    Died within a year

    It's a nice looking and feeling keyboard but this was my second one in 3yrs. Keys just stopped working. the caps/shift keys are slow to respond which makes it hard to type just about anything. Can't open it to clean/repair since it's glued and doesn't have screws. I like the general feel but the other things are a big bummer. For $50 I don't want to have to buy a new one every year!

    After 18 months of use, the entire middle row of this keyboard stopped working. I tried to fix it using all the methods outlined in the keyboard troubleshooting pages on the Apple site to no avail. It had to be replaced. There was no spillage, no Windex sprayed into it, no dropping it on the ground, nothing to warrant it breaking. Just normal, regular use. Obviously after reading some reviews I find that I am not the only one with this issue. Furthermore I find it very odd that all of the similar, negative reviews of this keyboard mentioning reliability are found less "useful" with more "thumbs down." I would think that a "my keyboard died in 18mo of regular use" review is much more useful than an "zomg I just got it it's so cooool" review.

    Honestly I find a keyboard that dies in such a short amount of time unacceptable, especially from a company that sells expensive products. I have never, EVER had a keyboard die on me. I'm pretty sure my first one from '95 still works. There's obviously something faulty with this model and Apple should care to look into it as I don't feel like buying another faulty replacement. Honestly, I'm not going to comment that it is nice, because it doesn't matter how nice it is if it dies so quickly. What an absolute waste!

    Great... BUT some keys just stopped working

    This keyboard is almost perfect. I loved it. Nice and sturdy. No need for recharging batteries. Keys are nice and easy and doesn't make a noise when you type, like the previous white keyboard. So
    Had it for two years now and all of a sudden the "m" "j" "u" and "7" keys just stopped working. No damage or fault on my side caused it. Through a bit of online research, it became apparent, that I'm not the only one with this problem. All the keys are in a row, and the apple store said there's nothing they can do, I must just buy a new one. :( Now it doesn't matter that I love it. It's not possible to work on it.

    Dead in 7 Months

    Worked great for 7 months of very light use - residential a couple days a week about an hour each time. Yesterday a warning window popped up saying "USB drawing too much power".
    The keyboard was the only thing I had plugged into the back of the IMac USB ports. At that point the keyboard died. Dead. As in not even the little caps locked light will not work. Checked the USB ports with other device and they work fine, so I have to assume that when the keyboard started to fry/die it started to pull too much power from the iMac. Love the bigger keyboard but wish they made it in a wireless version.

    Failure prone

    In the past few months I purchased 2 new iMacs with these wired keyboards. I prefer the wired models over the battery powered ones. Both of these keyboards failed quickly with similar issues of stuck keys or non functional keys. This forced me to buy a replacement keyboard due to the extensive time it takes Apple to replace failed components. Neither keyboard had extensive usage, just normal residential use in the evenings. I do like the feel of these keyboards but the poor quality is not acceptable. I would not recommend anyone buy one of these outright but select Logitech units which have never given me problems.

    Great Keyboard - but the white keys get dirty!

    I love the keyboard, but white keys? While they look pretty they get dirty very fast and require regular cleaning. I think using black keys like on my MacBook Air would be much better.

    I like this keyboard a lot. Have it hookup to MBP and it works great with all the features. Main reason I bought this over the wireless was because of the keypad.

    Wonderful keyboard. Looks great and performs just as well.

    The USB ports support all of my devices; iPhone, iPod, iPad, Flash Drives, so on.

    It even works in BootCamp!

    Excellent Keyboard

    I have experimented with lots of keyboards and this is my favourite.
    It isn't too light like most keyboards so it doesn't slide around while you type. The keys have excellent feedback and are soft to touch. It includones USB port on either side, one of which I use for the small USB adapter for my mouse.
    One thing that would make it better though would be if I was backlit.

    Apple keyboard with numeric keypad and 2 usb ports

    Although I really like the keyboard, the usb ports are not very good. There is not enough power to support a memory stick. It may support a mouse, but my apple mouse is wireless. I was given a lead with the keyboard, but cannot find out how to use same, as the usb at one end doesn't fit anywhere.
    . When I purchased the keyboard I was told the usb ports had improved and worked well with a usb 2. This is definitely not the case, so anyone purchasing one should know.. I cannot understand why Apple would put a usb at each end of the keyboard when there is not enough power.
    There are 4 usb ports on my Apple computer, and the keyboard uses one of them. So I really believed that the 2 extra ports were an asset.
    If there is a solution I would like to hear from anyone who has one. I purchased a 4 port hub, and it worked at first, but then refused.
    I must add that there is very little data on my memory sticks, so there should not be a problem with the latest computer keyboard.

    Please don't discontinue!

    I love this keyboard! I don't know why they didn't include the 10-key on the wireless model, probably just to keep its footprint very small. I don't mind that it is a wired keyboard because I never move it very far away from the computer anyway. I hope I have a chance to buy 10 more of these if they ever decide to discontinue them. It is so popular, in fact, that I know PC customers that use them! (I guess they are just trying to make it look like they are Apple customers!) This keyboard is a perfect height, the key spacing is just right and the tactile feel of the keys took less than a day of use before it felt like I had never used anything else. The engineering on this keyboard is spot on.

    Let down by caps keys

    Both the Caps and Caps Lock keys are very slow to respond, you think you've depressed them but find out later that you haven't, resulting in a lot of wasted time going back and correcting caps that aren't as intended. OK otherwise, but I wouldn't buy one again, sadly let down by this basic flaw.

    THE only keyboard I use

    These thin keyboards are comfortable, responsive, light, and easy to type on. I don't feel pain or discomfort in my wrists due to the thin design. I have two of these and use them instead of my laptop keyboard. Excellent in every way! THE BEST!!!

    My first computer was an abacus so I've been around these things for a long time, and I've cleaned keyboards dozens of times, always simply spraying some cleaner on it and wiping it down. Exactly what every manufacturer tells you not to do, however it always worked for me.
    So when I did the same thing with this sleek looking piece of equipment with white keys, it failed. Several of the keys quit working. Even the tried and true "blow it out with compressed air " trick did not work, even though it has worked on every other KB I've ruined.
    So after all these years of violating manufacturer's cleaning instructions I figure it's time to pay the piper so I didn't even try to warranty it, especially since i learned the hard way that it is not possible to take these apart.
    On the second one (the one on which the on-board volume control did not work from day one) I did it the right way. Dampened-down a soft cloth with cleaner and went to work. Now 2 keys no longer work. Now tomorrow I'm looking forward to making the 1 hour drive each way to the Apple store, waiting in line behind an army of "20-something's" (who conduct "peaceful" demonstrations in every city about how they can't get jobs yet always crowd the Apple store) so that I can return this one. The worst part is that on the 1-hour drive home I will have plenty of time to worry about if the logic board or power supply on my imac G5 will need to be replaced AGAIN soon, since it's been a year or so since I've had that problem to deal with. Sorry guys, I'm pretty much done with Apple.

    Keyboard lost it's 'snappiness' after about 18 months!

    I was shocked that after 18 months, the nice feeling you get from a key when you press it and it rebounds was gone! On my keyboard, the space and Mac keys both don't spring back anymore. Shame, cuz it's otherwise an amazing keyboard!
