Pretty good, old one was better.

    Written by MD from Hesperia

I got this one a couple of days ago and I have to say the older one is better. I got the bigger white one for Easter a couple of years ago and it has withstood a lot of travel and abuse. My favorite feature of the older one is the prongs folding in so they don't break off during travel, and it worries me, since the prongs on the new one don't fold, that they might break off when I'm traveling and its bouncing around my duffel bag.
Overall, I would recommend this one, simply because you can't get the other one anymore, and it does do its job.

    The second one works great!

The first one I had was too loose in all the electrical outlets I tried and would not charge my iPhone. I do give Apple 5 stars in customer support though. With a few clicks of a mouse the new one was on it's way.

    Good Item, Bad Price

    Written by BF

    Nov 13, 2009

I got my adapter for free as a gift and it works all around my house, it so much better than having to go through the hassle of connecting it to the computer to charge it. Unfortunately, the price is too high if I hadn't gotten it for free I definitely would not have bought it. Thats the reason for only 3 stars

Need 2 more feet to the cable cord at least!!!

    Written by AI from Gaithersburg

It says it is 4 feet long. Feels like 2 feet. Sometimes I just wanna lay in bed plugged in using the usb power adapter and it is waaaaaay too short. Other iPhone people have said the same thing. I'm on here looking for a longer one. Mine already looks ready to break. And OMG 30 dollars for this? Maybe I'm thinking too Walmart or something. Seems too expensive but what do I know. I'm so in love with iPhone 3GS I try to overlook the shortcomings

Works good though still too pricey

I've had this for about 6 months now and I haven't had any charging problems until yesterday. I hope to get it replaced soon as this was somewhat unexpected. On the bright side, it charges faster than when connected to a computer and it works on multiple voltages around the world. If only it was priced more reasonably would I have more of these conveniently placed around my house.

    Not for use behind furniture

    Written by DN from kunkletown

Don't get me wrong it's a great charger, but i plug mine in behind my bed and since the cable comes out of the back it increases it's volume quite dramatically. This could easily be fixed if the USB port was on the top or one of the sides

    need a longer cord

    Written by ES from shreveport

    Sep 27, 2009

i really like the size but i think it would have been better if the rongs folded up like the old one. Also why do the cords have to be so short? i'm in need of finding a longer cord so when i lay on the bed my phone will reach the bed while being plugged into the wall. and its way to expensive considering you have to buy a car charger too and most people buy more than one charger during their phones life.

    SHORT CABLE!

    Written by FS from Groveland

    Sep 24, 2009

Sure it has a nifty design and a magnet so the adapter can hook into my laptop with ease, but the biggest downfall is the length of the cord.

I can't even sit in bed without it popping out and the outlet is right next to the bed!

I'd imagine this is a big problem especially for people setting their laptops on a desktop or table. It would also be lovely if it had an adapter on both sides so that i could choose where the cable is coming from, so it doesn't have to reach around.

    Apple Adapter Cable I give a C-.
Minamalistic, but needs to be realistic.
    Please and Thank You.

Great for travel but full alarm clocks and (not great)speakers with chargers can be found for less money. Keeps luggage weight down but what's with the price tag?

    Replacement Adapter

    Written by JD from APO

    Aug 6, 2009

I lost my previous fold-up prong adapter, so I purchased this new one. It worked great while I was in the U.S. I live in Germany and I have spent a great deal of time trying to determine the line voltage upon my return home. I finally found it in very small print in a very similar color to where it was written on the prong side of the adapter. The line voltage specs should be available on-line and written on the item in a larger, darker colored font. I would rather have the fold-up prong adapter, it's easier to pack even if it was a little larger.

    Aug 4, 2009

every review on this says something bad about it. it shouldn't be $30 when it should be $15, but it gets the job done. it doesnt have to be perfect, as long as it charges your ipod, right? its a good product and is worth the money.

    Has flaws!

    Written by JK from Centennial

    Jul 26, 2009

I was able to get this along with my new iPhone 3g, a flaw that i found was it is easily pulled out of the socket! Thats because the two prongs are sized the same instead of two differnt sizes like normal outlet prongs! Rather disappointing coming from apple like this.

    Perfect Product, Jacked-Up Price

    Written by DD from Chicago

Works perfectly. Tiny device. Good aesthetic. Way to expensive. This thing should really be about $15. Come on Apple! Please lower the price. I lost mine and don't have the money to sink into a new one.

hold your nose and buy it.

Written by AG from New York

As one positive reviewer said - "ALL plug in phone chargers are a rip off." Sort of a weak defense, but all apple customers really ought to own apple stock to justify the steep premium you pay for these products.

Once you get over that (cmon - $30 really?)its a necessary product that you will find very useful and nice to have. Excellent form factor.

    Power Specs?

    Written by HL from Hollywood

    Jan 1, 2009

The adapter is fine, but it's irresponsible of Apple not to post the power input specs on the product's web page. You need telephoto eyes to read what's printed on the adapter itself.

    OK product, inaccurate description.

    Written by JL from Brooklyn

    Nov 21, 2008

The best thing I can say about it is that it is nice and compact. However the cable provided with it is much too short. Also, would it kill Apple to mention the power specs and requirements of the adapter somewhere on the product page!? I'd go a step further and say it's extremely irresponsible not to. If you look closely at the tiny print on the face of the unit, you'll see that the adapter will work with an input voltage of 100-240 volts. This means you do NOT have to buy a voltage converter to use the charger in foreign countries although you may need an adapter to fit the type of electrical socket used.

Great product and love the size. It's great to have this instead of having to carry around a computer to wherever you are going just to charge your iPod. But $30? It only costs $5-$10 to make the thing and other companies sell it for $10. Good product overall, but way overpriced.

Nice adapter, but cord too short

    Written by LH from Haverhill

    Sep 24, 2008

Yes, the charger is small and it fits and stays in the wall socket better than the earlier iPod chargers, but the earlier chargers had an extension cord that could be put on the end of the shorter cord, like the MacBook computer chargers. I play computer games and watch movies and TV shows in bed as an end-of-the day activity. The iPhone battery isn't enough to last for 2-3 hours of video. The short USB cord won't reach the floor electrical outlet. So I sit with a power adapter or extension cord in my bed! Not cool.
