    VGA to Samsung TV

    • Written by from Knoxville

I have read the review of this product not working with Samsung TVs. I have a Samsung UN46C9000 LED/LCD 3D TV. This adapter works VERY WELL with my TV. It gives a very clear and sharp picture with no hint of pixelation or other video artifacts.

    I highly recommend it!

    Can't understand the bad reviews

    • Written by from Stony Brook

It worked perfectly for me. Come on, this is just a VGA adaptor, it has no reason not to work properly as people have been reporting. I agree that the initial resolution was bad, but this is a matter of adjusting the resolution and color properties in the System Preferences/Displays. It has a nice wizard to help you.

    Outstanding!

    • Written by from Daytona Beach

I just bought a new 15" Macbook Pro in July 2009 and I wanted to hook up the monitor from my HP Desktop. After reading all of the reviews on this site I was very skeptical about this product, but I decided to buy it anyway. It worked perfectly. All of the connectors fit snug and flush without effort, and the Macbook Pro detected and turned on the HP monitor in seconds. I didn't have to open system preferences or change any settings. It was truly plug and play.

Non-functional right out of the bag!

    • Written by from Austin

Test it at the store before you take it home or order a couple of them if you are buying online. I got one of these the day I was scheduled to do a presentation (with an LCD projector). Wrong move. It was completely non-functional right out of the bag. How does such a simple product like this leave the factory like that?!?

FWIW, I tested the adapter with a dual input Viewsonic monitor that I use with another computer. The VGA input and cable work with the other hardware, and the MacBook Pro video output works with the monitor's digital input. That tells me that the brand new VGA adapter is the problem.

    Works with Samsung SyncMaster 210T

    • Written by from Quincy

I connected my new 15" MacBook Pro to Samsung SyncMaster 210T LCD display and it worked. It recognized with no problem. Of course, it is overpriced.

    People aren't using common sense.

I have used this product A LOT. It works fantastic, with no problems. Looking at the reviews, however, any normal person would realize that... maybe this product just doesn't work with Samsung products, which is Samsung's fault, as Samsung and LG like to make it so that their products only work exclusively with their own products. As a result, just don't get it if you have a Samsung product, as it obviously doesn't work for them, and you won't have to write a bad review

    ?Reliability, great support.

    • Written by from Vancouver

I teach at a University and a couple of times, students have instantly fried this adapter by plugging it into the Ethernet port. This seems to instantly render these things useless. However, the bright side is that Apple has provided exceptional, no questions asked, instant support.

    Works Great

    • Written by from Weston

I have no trouble at all with this product except loosing them! I'm buying my third today. I had much more trouble with the previous generation of video out to VGA converters that worked with my old laptop. The mini DVI adapter has worked consistently for video output to a variety of overhead projectors (10+) hundreds of times.

Apple does charge a lot for all its cables, put in my experience they are more reliable than 3rd party cables.

Works perfectly from Mac mini to Samsung TV

    • Written by from Hong Kong

I have just bought a 2011 Mac mini and connected it from the Thunderbolt port to my rather old Samsung LA37R71B TV using this adapter. It works perfectly.

    I have set the Mac mini to 1280 x 768 60Hz.

It's a much better picture on the TV using this instead of using the straight HDMI to HDMI which I also tried.

    Works well, but briefly

    • Written by from Findlay

I've used this adapter 2x a week for 6 months. Yesterday, it burnt out on me...which is tough, because I need it to do presentations to royalty, and there is no Apple store for quite a distance.

Amazing, So Easy - Use for your TV!

    • Written by from University Park

Fantastic. Just make sure your TV has the right ports, silly people!! Not one meant just for PCs. I have an old Insignia 42" (4 years old) a 5-yr-old macbook, and a new macbook and this works perfectly for both set ups. Have the macbook screen and sound plugged into the DVI port and its associated sound input port. Do NOT have them plugged into the RGB PC port.

    Excellent Adaptor

    • Written by from Norman

This is an excellent adaptor! I use it constantly! It's great because I'm in college and have to give lots of presentations that all require an adaptor to connect to the projectors.
I don't understand the problems other people have because I have never had any trouble at all.

Died after only a few weeks use on a Mac Air to 23" screen. Very low impact use. It should have lasted years!
Seemed to be a loose connection inside.
