    Nice fit, nice sound

    Written by TJ from Bartlesville

    Oct 5, 2009

Bought these for my iPhone since I bought it used without headphones - sound quality is as expected as I've had other Apple headphones for my old iPod, and they fit very well, though I have heard that some people have trouble with keeping them in their ears.

I thought it was a bonus that I would have a mic and remote, but was disappointed that Apple decided to keep that feature exclusive to the 3GS, but that's a complaint to take up with the iPhone 3GS, not the headphones themselves, as I'm still happy with the music quality. It's clear and balanced, and the bass is adequate.

    Great Concept, Poorly Made.

    Written by AM from Wauwatosa

These headphones are PERFECT for running/working out b/c you can control your music w/out having to pull your ipod out your pocket. However, I have had to get 3 pairs in the last 3 months! Luckily they are still under warranty so it hasn't cost me anything. I am not tough on my headphones either. I actually keep them in my old Bose headphone case so they are always protected, but the clicker keeps breaking! I would not spend $30 on headphone that only last a month matter how cool they are.

    Cool Earphones, But Not Durable

    Written by NP

    Oct 4, 2009

Apple makes some impressive things and this is one of them. These nice little earphones fit snuggly in your ear. These earphones are also a little remote so you can scroll through you songs and change the volume. There is also a mic so you can record your voice and answer calls. There is also a button that lets you pause music. The only problem with these headphone are that they are not durable. I had them for five weeks and they broke. I then bought a second pair. These lasted for four weeks. I just got my third pair about two months ago. My headphones are lasting longer because i am taking ALOT of care of them. I hope this is a helpful review to you.

    Bad Quality!

    Written by JH from Alexandria

    Oct 4, 2009

I have had an iPhone for two years now and I love how these headphones control music and you can also use them to talk on the phone, but i have had to buy six pairs ever since I got my first iPhone. At $29 each, I've given up on buying these until Apple upgrades the quality of this product.

Need to buy a 3rd set

    Written by KC from Chesilhurst

Right ear phone looses volume. It happened to the one that came with my iPhone, so I bought another, but now, after about 1 month, the new ear phones are doing the same thing. I listen at work so I often use only the right, in case my phone rings. For my 3rd set, I might try another brand.

Only useful if you don't sweat

    Written by HB from Fairview

    Oct 3, 2009

Just like the other reviewer, I have found that the further into my run I go, the worse they perform. First the volume stops working, then the track changing goes haywire. Works again a few hours later, but what's the point if you can't wear them on a long run. Unbelievable they didn't account for that.

    Don't use these for exercise...

    Written by SA from Durham

If you drip a drip of sweat into the controller, it will break... they usually last me about a day. A terribly designed product, since most people use iPods for working out.

    Useless

    Written by CL from Accrington

    Oct 3, 2009

I've got my headset with my iPod touch a few weeks ago, and it started to fall apart. The rubber's starting to come off, the volume dropped dramatically, and then finally one day it broke. You're better off buying them from eBay, you can even put them in the washing machine!

    They get broken

    Written by MA from Sardara

    Oct 3, 2009

They're definitely useful, especially for the 2nd gen iPod Touch.
Unfortunately for me, after only a week the right earphone started scratching and the mic emitted weird sounds during recordings. The jack connector got malfunctioning after two weeks so I got them replaced by a new pair... which got broken after two weeks (right earphone malfunctioning and after one month completely not working).

So, I really love the confort of the mic and the remote control.. but they get broken too easily. I only have normal day using, while walking in the streets and waiting in the tube, nothing special!

NEED redesign of 3G Shuffle, put the controls back!

    Written by JC from Hoboken

    Oct 3, 2009

Put the controls back, inline open mics will always be exposed to moisture for working out. IMO, inline headsets would be a good idea for bigger IPOD products that normally are not meant to be used for working out but the Shuffle was mainly designed to workout and moisture will always be a problem. The headset will get exposed to both the weather and sweat (around body, face, neck etc.).. more so than where one clips the shuffle. Just that fact tells you that inline controls on the headset is NOT a good ideas for this product.... Not that it is a bad idea, but NOT for this product. The controls should go back on the Shuffle..

    Zero Durability

    Written by SM from Bath

    Oct 3, 2009

Five stars for functionality, zero for durability. Moisture kills them, permanently, which is a stunning problem given that exercising is a big reason to use the ear buds. Dozens of other reviewers agree, leading one to wonder if anyone ever tested them before sending them to market. Very disappointing.

    finally...

    Written by JS from Rome

    Oct 2, 2009

After nearly six or so months, I finally have a pair of compatible ("tapline") in-ear headphones form another manufacturer that I can use with my Shuffle 4g that I originally bought last March.
Not only do my new non-Apple brand headphones sound far better and have superior bass reproduction, but, they actually stay in my ears.

I've been a firm believer in and have spent a ton of money on Apple iPod products over the past few years. However, there's no question that Apple suffered a huge loss of customer credibility on this one. What's more, Apple should be absolutely embarrassed over the number of manufacturers who literally scrambled to produce and distribute a licensed aftermarket headphone to satisfy so many unhappy Shuffle 4g customers.

I certainly hope that Apple's R&D team has since taken some very serious notice of customer frustrations with the original Apple earphone design and will finally heed consumer demand by producing a better sounding/fitting earpiece to pair with Apple products in the future.

    Don't Buy

    Written by JL from Jacksonville

    Oct 2, 2009

I use my ipod mainly while running and the earphones quit working after a couple of days. I was told at the Apple Store there was water damage which could only have come from sweating during my workout. I want the old earphones back.

    Not WORTH the 29.99$

Written by RG from North York

Looks good when in use on the bus. Not durable for everyday wear and tear. I bought my 3G phone one year ago, since then I've been force to buy four different mic earphones. Apple has the better and youthful products out there. You guys need to step your game up with this product.

Not durable, not even for everyday use

    Written by JS from Atlanta

    Oct 1, 2009

I use them when I walk to and from school. During the day, they are in by backpack, in the front pocket (not like there is anything else in there). The rubber/silicon around the headphones started coming off soon after purchase. I have been desperately trying to save them but no luck. Once this comes off, they are no longer comfortable.

    DO NOT BUY THESE

    Almost worthless

    Written by GL from Hiawatha

    Oct 1, 2009

They won't stay in my ears, so the sound is not very good,
not too mention having to put them back in my ears every few seconds/minutes.
I certainly wouldn't pay any money for them, but they came with my iPhone, so I
felt obliged to at least try them out. The remote control is cool, but overall, I won't
    be using these.

    Incredibly awful

    Written by BC from Montreal

    Sep 30, 2009

Ok, the quality of the sound is good, the controls work perfectly so far (2 weeks) , the microphone works fine with the ipod touch 2G , ive had no problem to play with I am T-Pain app .

But why do the earphones are rolled that way, it makes the cord all curly and it cant even fit into your ears . the earphones just spins everytime i put them in my ears . its just so frustating ive spent 50$ fortunately i bought skullcandy earbuds otherwise theyd keep falling outof my ears on my way to schooll . so i put my skullcandys on its so much easier to wear but it doesnt have the control and mic features besides the skullcandys are 20$. add a microphine + volume control 15$~ = 40$
