blew out 2 IPODS with charger

All i know is that as soon as I charged my ipod classic with the wall charger it will no longer take a charge and boot up. I sent back my ipod and got a replacement and it did the same thing with the replacement after using charger. Conclusion. Will not use this charger again.

this is great so you wont have to hook up your ipod to the computer everytime it needs charging....i want to know why they dont give you these with the ipods anymore.when i got my ipod classic a few years ago this came included but not anymore... anyways it is still a great product:)

for those of you who do not understand
converting 120V AC to USB power levels (approx 3-5V DC) is not an easy feat.

Doing this in an 1" x 1" x 1" cube that generates NO HEAT is by far the single most impressive piece of technology apple sells.

Digital switched power converters are expensive because they are complicated.
30$ is a small price to pay for such an efficient device

As one positive reviewer said - "ALL plug in phone chargers are a rip off." Sort of a weak defense, but all apple customers really ought to own apple stock to justify the steep premium you pay for these products.

Once you get over that (cmon - $30 really?)its a necessary product that you will find very useful and nice to have. Excellent form factor.

i think this is real better than plugging your Ipod or Iphone to a computer and if u don't have a computer it is way better

Although compact it is poorly designed compared to the earlier version which has retractable prongs. In one trip the prongs punctured two plastic food bags in my luggage. Silly design if not an oversight.

Great for thoes who done have a 24-7 USB port around. No more waiting for that 10sec ejection time, or having to worry about disconnecting before ejecting. Im giving it a 4 because of the price. I think it should be around atleast $24.99.

This is a very good charger for all of your ipods. I have used it with my nano's touch and my very 1st iPod it works very well. It is nice and small so you plug it into a power strip too.

I love this little guy. It's small and to the point. When it came in the mail, I was surprised of how small it really was. I can now charge my ipod wherever. I love fact that I can pretty much take my ipod anywhere now without the bother of bringing my laptop.

Little pricy though<<<only reason for lost star.

Handy and Works Like a Charm!

Mine came with my iPhone, and it is extremely handy. It easily fits in my pocket, and it makes charging my iPhone a cinch! Most of the time I just charge when I sync, but when I'm away from my MacBook Pro, nothing beats this handy little charger! If you have the old brick style charger, it's worth the upgrade for the portability!

The adapter is fine, but it's irresponsible of Apple not to post the power input specs on the product's web page. You need telephoto eyes to read what's printed on the adapter itself.

Specs are 5 volt 1 amp USB for iPhone 3G

The product works very well, most likely a very small switcher type. I've bought chargers designed for iPod and iPhone that you can find on eBay and they don't work at all with the iPhone 3G, that's my experience. In fact, one charger was so bad, it discharged the iPhone 3G.

I found one other product that can charge the iPhone, it was a Black 'n Decker Pocket Power backup battery pack, and it delivers the 5V 1A per the specs of the original iPhone 3G charger. A nice addition for backup power.

My only question about the Apple product is the price tag for the charger. It seems high.
