    problem charging the phone

    Written by AL from Miramar

    Nov 11, 2009

I find it very frustating when I need to charge my phone and it takes at least a 1/2hr to 45 mins searching
which outlet it wants to work with. When I connect the adapter to an AC outlet, the phone does not charge.
I have to move around the adapter many times before I am able to find the right position to charge the phone.

    Not reliable, I regret.

The adapter that came with my iphone rarely works. I was unable to use my iphone for four days while on holiday. I thought that the phone died. Upon my return home, the phone charged up using only the direct the USB to my desktop. I love the phone, but the power adapter needs work. Quite disappointing considering I bought the phone to use on my vacation :(

    Tempramental

Seem to be having major issues getting this to work. It is very tempramental - doesn't work in certain sockets and then works in others. Don't like it at all.

    Intermittent at best

Written by AW from San Jose

    Nov 4, 2009

Got one with my 3gs. Seems to randomly decide whether or not it's going to charge the phone.

The same USB cables work fine when plugged into the PC.

Perhaps there is some sequence you must follow?

Company I work for switched to i phones for a company phone. Phones are great but more than half of the chargers we got you have to mess with for ten to twenty mins before you can get them to charge. Charges right away with a computer.

Need 2 more feet to the cable cord at least!!!

    Written by AI from Gaithersburg

    Oct 27, 2009

It says it is 4 feet long. Feels like 2 feet. Sometimes I just wanna lay in bed plugged in using the usb power adapter and it is waaaaaay too short. Other iPhone people have said the same thing. I'm on here looking for a longer one. Mine already looks ready to break. And OMG 30 dollars for this? Maybe I'm thinking too Walmart or something. Seems too expensive but what do I know. I'm so in love with iPhone 3GS I try to overlook the shortcomings

Looks great but doesn't work that way

    Written by WS from Arlington

Just received two brand new I-Phones 3GS for my wife and me. Have not found out how the chargers work yet. Sometimes they charge, sometimes they don't. You have to unplug and re-plug them several times from the power outlet before they start working, and they do that on all power outlets in the house.

    It is what it is!

    Written by BI from Georgetown

Yeah 30$ might be steep, but your getting the power adapter and, and the USB cable. The cable alone is 20$ so your really only paying 10$ I cant complain I've had my iPhone for a year and a half now, and I am just now having to replace anything on it. Apple is a very reliable company, and you most definitely get your money's worth, but if you cant afford it just call the apple support line and they will replace it just like any warranty claim. You will have to return the broken device.

READ THE FINE PRINT - Don't buy an extra cable!

    Written by BM from York

    Oct 21, 2009

Understand that you need not buy another USB cable - there is one included with the adapter. It just cost me an extra $19 to learn THAT lesson.

Expensive, but you get what you pay for...

    Written by JC from Arundel

    Oct 21, 2009

I recently lost mine and was about to buy a new one, but it turns out it went through the washer and dryer. I let it sit for a few days, then plugged it in, and it was fine. You should use extreme caution if you are going buy one from a 3rd party. I am sure BestBuy, Amazon, etc are OK, but there are a lot of listings online that claim original apple charger and they are chinese knock-offs that look exactly the same. The bad news with them is that they are built poorly and smell / stop working after a short period of time. If you need a new charger, I suggest you just use your computers USB port, or pay the $30 for one you know is apple brand.

    ! Best i-pod wall charger !

    Written by NK from Shingletown

    Oct 21, 2009

    Apple does it again!
This charger is compact, durable and most importantly wont fry your i-pod or i-phone.
It comes with a small usb cord (about 3 ft long) and the adaptor is so small you don't need any folding prongs.
Beware of other brands of chargers.
They are famous for only working part of the time and/or frying your i-pod/i-phone.

    Broken at the fist use

    Written by AC from Richmond

    Oct 18, 2009

I got this adapter with my iphone. But it doesn't work properly, I have to wiggle it to get a good connection. I just got my phone less than 4 days ago and I have had to stop at Apple store 3 times to get accessories replaced. This disappointed me about quality control of Apple products. I have been a big fan of Ipod products. I hope that QC department will improve their processes.

    works great with iphone/expensive

    Written by DW from Scottsdale

    Oct 14, 2009

i love this product because we have so many ipods and it works great with all of them! plus, if you buy the iphone, it comes right in the box, so you dont need to buy it! but, if you do buy it, it is almost worth it, but it should be $10 at most.

Works good though still too pricey

Written by JD from Aliso Viejo

    Oct 11, 2009

I've had this for about 6 months now and I haven't had any charging problems until yesterday. I hope to get it replaced soon as this was somewhat unexpected. On the bright side, it charges faster than when connected to a computer and it works on multiple voltages around the world. If only it was priced more reasonably would I have more of these conveniently placed around my house.

    Folding Prongs!!!

Written by HS from New Freedom

    Oct 10, 2009

This is a modest, nice USB/AC adapter, but it needs FOLDING PRONGS! What good is a small size for, so you could carry it in a pocket and such, if the prongs are gonna poke you in the leg while the adapter is in your pocket? I have always known Apple to listen to their consumers and loyal customers. So I will hopefully see this product with folding prongs.

    Not for use behind furniture

    Written by DN from kunkletown

Don't get me wrong it's a great charger, but i plug mine in behind my bed and since the cable comes out of the back it increases it's volume quite dramatically. This could easily be fixed if the USB port was on the top or one of the sides

    Small but effective

    Written by CJ from JACKSONVILLE

    Oct 4, 2009

I just purchased this charger today after I read the reviews here. Althought it does have a small cord, you can puchase a USB extension cable at any computer store. If the prongs could fold, that would be a plus. Small compact size is great.

    Love it

    Written by LA from Greensboro

I have this adapter with the dock (MB484G/A) and find that I use it every day. I set my iPhone upright in the dock each night beside the bed to charge overnight while using the Night Stand application for my alarm clock. Yes, it would be nice to have a longer cord, but if I need more length I think I could use an extension cord. Not a bad fix till a longer cord is available. I even bought a second adapter and dock to keep in my travel bag. This combination is so small, easy to pack and convenient that it just makes good sense for me.

    need a longer cord

    Written by ES from shreveport

    Sep 27, 2009

i really like the size but i think it would have been better if the rongs folded up like the old one. Also why do the cords have to be so short? i'm in need of finding a longer cord so when i lay on the bed my phone will reach the bed while being plugged into the wall. and its way to expensive considering you have to buy a car charger too and most people buy more than one charger during their phones life.
