    Perfect

This thing is for DVI-D conversion. I hooked it up to my HDTV and the display is beautiful.
Highly recommended if you have the correct port on your mac.

    HDMI to DVI Video Cable

    • Written by from New York

To those of you who are having problems with your connections. Try connecting a HDMI to DVI video cable To the DVI adapter. A staff person at the Apple Store had informed me of this connection. There are two parts to connect ( the HDMI to DVI video cable AND the DVI adapter). I used a 20" monitor and so far I'm happy with the outcome. TRUST ME IT WORKS.

Good Product - wish it came with the system

    • Written by from Cheshire

It's a great product and it works perfectly. The only thing that I'm not too happy about with it is that either this or a Mini DP to VGA should come with the systems. I just got my MacBook Pro back in August and my previous PowerBook G4 came with a DVI to VGA adaptor in the box, which was incredibly nice. The last thing that I have to say is that if you read a review that has a low rating because the purchaser doesn't know anything about computers and what they're buying, don't listen. I work in IT at an unnamed major university, and consumers who don't learn about products and just blindly purchase them shouldn't knock the company for their laziness.

    Works Fine

    • Written by from ATLANTA

Prior to purchasing my i7 15' MBP I realized that was going to need this adaptor. It took 30 seconds to connect to my Apple Display and it has worked fine. It's somewhat of a pain to have to purchase two adaptors (firewire and dvi) but I'm over it.

    works just fine

If you own a 23" cinema display and have been using an older macbook and have recently upgraded your macbook, this is the device you need to plug your monitor in to your new machine. It takes 5 minutes at the most and works perfectly with the cinema display.

snow leopard not supporting apple talk is another issue...argh!

    Acer AL2416W cable

    • Written by from MINNEAPOLIS

I couldn't get this adapter to work at first, until I noticed that the cable that came with my monitor was marked 'PC' on one end. It worked fine for years with the 'PC' end plugged into the monitor on my old 13" Macbook, but it always gave 'No Signal' on my new 13" Macbook Pro when using DVI. I turned the cable around, and it started working. How does this make any sense at all? Is my desktop a physics-free zone? I'm just happy I don't have to use VGA anymore, the difference is night and day.

    Everything I could ask for

    • Written by from chapel hill

I bought this along with the belkin DVI to HDMI cable and it works great. The picture that I'm capable of getting is fantastic. A word of advice, if your television has HDMI available then this is the way to go. The VGA cable is good, but requires more from the user to make it work. This thing definitely fits the bill.

    Got the Job Done

    • Written by from Wichita

I bought a lcd tv on Black Friday and I thought that it said it had a vga output. However when I got it home it didn't so I was worried on what to do. After much research I found that I could by a mini displayport to dvi and then a dvi to hdmi to hook up to my new tv for an external display. For the sound I had to get a audio cable and connect that to my audio out port on my 13in macbook pro. Everything works great.

Be Careful! Does not support 30" Cinema Display

    • Written by from Lincoln

This adapter does NOT support the 30" Cinema Display. Instead, you need Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter.

    Works perfectly

While I always hate having to buy extra bit-pieces, this adapter worked great. My DVI-D cable fit snugly with screws mating with the adapter as expected. Interesting to see folks rating this adapter negatively because they were too ignorant to check their DVI cable flavor before buying this item. Know what you're buying before putting the money down......a trite but extremely valid thought.

Adapter works fine as long as you force a good connection.

    • Written by from LOS ALAMOS

I'm very happy I read the negative reviews which alerted me to possible problems. Connecting the female DVI-D to a male DVI-D to HDMI cable was a bit of a nuisance since the fit was EXTREMELY tight. I very carefully forced the two connectors together. The amount of force required to get a good connection (the connector bodies touching) is very much more than would be ordinarily expected. But once the connection was made, the secondary display appeared on my Sharp Aquos 52" TV. A 2m Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable would probably sell well.

Works Great with my Dell, Samsung and Apple LCD monitors that use DVI

    • Written by from Chicago

The adaptor works great. It's nice they shrank the huge DVI input down to this small little plug.

    Macbook dvi adapter

    • Written by from Salinas

This adapter worked perfectly with my 20" Dell monitor. The mini displayport plug is long enough that it does not detach randomly from my MacBook Pro. As for the DVI side, Other reviews mentioned that they had trouble screwing in their cable into the adapter, I didnt. Probably depends on your cable.

Works just fine. Setup was a breeze. Plug and play no drivers necessary.

I bought the 2.13Ghz MBA and connected a 20" LG flat panel monitor. It works quite well and almost always without hesitation. If you mirror the displays and try to do something like watch movie via itunes, it will flicker occassionally. If you have it in extended desktop mode, it works just fine. It's a slight compromise for having the itty bitty MBA.

This works great even though I needed to go and buy a new one because my older black macbook used the larger size Mini display port. Oh well, it was worth it.
