I effing love this keyboard. It's so easy to use, but seriously, why do we have to choose between having a complete keyboard and having wireless? MAKE A WIRELESS VERSION ALREADY. There are enough people asking for it.
I'm a PC girl, and I would still go out and buy the wireless version of this even though I already have the wired one.

The cord is rather short, even with the extender. Once again, problem solved by wireless version.

This is a great keyboard. The key layout and spacing is fantastic and makes for very accurate typing. It's also nice and quiet to type with, which is important as I tend to press keys hard when I type, which can be very noisey on different keyboards.

.......but when it comes to the USB ports all I can say is 'WHAT THE!!!!'.

The two USB ports on either side of the keyboard are STILL lower power ports, and cannot even run a USB 2.0 memory stick!

Seriously Apple, nobody uses USB 1 memory sticks anymore, and you cannot even buy a wired version of the Magic Mouse so why on Earth would you include LOW power USB ports!?

If providing sufficient power to the USB ports is an issue, Apple should add support for an auxiliary USB cable from the Mac to the keyboard, or even add an AC power adapter, which would allow the ports to run at high power similar to USB ports that are now present on many monitors.

So this keyboard is great, but could be better with high power USB ports.

I upgraded from a little microsoft wireless comfort curve keyboard. I currently use the keyboard as my main keyboard on my Windows Vista Ultimate (64bit) machine and it works flawlessly. It was very easy to remap the F13-F19 keys to do whatever I wanted them to do. The only keys that do not work in windows are the eject key along with the FN toggle. To be honest I was expecting the transition to be ok with a minimal impact on my typing speed, however the transition was almost instant and I could swear that I type 10-20wpm faster. The CAPS LOCK key is fantastic no more accidental presses since I switched keyboards.
My only issue with the keyboard was the absence of windows drivers and software to get the full potential of this keyboard. I fully understand that it is intended to be a Mac keyboard, but windows drivers and software should have been provided. They're missing out on a large chunk of customers who will not try the keyboard as it states that it only works in OSX.

It is the best keyboard I have used. It is quiet, the keys are perfectly spaced and great to type on - the speed and accuracy with which I type has increased immediately simply because of the keyboard. It also looks great.

BUT. Why on earth is it not wireless? They layout and numeric pad are so perfect, that surely it would not take much to create a wireless version! It would sell. people would buy it. So make it! There are millions of people out there who do need to be able to input numbers rapidly into their macs, and it is a shame that there is not a version of this keyboard in wireless. Show your customers that you listen to their suggestions, and please bring out a wireless version!

I love typing on this keyboard and everything about it is great except the cord! I know there is an Apple keyboard that is wireless but it would be nice to see this design in a wireless version.

I type for long periods, and I've had to change to this keyboard since my wrists and hands started hurting from using my mac pro's keyboard, and I'm glad I changed. Less pressure is needed to hit the keys, compared to the mp keyboard, and I've noticed an increase in typing speed. Though I'm still getting used to this keyboard, I think I might need a keyboard pad for my wrists since the keyboard is almost flat against my desk. Delete keys work continuously for me. My only problem is that the USB port (though nicely hidden underneath) gets difficult to disconnect my peripherals from it.

Bought this about 3 weeks ago. I'm a PhD student so I type a LOT. Had a hard time deciding if I could compromise on the wireless and keep the num pad. In the end since the keyboard never leaves the desk I don't miss it. Turns out a wireless mouse to me is key, but a wired keyboard is fine. Using the laptop style keys has been fantastic. My typing is now faster and much quieter. The full size keyboard is a must for me...page up, page down, fwd & back delete, and nbr entry is necessary for me. Great keyboard, great quality, and USB ports to boot. Work the $. Giving it 4 stars only because I think Apple could have a wireless version of this but for some reason chooses not to. That would be a 5-star keyboard, to me.

Unfortunately, the keyboard has some manufacturing issues (as described below) so you're better off to buy somewhere local and reduce your turnaround time in case you have to get a replacement.

Problems:
I recently bought this keyboard from a local store and unfortunately the '[' key wouldn't respond most of the time (i.e. you had to press directly on the center to get it to register -- not reasonable when you're hitting a key with your pinky finger).

This is unlike the other keys where it doesn't really matter where/how I press them. I returned this keyboard and that store was out of stock so I went to another store and purchased another keyboard (obviously from a different batch).

The new keyboard had the same problem, except now it's the left arrow key! I'm going to keep returning the keyboard until I get one that works for me.

Bottom line: if you can get a properly manufactured keyboard, you will love it!
