Apple USB Power Adapter
amazing
Written by CD from palo alto
Jul 14, 2008
this is probably the best product i have ever used. it fits in my wall socket perfectly and my usb iphone charging cable fits in the usb power adapter perfectly. my favorite part is that when i connect the iphone to the usb charging cable, the usb charging cable to the usb power adapter and the power adapter into the wall, it charges my iphone, AMAZING! then when im tired of that, i can unplug my usb connection from my usb power adapter and into my computer flawlessly, and now my iphone starts to sync, or i could just not plug it into the usb power adapter and plug it into the computer instead, and it charges and syncs at the same time. the only reason i cant give this 5 stars is because when i swing the usb power adapter too fast and pretend its a ball and chain, the usb power adapter flys off and usualy hits sommething of value. like my cat.

It works....
Written by JL from Magnolia

the new design is beautiful. it would be cooler if the prongs folded up like previous power adapters, but it is small and compact non-the-less. i give it 3 stars due to the fact that this is $30. that is a little bit over priced, especially since i will have to buy another one to keep in my car so i don't ever forget a charger. i am in need of a charger so badly due to the fact apple's new phone wont charge in my car as for a lot of other charging devices.

If you are on a powestrip, you will LOVE this adapter!

Nice simple block form factor that does't take up more than a single U.S. socket face!
No more over-sized transformer occupying the next socket position!.
Nice design Apple! :-)11 of 14 people found this useful

$30 dollars? - C'mon...
Written by CC from PORTLAND
Jul 18, 2008
Yes, it is small (read: "cool," easy to lose), and it does what it is supposed to do. But do they really have to price this at $30 American dollars when it probably costs 30 pesos to make?

Good Product - Not a good value

This power adapter works great. Especially in power strip situations. But $30 for this adapter? That seems extremely high.

Apple USB Power Adapter
no international plug support
Written by DO from South Pasadena
Jul 22, 2008
This plug is quite well designed as is, and works. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but hey. The much-bigger issues is the lack of international plug support. I would assume, being made introduced with, and shipped with iPhone 3G, a good amount of people will have to bring their phone outside the US. For that, you need the $29 USB charger - which is a much better value; it's almost as light, only slightly bigger, and it can take all international plugs Apple sells in a kit. This one, in my opinion, for people traveling, is pretty useless.

Very handy

I'm loving this new design. I no longer need to find an outlet in my house that already has an AC adapter dangling from the bottom outlet. This little guy conveniently plugs into the upper outlet nor does it consume extra space in my surge protectors. As for the price, justified as it's pro is not taking up a lot of space where as the other AC adapter is internationally friendly.

Apple USB Power Adapter
Perfect for travel, even overseas
Written by PC from Spring
Jul 23, 2008
It's small, very light, and works like it should. If you need a plug adapter for use overseas, just use the $2 adapters available everywhere. You need to buy them anyway to charge your other electronics. This adapter is so small that even with a generic European plug adapter, it still fits *within* the wall plugs here in Germany.

Mine doesn't work...
Written by LM from Burnaby
Jul 30, 2008
Sure it's nice and small, but the USB power adapter supplied with my iPhone doesn't work. The USB cable charges and syncs my phone when connected directly to the computer, but won't charge when connected to a wall socket using the adapter.

Nice but....
Written by VK from West Springfield

It was nice to have it come with the new iphone, but $30 bucks? really? It's definitely a bit overpriced (hence 3 stars, otherwise it would have been a 10 star if it was only $5) and I personally probably wouldn't buy it alone, but other than that, it is compact and works well.

Cars with AC Sockets
Written by KM from Floral City
Aug 4, 2008
For those who drive a Toyota Matrix (or any other car with an 115 V AC socket for that matter), this adapter will not fall out of the socket. It's a nice added bonus that I don't have to purchase yet another car charger and can just use the one Apple provided. Hopefully, I will never lose or damage it as I do agree that $30 is steep.

Good deal on a great device
Written by RM from Powhatan

Those complaining about the $30 price tag need to remember that it includes the $20 cable, not shown in the pictures. This is the handiest Apple AC adaptor yet, and I plan to buy one for the office and leave the one at home that came with my iPhone.

Travel woes
Written by NJ from Rochester
Aug 12, 2008
Well, I really dig the new design. It's sleek and, as someone else has already pointed out, it's compact enough to work well in the car. My issue, however, is that the old power adapter wasn't big at all. Not only was it compact, but you were able to swap the prongs for oversees adapter prongs (such as those I purchased from apple for $30). Although Im sure Apple will come out with something... As of right now, I have no reason to jump for joy at the prospect of my old adapter being phased out- Isn't the iPhone supposed to be a World Phone?

Apple USB Power Adapter
Compact, Lite & Perfect
Written by JK from Hamtramck
Aug 13, 2008
This is the same charger that comes with the new iPhone 3G. It is small and lite enough to drop in your pocket, and perfect for trips as it takes up less space than it's larger sibling of the same name, part number MB051LL/A. It will power either iPhone and any iPod from the video on. The 2 prong connector is fixed so it is limited to use in U.S., Canada, Japan, Taiwan, and parts of Latin America. Don't knock it if your an international traveler wanting to go to other countries, just opt for the other mentioned part number. The added bonus of this model is that it includes a Dock Connector to USB Cable and is small enough to work in automobiles that have an AC outlet.
Sorry, you can't knock this product for it's loss-ability. If you leave your ring in a hotel room you going to blame the jeweler? I don't think so. When space is a premium - especially with the current airline checked baggage charges, smaller is definately better!26 of 29 people found this useful
