Expensive, but you get what you pay for...

I recently lost mine and was about to buy a new one, but it turns out it went through the washer and dryer. I let it sit for a few days, then plugged it in, and it was fine. You should use extreme caution if you are going buy one from a 3rd party. I am sure BestBuy, Amazon, etc are OK, but there are a lot of listings online that claim original apple charger and they are chinese knock-offs that look exactly the same. The bad news with them is that they are built poorly and smell / stop working after a short period of time. If you need a new charger, I suggest you just use your computers USB port, or pay the $30 for one you know is apple brand.

i love this product because we have so many ipods and it works great with all of them! plus, if you buy the iphone, it comes right in the box, so you dont need to buy it! but, if you do buy it, it is almost worth it, but it should be $10 at most.

Folding Prongs!!!

This is a modest, nice USB/AC adapter, but it needs FOLDING PRONGS! What good is a small size for, so you could carry it in a pocket and such, if the prongs are gonna poke you in the leg while the adapter is in your pocket? I have always known Apple to listen to their consumers and loyal customers. So I will hopefully see this product with folding prongs.

Small but effective

I just purchased this charger today after I read the reviews here. Althought it does have a small cord, you can puchase a USB extension cable at any computer store. If the prongs could fold, that would be a plus. Small compact size is great.

It works well and is nice and compact. It is absurdly expensive, in part because it comes with a cable which is exactly the same as the cable that comes with the ipod, so one is paying for unnecessary duplication. However, generic usb power adapters do not work with the ipod (at least mine doesn't), so you are stuck buying the original. To clear up something from other reviews: The documentation clearly states that it works at any voltage from 110-240, so it should work in Europe with an appropriate adaptor.

Excellent, but loses one star for price

Compact, durable, convenient. One of the smartest things Apple has done in a while. It's such an elegant solution to carrying around yet another tangled powercord.

Would have been five stars except for the price point. I can't see any justification for charging that much for an adapter, except to exploit the "in for a penny, in for a pound" thinking (i.e., "Well, I already spent so much on my iThing, I might as well....").

Lucky for me, it was included with my iPhone, but I recommend it anyway for the real convenience it provides.

I love my new adaptor. I just got it a week ago and i can't get enough of it. I would've given it another star except for the fact that it is sooo expensive. It is nice and small and cute thou!

Yes, a little expensive, but leaps and bounds ahead of the clunky boxes that came with the original iPods. Seriously though, why rake us over the coals like this? Not cool.

Good compact but...

I love this compact little adapter and the ONLY thing that prevents me from giving it 5-stars is that the specification text for usage is not visible. The printing is grey on white and very small (it has to be small, I understand that since the whole adapter is small); however I have searched the internet (since the Iphone didn't come with ANY manual or specifications) to see if I can use this little adapter in Europe with 240 volts without an extra powerconverter and I am still not sure.

This is a very nice power adapter. It is really small and is a good alternative to bringing your laptop with you to charge your iPod. The only downside is the price.

I payed 30 bucks to find that the cable wont even reach my desk! It is much to short but
if apple could make a longer cable that wold be great! But overall, i like it i have power when i need it.

Great adapter

It's compact, it's awesome, it charges your iPod wherever you are. It does what the old chargers did in half the size. The only problem I had was getting a new one, after I purchased a broken (wouldn't charge iPods) recalled one, and I had to wait for the Apple store to have new ones in stock. (I didn't really care about the breaking prongs, just wanted a working one.) After I got a working "green dot" one, it's simply awesome; leave it to Apple to make a tiny charger even smaller!

Great Product

This charger is by far the fastest, smallest, and therefore most convienient charger I've ever used (and I've gone through four or five). The only problem is that they don't make the power specs big enough to read... so when I went overseas, I was afraid to use it. So I ended up having to call Apple just to find out that the information IS on the charger, you just have to have perfect vision to read it (by the way, the charger works on 100-240 volts). I think this is a huge safety hazard and needs to be fixed, but other than that, the only other complaint I have is that the cord could be a little longer and the prongs could be retractable like the older versions. Other than that, great product; I would recommend buying it.

I love this little product! It is so small and so handy. I have a Mac mini and an iPod touch 2nd generation. Before I got this product, I had to charge my ipod almost everyday. That meant turning on my mac, even when i'm NOT using it. I hate to waste energy. Now, since I got this charger, i don't have to turn on my mac. I hate the price tag though, but it is a wonderful charger! I recommend it to everyone! I'm going to buy another one for my son. He has the latest nano.

Why not get one?

Great for thoes who done have a 24-7 USB port around. No more waiting for that 10sec ejection time, or having to worry about disconnecting before ejecting. Im giving it a 4 because of the price. I think it should be around atleast $24.99.
