    Left on plane twice, Wow

Written by PL from La Quinta

This product works just fine. However there is a flaw in design. The tip often stays in the plane socket when pulled out. I have lost two in the last six months. Yes, I should look each time but there is something to the fact that when you pull it out you think you have it. However, it takes a special investigation each time. The fact that you plug it in without incident, but when you pull it, it often separates, is a design flaw. Yes, Apple could do better. Where is the replacement part?

Lost the outer adaptor ...Now USELESS

I wish I had seen these reviews earlier. The product works well as an adaptor BUT SHOULD NOT COME APART!. My plug in is sitting in 10F on AA but do you think it can be found? This should not come apart so easily and since it does THE ADAPTOR should be available as a seperate piece. Am not sure I am willing to fork another $49 over to Apple for this poorly designed piece. The entire plug in system for the Mac Book Pro leaves much to be desired with the loose plug if you want to add the extension. Would think this would be permanently attached as well. Unfortunately with their "Mag Safe", while good in concept, limits 2nd party plug ins. Love the Mac Book Pro...hate their plug ins.

Should clip in solid or have a clip

My primary problem with this is that the two pieces at the end come apart very easily. I have not lost mine yet, but think that I am at risk for losing it on a flight.

    Nice, but lost connector

This is a tough one to review as I like the product, it works well, but the end section that goes into the power connector on a flight is too loose and is easily left in the socket. It needs a clip... or something to prevent this happening..... other than a loosing the first one and having to buy a whole new set for $50.

    Defect in design of adapter

The magsafe airplane adapter's snap on end component that fits into the airplane power source gets easily stuck in the plane's plug in and separates from the rest of the cable that if you are like me and have to disconnect quickly upon landing you may forget this happens and LOSE the end component. More importantly, you can not easily buy just that end component. You have to spend another $50 to buy the whole thing. Apple needs to secure the adapter end piece so it is more likely to stay attached and not be left behind.

    Not for Delta economy though

    Written by JS from Atlanta

Sounds like a great idea, but I recently took two international Delta flights & the plugs in the 767s I was in did not fit this adapter, nor did the USB power outlets provide power to my iPhone or iPod. Good idea, but I have yet to find a Delta economy class seat where it was actually useful.

Only one use before joining the lost club

I left my tip behind on the first use. There is always a better way do things to prevent people from loosing money no matter what individuals should have done. I didn't think I needed to check that all the pieces pulled out. I pushed it in as one unit and I should have pulled been able to pull it out as one unit. The airlines are no better because I tried calling lost and found and I guess the flight attendants don't turn them in. Maybe I can purchased mind back off of ebay! I like buying things twice!! Apple needs to sell the 20mm tip separate. I an not purchasing the whole thing again. I know it is my fault for not checking because I didn't read the reviews to know to check, so I have no problem buying the piece I lost, if it was sold separate.

    Apple should try harder.

Works like it should, but like others have said, it's very easy to leave the tip in the plug. For the uninitiated, the plug is under the seat where you can't see it, and you're often in a hurry to get the thing unplugged before the stewardess, er, flight attendant, yells at you. It would have been a no-brainer to design it so this couldn't happen. Ball-detent, bayonet, threads, etc. It's not rocket science.
