    Worthless? Or not?

    I connect my new MacBook Pro to an LG 22" display. It's resolution is 1680x1050. For some reason, It'll let me output 1680 to the monitor, but the display won't show anything but a black screen. VERY annoying, since my old MacBook with the miniDVI port or whatever worked PERFECTLY! Although one absolute upside to this port is that the connection is a TON stronger (the adapter won't just simply fall out like the miniDVI one) and that it actually supports the PowerSave mode for my display.

    Overpriced - underperforming

    I was using the miniDVI to VGA adapter on my Macbook (black) just fine with a Hanspree 21 inch HDMI display. I recently got a Macbook pro and the old adapter didn't fit on the Mini Displayport on the Pro so got this VGA adapter. Now the text is fuzzy as I type this and it just doesn't work as well.

    Simply didn't work

    I bought this to hook up my new macbook to projectors. Tried to hook it up to a Dell projector and although the macbook seemed to recognize the display, the projector just kept displaying "searching for signal." Would love to find a solution.

    Does not work with Samsung TV

    all the LCD TV in the office are samsungs ... there's no way for me to connect for presentations!

    Another problem with Samsung TV

    I have a Samsung 530 series LCD tv and this adapter doesn't work with my macbook. The display system preferences panel detects that it's a Samsung tv, but the TV doesn't detect a signal. I tried an older macbook with the mini-DVI to vga adapter and it works perfectly, so it seems like apple messed up on this one. I have yet to see whether any display works. I hope it's just a software thing.

    Doesn't work

    This adapter failed to recognize either of two separate external monitors (one is a Samsung 22" syncmaster and the other a 22" HansG). My new macbook pro failed to recognized anything as being attached. The Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, however, works for both montiors.

    Works great, only one nit

    Works fine in my experience with Apple Displays (not saying it doesn't work with others; I haven't had the chance to try it). My only complaint would be the short length -- I would like to see the cable about two to three times as long, or at least have Apple offer up the adapter in various lengths.

    Very nice adapter

    I really don't know why people say theirs don't work with the TV especially Samsung's. I don't have Samsung's TV, but mine works great. It works with Dell screen, Sony TV, Acer projector... There is only one Con in my opinion. It is just way too pricy. Otherwise, this is just a fabulous product.

    Can't select 8:5 resolutions.

    I have a monitor with native resolution 1920x1200. The VGA cable works fine from my desktop, but from my MacBook with this adaptor it won't let me use 8:5 (16:10) resolutions.

    Two years of use with no problems

    I bought this adapter in Nov 2009 to use with my then-new MBP for use in interfacing with our Proxima projectors for meetings, approx. 8-10 a month. So, that's now two years without any weird quirks or issues (knock on wood?). Then again I take great care in re-packing and protecting the accessories I use for for this laptop when finished using them and am putting it all away... for example this VGA adapter... so therein might be a good reason these fail for others (certainly not in all cases). I read some reviews and had to wonder... how carefully are they treating the stuff? How honest are they being with themselves? Just sayin'.

    Works For Me

    I use this to attach my macbook air to a projector. I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews as they work fine and last a while. It is a little expensive I guess but it is good quality and does seem to last a while. I would recommend this.

    Works like a charm

    I never write reviews on the web, however I thought this time it was worth it.

    I had my doubts about this product after reading the previous reviews. Half the people were saying that it didn't work properly on this screen, that projector...
    Which got me wondering. How can this be ? How can Apple release a product that only half works, slap a 30€ price tag on it, and get away with it ?

    So I decided to buy one, despite the negative feedback, and I couldn't be happier.
    I'm using this adaptor for a 2010 Macbook Pro 15, and have successfully got it working on both screens I have tried: a Dell VideoProjector, and a PackardBell 19 inch monitor. And my god does this make a difference when working with multiple windows. The screen extension setting means you work on your normal laptop (normal resolution, normal everything), and have another monitor beside it, as big as you like. No more looking for windows.

    I have only had it for a day, let's hope it still works a couple of weeks from now !

    To put it simply: completely worth the 30€.

    Works Great and easy to set up!

    I used this adapter to expand my desktop space for my macbook pro and it took less than a minute to plug in and have working properly for instant use. No problems simply flawless!

    Works with Mac Book laptops, not with Mac Pro desktops

    The adapter Works with Mac Book Pro, Mac Book Air laptops connecting to a projector or screen up to 23 in. I use one all the time.

    It does NOT work with mini display ports on the Radeon HD cards in a Mac Pro. Those require the $99 adapter even for small screens and projectors. Apple techs explained that the Radeon HD mini display ports are different from the Mac Book ones.

    Just the connection I needed

    This adapter was just what I needed to connect my new MacBook to our Toastmasters club's Epson projector. The projector's VGA cable plugged into the VGA adapter securely enough without my having to use the screws.

    Good But,

    Very good and does what it is supposed to. The only thing bad about it is that the screws from my VGA cable won't go in to it. It might only be my cable, but it might also be the adapter. Over all good picture and a decent value.

    Physical connection problems

    I have had a problem connecting the female VGA side of this Adapter with some
    older male VGA cables. The problem is not with the connector itself, but with the
    physical packaging. The Apple Adapter presents the female VGA connector flush with a solid plastic shell. Some male VGA cables have protective shells which interfere with
    the solid plastic and prevent the two connectors from fully mating.

    Pretty, clean design - insufficient attention to detail.

    Didn't work

    I am changing from PC to Mac and bought this to connect to my MacBookPro to the television. The adapter was to be used with the cable that had, previously, gone directly into my PC as it had a VGA port. Unfortunately, after we settled in for a movie on a snowy winter night, all we could get was a partial screen. No sure what the solution is, can't find a cable that goes directly from VGA to the display port.

    Serves Its Purpose With Ease

    I purchased this adapter to connect a monitor I purchased at a tag sale to my macbook pro. I was skeptical at first, but the second I plugged it into my pro, the second monitor came up and everything worked easily and without any setup. Great product!
