I had a Mighty Mouse for 6 months and now it's dead. About 2 weeks ago it started to give me problems and now after some seconds of being plugged in it freezes and nothing works. I tried using it on my other Mac and on a PC and it had the same problem on all. I did enjoy the extra features like the 360 degrees scroll ball and the squeeze buttons and the mouse looks great.

some squeeze buttons are so touchy i have to turn that option off entirely! and some track balls are sticky, but thats to be expected for the amount of use it gets in a school setting. but not all of them have these problems. some work like magic.

but they all have one HORRIBLE thing in common: the tail. I loved them at school so much, i bought my own for my MacBook. What a mistake. No one told me the tails are only about 25" long.

I am right handed and the USB ports are on the left side. Once plugged into the left side and brought around the back of my MacBook to the right side, there is only about 10" (if even that) of cord left!! Giving you limited mobility and never ending frustration.

About 100 times a day i wish my ports were on the right hand side, or i pray to wake up and find my mouse has grown a longer tail.

I found the same problem with the scroll ball. I tried the canned air first before taking it apart, and it seemed to work. I will keep using it, until it sticks again and keeps me from scrolling up/down, left/right. Just direct the spray nozzel of the canned air, or air hose from compressor(low psi) and it dislodged whatever was jamming the ball.

I'm on my second one because the scrolling ball stops working after awhile. The first one was on warranty and I've only had this one a few months. It doesn't appear to be dirty. It's too bad because the little ball is my favorite part.

This mouse is... okay, at best. The tracking is smooth, the mouse fits comfortably in my hand, quick and painless to set up. A couple of issues that I have with it are the scroll ball, the "right" click and the squeeze feature. First, the scroll ball can become gummed up over time, even if you have reasonably clean hands. Second, the right-click is not programmed by default. You have to turn that on yourself. Third, the squeeze function I find sometimes gets in the way, especially when you have to reposition the mouse, and accidentally activate the squeeze function. Even during normal use, that can become annoying, so I turn that feature off. I find Apple's trackpads easier to use than this mouse.

So, I have had this mouse for a bit over a month (using it with a Macbook Pro). I was having some problems with the mouse skipping (i.e. the pointer would suddenly jump to a corner of the screen and I had to disable Expose because it was making me craaazy!). Some people were saying that even mousepads didn't fix the problem. I found one at Office Depot for $9 - it's by Allsop, it's very thin and flexible and can double as a screen protector when your computer is closed, and the surface is some kind of microfiber. Anyway, poof goes the problem!

As for the scroll ball, I fully expect it to give out eventually, but at least the tracking problem is fixed!

I've this mouse for a while but unfortunately I can't scroll down. I can scroll up and to the sides BUT NOT DOWN and this is extremely frustrating considering it's less than a year old and it's already not working. I've tried holding it upside down and rubbing it around with a damp cloth like apple suggests on their support page but nothing helps. Otherwise a great mouse.

Overall this is a superior product. My problem is that it squeaks EVERY TIME I CLICK! AHHH! Annoying to say the least.

However the track ball rolls as it should. Optical is precise. Easy to keep clean. You can program it very easily via OSX and it's a pleasure to use.

However I'm not the first that has stated that these MM's are squeaky. :(

For overall use I'd say 4-1/2 stars but due to the annoying squeak I have to rate it a 3.

I got this mouse standard with the iMac and the scroll ball stopped working after 4 months.... shouldn't be doing that. Everything else is really cool through style and technical design.
