Works great if you wash your hands

    • Written by from Boxboro

I've had the wireless version of the mouse for nearly a year, the wired version for about 4 months - they work fine without a hitch. But if you like to eat greasy food (or wash your hands only once a day) you're doomed to gum up the scroll ball and dirty up the bottom of the mouse (creates drag).

My keyboards are clean as well - some people tend to dirty up everything their hands touch so if you're one of those people you might not like this mouse.

    Mac Mini

I just got this mouse today and I love it, its works way better then all my other mice I have used in the past. The ball on top of the mouse is is very nice when it comes to the internet and other things where you have to go up and down and left to right, its nice they put all that in one button. Apple did a good job making this mouse.

Great.. and yes you CAN clean it...

    • Written by from Stony Creek

The Mighty Mouse is wonderful! I have had mine since I bought my computer over a year ago. I did have trouble with the scroll ball failing a couple times, but if you follow the online instructions to cleaning it, it will return to normal functioning. Highly recommended, but I just wish I bought the wireless one instead :-/

    Great Mouse!

Works great, best mouse I've every used. The scroll wheel does get clogged but you can clean it out with rubbing alcohol and it works like new afterward. Lokks great and works great. So what if you have to clean it every few months?

    Excellent mouse!

    • Written by from SAINT CHARLES

I have been using various wireless and wired mice for years, but the wired mighty mouse beats them all. Wireless mice depend on batteries to keep operating and previous wired mice I've used have been awkward. The wired mighty mouse fits my hand, the scroll button allows me to scroll not just from top to bottom but from side to side in side a document. Now I just need to get a second one to keep with my older laptop!

I love this mouse. I wanted the wireless mouse but it was a gift and works amazingly. The only problem I have had was when i used it in my bed were there are like bumps and won't work there but otherwise it has worked for everything.

    unbelievable mouse

    • Written by from West Warwick

I got this with my 17" intel iMac, and I've gotta say, what an improvement from our old logitec PC mouse! I love the ball instead of wheel, the side buttons are awesome for people like me who are constantly going back and forth between windows, and it has a very comfortable feel.
my only problem is that every once in a while, some dirt or dust gets in the little space where the ball is and it can't scroll one way or another. the solution to this is some forceful scrolling or simply blowing into the space to get the dust out.
all in all, a great buy for the money!

i got the mighty mouse when i purchased my mac pro well over a year ago and it's still working great. i haven't experienced any of the sticking of the scroll ball that others mention and the buttons all continue to function as they're supposed to. no complaints here, i think it's a great product.

Great Design, Great Usability, GREAT PRODUCT!!!

    • Written by from Fargo

After having the mouse for a week, I am thoroughly satisfied. Its sleek, white case looks like a single button mouse, but is in fact a stylish double button. It uses touch-sensitive technology to distinguish between left and right clicking. As for the people that complain about having to lift your finger from the left side to right click, I do this normally, so it really isn't an issue. Also, as for the trackball issue, I have seen no problems. As I have seen in other places, washing hands normally throughout the day and operating environment will make a difference in keeping it clean. One last thing, when I first got it I thought the click was way too stiff, but since having it for 7 days, and using it for 7 days, it has become a little more broken in, and is great now. Overall, this is a fantastic mouse, I wouldn't have it any other way!

I have loved this mouse ever since i got it, and was just about to replace the mice on my old computers with these new ones when I noticed it stopped scrolling!! DARN!! I was flabergasted, then I came onto this site and saw all the bad reviews and my heart sank... THEN !!!!!!! I did what the OTHER reviews said which is to rinse the scroll ball with rubbing alcohol on a Q-TIP and WHAMMO... IT WORKED PERFECTLY again!! So my faith in Apple is restored once again. I just wish there was someway for the other users to find out that this Rubbing Alcohol + QTip works like a charm. Dip the Q-Tip in alcohol and rub the ball around in the solvent for about one minute (maybe less will do) then rub the scroll ball with a dry Q-Tip and when the solvent dries, the scroll wheel works agaiin like a charm. Its faster and easier than the old mice that had to have the dust cleaned out of them, this is much less of a hassle, so don't despair, just pull some rubbing alcohol out of the medicine cabinet and your problem is solved!!!!!

I've used this mouse for several months now, and primarily because of the "Scroll Ball", it has offically become my favorite. The scroll ball enables me to be more efficient than ever before with my mouse hand, allowing very small movements instead of the constant back and forth motion to the scroll bars that old mice forced me to do. Tack on that you can configure the mouse to have a "Right Click" and it has quickly become my fave. Sleek design too. Bravo!

Cleaned the scroll and it works!

    • Written by from Burnaby

I was having a problem with the scroll button until I stumbled upon an advice on this page to clean it with alcohol. I used my facial toner instead with a cotton wipe and viola! My scroll button is working again. I was about to buy a new mouse. Thanks guys!

    Really good product

    • Written by

I've used this mouse before and I loved it! I really like the right-click option so you don't have to control-click everything. What's also really cool is that the scroll wheel has always worked for me and it has never frozen, no matter how dirty it's gotten! It's smooth and fast and doesn't jerk you around like those Microsoft mice do.

    BEST MOUSE EVER!!!!!!!!

    • Written by

This is the best mouse ever!!! I am typing on it right now!!! Yes, this mouse is really great. It has perfect feedback and I tend to make less typos! I would recomment this mouse to everybody! It is a two button mouse with a one button look. To program it to use two buttons, you have to go to System Preferances. It is really great! The only thing is that the scroll ball gets dirty and malfucntions after about 2 months but if you get some alcohol pads and wipe the ball with them a few times then it is as good as new. This is way better than the Apple Pro Mouse before it! Do not beleive in what everybody else says! They probably just want you to go and get a lesser quality keyboard! I give this 5-stars for truly being the MIGHTY MOUSE!!!!!!!!

Keep mouse in good working order use damp cloth

    • Written by from Orillia

Don't worry if you don't have rubbing alcohol you can use a damp cloth, it works the same. Dampen a cloth and rub the scroll ball in a circular motion. After a moment or two the scrolling functions are restored. Keep that money in your pocket you won't need to get a new mouse.

It's a tool to be used properly...

    • Written by

It is not only pleasing to the eyes but has all of the functions a person would need. The buttons are well placed- the squeeze, the scroll ball, and the left/right/center click are great. Like any tool, it takes a little bit of practice & finesse to use it properly.

And remember, it's a "wired" mouse, so the wire may get in the way at times. That's normal.

Great Mouse! Great for photoshop work, and other design programs

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I am a student at Otis college of art and design, and pretty much ALL of the macs here at Otis use either a wired mighty mouse or a wireless one. the only computers that dont use them are the pc computers, and the library macs.
Im not sure why people are complaining so much about the performance of the scroll balls, considering, at the school, each lab is used multiple times a day, and the mice get extensive use every day, i have never run into any problems while using these computers, i was so pleased that i went out and bought both the bluetooth keyboard and mouse for my macbook at home.
Overall a great functional apple product
