    PC Windows Owner Very Happy

    • Written by from Brighton

I love this keyboard. As a PC owner I was very happy to have it just plug in and be completely mapped correctly on both Windows 7 and Windows Vista with no tweaking needed.
First, the stainless steel is great compared to the usual plastic of other makes. And the keys, they're so smooth. The type action is beautiful as well. I just can't say enough good things about this. My typing experience has been greatly improved. Apple makes good hardware. I'd own a Mac if there was software available for my particular business which there is not.
BTW the cable on this is just shy of 3ft but the extension cable that comes with it is just shy of 3ft as well. It's just perfect to go around the back of my desk and back to the back of the tower. Perfect.

    Love this keyboard!

    • Written by

I purchased this keyboard today to use with my old Sony Vaio laptop, and I'm already in love with it. Physical and auditory feedback are crucial to me when typing, and this keyboard provides the perfect blend of both. The keys yield with a soft touch, yet they have just enough "spring" & sound to let me type confidently without having to look at the screen.

My only regret is that I didn't buy one sooner.

    Perfect

This keyboard I have used for 4 years now and it is flawless. I must say it was awkward to use at first, but after a few weeks of use this was the best i have ever used. Why I'm typing this review with this exact keyboard.

    EXCELLENT USB Hub

    • Written by from fullerton

I love this keyboard because it makes connecting my devices easy through the keyboard rather than fooling around with reaching in back of my iMac. I highly recommend this to any desktop owner.

Nice tactile feedback, and works well.

    • Written by from San Francisco

Unlike the apple wireless peripherals, which in my experience tend to not work 100% or generate random input blips, the wired approach works every time. Apple have successfully made a product here with good tactile response and excellent typography on the keycaps. There was one small problem, with electrostatic discharge. Of course, the whole case of the keyboard being aluminum means that if you get a charge by walking around your office or whatever, you'll discharge it the moment you sit down again. But not to worry, I picked up an anti-static mat for about $16, a silicone shield to go over the keys for a few bucks and then all I needed was some cheap silicone glue for $6 and I could completely encase the aluminium chassis in silicone. Now I still have the great tactile response and full MacOS X key layout, with no electrostatic shocks. 5 stars!

Even spilling red wine on it...

    • Written by from Miami

It still worked for about 2 months after the incident, actually it is still working but I am getting a new one since some keys are sticky but then again it works. Two suggestions for Apple, as many others have done, make the same version with the numeric Keypad but wireless and backlit keys would be very nice.

    Three Years Running

    • Written by from Albuquerque

That's right, three years. I bought this keyboard in 2008 to use on my white MacBook and it's lived through two moves, a career change and a return to school.

It's taken quite a beating because I used to carry it to work with me daily for several months, where I used it (ten hours a day, four days a week) while taking troubleshooting calls.

Now as a student I write code in PHP and HTML5, and I use the keyboard constantly for that. Much more than I use the built-in keyboard on my MBP. Additionally, throughout all that time I have used it for near constant communication online, through Internet Messaging and Internet Relay Chat, as well as gaming (WASD or arrow key movement for the most part).

    NEEDS TO HAVE WIRELESS OPTION

    • Written by from Miami

I REALLY WISH THIS SPECIFIC MODEL CAME WIRELESS, WITH NUMERIC KEYPAD AND ALL, NOT AS AN ATTACHMENT. The attachment is cool for the wireless keyboard, BUT... on the ( current ) mac wireless keyboard the control, option, and command keys are smaller and the "fn" key is a pain to use. PLEASE APPLE CONSIDER THIS! Thank You!

    Best Keyboard Ever!

    • Written by from West palm beach

Been using this keyboard for about 8 months or so and it is by far the best keyboard I've ever used! The low-profile is great and it has a solid, quality feel to it as I type. I love it!

    Sleek, stylish... professional

    • Written by from UPPER COOMERA

This is an amazing keyboard. The design is excellent as you would expect from any Apple product. The two USB 2.0 peripherals are very useful for plugging in USB thumb drives and headphones without having to reach behind my iMac. The short travel keys are excellent and have a good, crisp feel. My keyboard does not have the launchpad icon on F4 but using keyboard preferences, I have made F5 open launchpad. I then printed out a launchpad icon and stuck it on F5.

The full size numeric keypad is excellent and works amazingly well with Calculator.app, "/" pressing the divide button, "clear" pressing the C button etc. One problem is that the numeric keypad does not work with Bootcamp. probably because I haven't pressed Number Lock but I don't know which button is the equivalent of that on this keyboard.

As always… backlit keys would have been amazing especially since you don't have the limit of battery life on a wired keyboard.

    Great keyboard!

This keyboard is amazing...every key you need is here...unlike on the wireless keyboard. Also, this wired keyboard has larger arrow keys, a number pad, and NEVER runs out of power ( no batteries! ).

    Love this keyboard

    • Written by from Manhattan Beach

I'm loving this keyboard much more than the wireless one, which I also own. I especially like the additional navigation keys and numeric key pad which is a great advantage if you type numbers frequently, like I do. I also find the two USB ports on the keyboard extremely useful. It allows me to attached my portable scanner and other items right on the keyboard. Highly recommend.

Why didn't I buy this before?

    • Written by from Proton Station

In early 2010 I bought a new iMac to replace my old G5. I had bought the G5 with the extended keyboard. The iMac came with the smaller, wireless keyboard. I really missed the numeric keypad, especially with spreadsheets.

Two things happened recently. I had wireless problems (solved, but requiring the temporary use of a wired keyboard and mouse) and I bought an iPad. I figured that if I bought a wired keyboard, the wireless one could be used with the iPad and the wired one could stay with the iMac (and I would still have the wireless one if preferred). Plus, I would have a wired keyboard (and I also bought the Apple wired Mouse) as a backup in case of future wireless problems.

Well, I was very pleased to find that not only could I buy a reasonably priced wired Apple keyboard, but it had the numeric keypad, too! Perfect. Should have bought it months ago.
