I have this keyboard from October 2008 and its the best I have used.
Its thin, solid, really nice looking.
The keys a low, so typing is kind of a faster.
The only problem is that i cant charge my Iphone from the 2 usb ports in the back, but i can live with it.
The next one probably should be with a changeble height (this one is fixed .. the heigh is good, but probably i want to try it a bit higher) and with a backlight keys.

The new Apple keyboard is a piece of art for itself, but there is only one flaw in my opinion. You can't use it with your iPod unless you have new aluminum iMac. I am using older version of MacBook Pro, and additional monitor so I have to crouch behind both keyboard and monitor in order to sync an iPod. Apart from that, BEAUTIFUL!

As someone noted a year or two ago, there is a problem with the build of the space bar. Specifically, if you hit the bottom--i.e., the lower edge of the space bar, the edge closest to your body--the keyboard will not type a space.

Theoretically it's possible to retrain your typing execution so that both thumbs ride higher on the space bar--i.e., much closer to the top edge, the edge closest to the C, V, B, N, M, "," keys.

I've already started doing that, on my first day of using the keyboard, with fairly good results.

The Caps Lock key similarly does not always activate--but I'm not sure why.

And of course there's the issue of the keys not being backlit.

Otherwise, the keyboard is great. These problems might normally cause me to give it only 3 stars. But because the feel and look are so amazing, and because this keyboard gives you a fully separate numeral pad, AND dedicated Home, End, PageUp, PageDown keys, I think it's a good bargain at $50 (current price as of 1/3/09).

The software install was seamless, too (firmware upgrade to the keyboard accomplished by Apple, Software Update).

I have an early 2008 MBP (15", 2.4GHz) and it works fine. Haven't had trouble with any of the USB ports either. I usually use an external hard drive, iPod, flash drive or M-Audio keyboard with the keyboard USB slots and haven't had any problems with them.

The only thing I'd change about it is that you need to use the Fn key to activate the F buttons. I'd prefer it if it were reversed so that you would have to hit the Fn key to change the settings such as brightness of the screen or sound level, etc. It's not that big of a deal; the only time I notice it is when I'm gaming, but you can usually reassign the key shortcuts.

Other than that, it looks real nice, it's easy to clean and I really like the feel of the keys when I'm typing. In fact, my typing seems faster on it when compared to the PC type keyboard I'm using now, at work. I suppose that's a personal preference thing though, so other people might find it difficult to type on.

When I don't have the mouse plugged in, only wire being the wire from the Keyboard, it seems to wobble and I can hear a noise from the keyboard as it seems to have warped/flexed in the middle, as if I connect the mouse to the LEFT USB port and make the wire go underneath the white strip thing at the top, I no longer near this noise.
I THINK this is because I could've... well... did... throw my phone at the keyboard and I think I've bent it.
I'm DEFINATLEY not saying this is Apple's fault, it's mine (without a doubt). Except normal keyboard wouldn't bend that easily. (Ex: I have a chunky Windows PS/2 keyboard, it's lasted me dropping bricks on it...)
So all in all it is a good keyboard. THE KEYS DO FEEL AS CRISP AS YOU THINK! They're responsive and don't hurt my fingers as some keyboards do (Microsoft's...).

I love the thinness itself, I just wish it was stronger...

Reading some of the reviews and knowing how particular our DTP jockeys in our office are (they all loved the old black Pro keyboards), I figured I would stay away from this keyboard. However, my wife needed a new keyboard, so I bought one for her to try. At first, she did not like it, but after a few days, it really grew on her and it became her favorite keyboard. Then, someone else from the office had to use her computer, and they got to like this keyboard too. Soon, I had to buy 5 more keyboards for everyone else in the office.

The quality is excellent. It is not squeeky/flexy like regular plastic keyboards. The only reason It does not get 5 stars from me is because we have notice that the keys are starting to stain on a couple of the keyboards. This issue has been mentioned before in this forum. Black key tops would be a great option to claim the fifth star.

I absolutely love the ergonomics of this keyboard. The keys are quiet and it feels like you're typing on a laptop. Typing is very smooth. I'm in love with it, it makes me actual want to type essays for school! One problem, though, is the caps lock key. It takes a serious push on it for it to respond. Most of the time when I'm typing and I try to push the caps lock key, it doesn't turn on unless I take the time to look at it and push it down harder in the very center. Otherwise, great product, I recommend it.

I love this keyboard. It is thin, the keys are a little weird if you are used to standard big button keyboards. And it's not to light, it has some weight to it, and that's probably my favorite part about it. I don't feel like I am gonna punch through it.

I love this keyboard.. and makes changing from desktop to laptop keyboards easier (I always have to adapt a bit typing on one vs. the other.)

I did find one problem. I am on system 10.4.11 running on an Intel based mini. I had to work some disk repair magic and the computer would not recognize the new keyboard for booting off the CD drive - I had to use the old keyboard to do this command. Apparently, there is a firmware update, but only works with 10.5 (or so the Apple support page said at the time.) So might be good to hang onto the old keyboard for a bit if this is your situation.

This Keyboard is awesome the only things that I do not like about it is that it doesn't have back lit keys which are awesome for night time typing, you can use this keyboard with windows xp right out of the box and to get the print screen buttons and so on you need a program for windows called sharpkeys. With VMware or Parallels I'm positive this keyboard works 100% and I would advise turning on the F1 thru F12 since windows has issues with the "fn" key. there are some issues with the control button not being control in windows but a right click due to mac OS X, and there are no settings to change it to a windows CTRL key.

Other then these dissapointments, this keyboard is the best keyboard i've ever used for button layout crisp button pressing and size. For gaming though I would use a G15 Logitech just because of the macro and back lit keys.
