Very Exellent Product
Written by RP from FORT DUCHESNE
Mar 17, 2008
It's got a nice little body shape and it is portable and you can take it anywere you go but the best thing about it is that you do not need any cables all you have to do is just plug it in your wall outlet and it will come on and already to be used for any additional pupose use like surfing the Internet(Safari,Firefox,or just the internet and also surf the Itunes Store for your favorite albums, songs, artist,or even tv shows or movies or music video's of your choice, also that you could go to any room in your office, home, even any buisness place, remember that you must plug it in and believe me that it will work for you, if it works for me, it will work for you as the customer who will buy this magnificent Apple Product.

Great but not so great

I just purchased a 1Tb TC and used the AEX with Wireless N to extend my range but the range does not get much farther. Then I switched the routers and the network is awesome. THanks apple

Still not a WiFi Bridge
Written by WJ from Kalispell
Mar 17, 2008
This does NOT add Wireless Bridging (a computer on the ethernet port back to a WiFi router). Everything it claims to do it does well.
Apple's WDS (wireless distribution system) extends the range of your WiFi network to WiFi computers via adding more WiFi hotspots like Airport Express and Extremes. For more info just search Apple's Site or Google "Airport Express WDS".

It would be perfect if it would support not only USB printers, but also USB external HDDs, like the usb port on AirPort Extreme.

Excellent, yet affordable
Written by PN
Mar 17, 2008
The price tag gives you an AP, a travel router, a network extender, a wireless USB print server, a wireless link for speaker; or use it like a wireless client to your wired NIC in hotel room - awesome! You get the Apple wireless product features that are on other Airport products. I think it's a valuable product.
The plug in to power outlet solution avoided dangling wires and nails on the wall. If the power outlet location is not suitable for you, there's also extension cable called airbase that you can purchase, then this cutie will sit nicely on a table. If you need an 11n base station, or a print server, you can get this for sure.10 of 12 people found this useful

Seriously, it couldn't be any easier. It took me the best part of five minutes to establish a wireless network and share my USB printer wirelessly.
Simple, functional and unobtrusive.
Truly a plug n play product if ever there was one.6 of 7 people found this useful

Yes..increased in speed.
Written by MN from Albuquerque
Mar 17, 2008
I have the previous version of this device and I bought this solely for the purpose of speed increase. I have tried 3 different "N" device from Netgear, Belkin, and D-Link, none of those works well with my MacBook. I use Stumble Upon alot and I can tell you there is a significant amount of speed increase with this Airport. In conclusion...if you want faster speed...worth the try...and this is a keeper for me.

Works Great With My PC
Written by WH from Gainesville
Mar 18, 2008
I purchased this wireless router, rather than a less expensive one like linksys, because of the AirTunes feature. The router works great. It's always up. AirTunes is a neat feature that is easy to use. I packed up my CDs and put them away because, with the airport express, it is very easy to play iTunes through my home stereo in the other room. I would recommend this router on its strength as a router alone (even though it is pricier than some) because it is compact and easy to set up. But the AirTunes feature is what really sets it apart.

Good for a small space or travel, not to extend range
Written by ED from San Francisco
Mar 18, 2008
I purchased the AE with the primary goal of using it as a bridge to extend my network. I have a long narrow house with an active line only on the far side, and all entertainment paraphernalia on the other side and although some signal reaches, it drops on occasion. I placed the AE 3/4 of the way to the desired location and am afraid that not only did it not give much of a boost to my network, but it made it unstable. iStumbler showed an increase in signal from 47 to 53%, and the signal for both stations will inexplicably disappear.
I am sure it will be great for travel and work well for those not looking for the network boost, but that was not the reason I dropped $99. Hopefully I can reconfigure to make it more useful.23 of 35 people found this useful

outstanding product
Written by MS from Cincinnati

WOW! i just bought my airport express hotness at the apple store in cincinnati (best apple store in the world! - JD in the back is the MAN!). i hooked it up to my existing airport extreme network, and it was set up and connected in about 37 seconds. this thing rocks! i have my samsung laser printer hooked up to and my bose computer speakers connected in my room, and this thing works like a charm! go get one - you can use it as a charger for your iPod or iPhone too! the fact that they didn't raise the price makes it an even better deal. this thing is genius...

This is just buy and keep it as long as I live..
Written by YC from BROOKLYN
Mar 18, 2008
I bought it and play songs from my laptop fill up whole room, and print it out without getting near the printer, and set up is nothing I have ever done before. Just put the CD, and it connect automatically, and I just had to choose secret code, then.. I forgot about it. Other stuffs for remote printing is so expensive and too many wires after wires, and no speaker wire. You really going to keep it forever. It's just so right. By the way I have pc, and it work awesomely with pc too.

Easy to set up, easy to use. This puppy is so user-friendly! Nothing is confusing about it, especially the WEP incryption. ANY password will do, not some silly standard router nonsense.

PRINT: BAD.
After hours trying on my own and a few phone calls to apple technical support my printer (epson CX8400) just doesn't work wirelessly period.
LISTENING MUSIC: GOOD.
It works great with my home theater receiver .
WIRELESS NETWORKING : WEAK CONNECTION.
Not receiving good signal connection, so I'm better using the router I already had.

LOVE IT...streaming music is the way to go!
Written by PR from Chicago
Mar 18, 2008
One of the best Apple accessories...almost essential. I love being able to stream my music wirelessly & print without being plugged in...that's part of why I don't own a desktop. Also, great to take on the road when you stay at a hotel that only offers wired internet. If you are considering buying it...stop wasting your time thinking about it & buy it...you will wonder why you waited so long.

Better than ever!
Written by AB

I already had the 802.11g version of the Express, and I really loved it, but it just got perfect! I can now use my 802.11 equipped Macbook Pro from anywhere in the house to get great internet speeds and stream music even faster (I usually stream to a Bose Wave System's auxiliary port; it works great). Thanks again Apple!

Major Headache
Written by AS
Mar 19, 2008
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this thing. It's a great concept that has proven completely unreliable. I spent over 4hrs trying to get this thing to work for more than 15 min at a time. After you load the software, (Airport Express Admin Utility), there are a myriad of configurations and settings, NONE OF WHICH ARE CLEARLY EXPLAINED IN THE "MANUAL". In fact Apple has gone as far as to suggest you call you cable company for support! The cable company will, of course, promptly tell you to call Apple. Once I got it working, the software can no longer read the configuration settings for the device. The software patch was released 3/17/08, and does not seem to correct any problems. I've been trying to use this with a relatively new 24" iMac. This should be a no-brainer, but it has turned out to be a major disappointment. If I wanted to buy a product that needed to be reset every 10min, I would have just saved the trouble and driven my car off of a bridge. Apple has really soured the kool-aid for me with this one...
