    Dont See Why People Complain?

    I really like this adapter it gives me a chance to put my puny 13" MBP on a 27" 1920x1080 screen. It formats the orientation correctly, unlike my old windows machine wear I had to use a lower res. because windows wouldnt change the orientation. So overall I love this adapter it does what its meant to which is make your Mac have a external display. Stop complaing :)

    Excellent Adapter

    This adapter works perfectly. I use it to connect my 13" MBP to my 23" Samsung monitor as well as 46" Samsung TV. Both the monitor and TV support 1080p, so when I connect my mac to either one it puts out 1920x1080 at 60 hz which looks crystal clear. I believe some of the problems people are having with this is that they are using the adapter to connect their macs to monitors or televisions that do not support macs so the picture is either distorted or does not come through clear. This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone, however do your research to be sure that the monitor or tv you are trying to connect your mac to is supported.

    Rubbish

    My old MacBook pro played nicely with both my Xerox external monitor and Toshiba TV. The image was crisp and sharp, not as good as the MacBook screen but pretty good nonetheless.

    With my new MacBook Pro plus this adapter my external monitor looks rubbish. The screen is off centre, the resolution is stretched (yes I've tried different settings and continue to search the forums for a fix) and text is really blurry. As for the TV I get nothing, nada. A blank screen and a 'Video format not supported' error message.

    This is all rather poor and annoying. I expect better from Apple for the sort of prices we pay - please sort it out!

    May have trouble syncing with monitors at higher resolutions

    I have a late-2010 13" MB Air and use this adapter with various monitors. It appears that the VGA timings or signal strength on the laptop are marginal at higher resolutions (1600x1200 and above). The effect is that you periodically get zig-zag bursts across the entire screen. This is the analog VGA signal slipping between scanlines.

    The reason I'm mentioning this on the adapter page is that the build quality of the adapter appears to contribute to this. Perhaps there isn't proper shielding. In any case, I have tried three of these adapters and some are worse than others.

    Hopefully this issue can be fixed in the MB Air so that VGA is more usable at higher resolutions.

    Variables I have eliminated by trying different options: monitors, VGA cables, computer (2009 Mac Mini has no problem with same monitor and cable), USB or no USB attached, wireless networking disabled, and locations (home and office). Things that definitely fix it: using a DVI adapter or resolutions under 1600x1200 with VGA.

    So, if you have a single monitor, get the DVI adapter instead. If you're doing presentations, you have to use VGA but switch to a lower resolution.

    Doesn't work properly!

    I got this for my 15' High End Macbook Pro for connecting to my Samsung 23" monitor. Disappointingly it supports all the resolutions but does not support the native 1920 x 1080 resolution. The display is visible but the screen is moved to the sides leaving a big black bar in left of the screen.

    I bought the adapter for a 2011 13" MBP, and it works fine so far with an ASUS monitor, and an LG HDTV. No problems, no flickering, very simple product. I think the ones who has problems with flickering, and such, the problem is NOT in the adapter, but the Mac's VGA. Anyway, a recent update for MacBook Pros featured a fix for external displays, and Intel graphic cards.

    Best accessory for MAC

    I just bought my 13-inch mac book pro when it came out in February and I then bought the mini-VGA . I then hooked it to my 31.5 inch Westinghouse Tv and its like my mac blew up to a bigger screen. This product is very good for gaming and secondary screens, and this is a really good thing for mac because they don't have vga ports like PC's do.

    I bought this to use in my classroom with my MacBook so I could connect it to the projector for large class presentations. It works great and I've never had an issue with it. The price is right as well, not too expensive for a teacher buying her own technology to use in the classroom. :)

    Disappointing result

    Used this to plug my new Macbook Pro 13" to AG Neovo F419 external monitor.
    Nothing wrong with the monitor. It works fine with other laptops including old Macbook Pro 15".

    Now it flickers continuously and is completely unwatchable. Why??!!

    Amazing, So Easy - Use for your TV!

    Fantastic. Just make sure your TV has the right ports, silly people!! Not one meant just for PCs. I have an old Insignia 42" (4 years old) a 5-yr-old macbook, and a new macbook and this works perfectly for both set ups. Have the macbook screen and sound plugged into the DVI port and its associated sound input port. Do NOT have them plugged into the RGB PC port.

    OK for low resolution

    This mini adapter works well for small external monitor but when it comes to 1900x1200 external monitor, the display start to give an annoying jitter. Proven with 2 separate purchased Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapters and two 1900x1200 24" different made monitors with a 15" MacBookPro i7 QuadCore.

    Note: There is no problem with my Sony notebook VGA output for these monitors.

    Easiest way to go

    Ok.... so Apple decided to do a little bit of marketing strategies once again. The easiest way that I found is buy this minidisplayport to vga adapter and then buy a vga to vga extension along with it. It cost about $50 total, but it's better than paying $100 dollars for an extension without the vga attachment.

    The adapter works perfectly when connecting a 13" MacBook Pro to a Dell (or any non-Mac) external monitor. Great size to travel with as well.

    Error exists between keyboard and chair. People give these products a bad review because they buy the wrong item, then say it doesn't work. This display port plug-in works perfectly with the products it is SUPPOSED to work for.

    fantastic product...you airheads need to learn your equipment

    i've had my HP screen hooked into my MAC MINI for almost two years and i've never once had an issue. i even hooked the MINI up to my samsung 46" TV once...still no issues...for the love of god people...learn about your products before using them. this way you dont sway people towards or away from the wrong products. mac runs a different OS...thats obvious...what this means though, is that there WILL be certain compatibility issues. ALMOST always this can be corrected by just learning your product. the compatibility problem can easily be described as this: IF YOU HAVE A DEMOCRAT AND A REPUBLICAN ARGUING OVER THE REVISIONS OF A BILL BEFORE ITS PROPOSED, THIS IS YOUR COMPATIBILITY ISSUE. ONCE BOTH PARTIES HAVE LEARNED EACH OTHERS PRO'S AND CONS THEY CAN COME TO AN "AGREEMENT". THIS IS WHERE THE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES MAKE A "HAND SHAKE", AND WORK. Voila...you've now been educated...

    Not sure why all these negative reviews about that adapter. For me it worked fine both on a projector or a large LCD TV. There's one tip to get it to work on a TV which is to buy male/male VGA cable ($7-8) to hoke it to the adapter on one side and the TV on the other side. I'm happy with purchase.
