Work well on Mac and PC

    • Written by from Zurich

After years of really hating Apple's previous keyboards, the last all-white ones being truly terrible, the new feel came along to the Mac Book and now these keyboards. The spacing is fantastic and the feel is amazing to type with. I just wish Apple would be a little bit more expansive with their documentation. It took me a while to discover that I could turn off the pre-set function keys (Sound up/down/mute, brightness etc) in the bootcamp system panel in Windows, giving me the full range of 15 function keys to play with.

    IMac Keyboard

    • Written by from Beverly

Fantastic looking keyboard .. slim, matches silver color, 2 USB ... all good, but lousy in typing. Space bar is hard to press ... must be press just the right angle. I make too many errors in general. Feels like typing notebook keyboard.

    Fantastic!

    • Written by from Canon City

I just got this keyboard, this week. And love it. It is so nice. I don't want to stop using it. When I saw how thin it was I didn't think it would work, but the keys are so soft to the touch, that I have to watch myself at how I type. It has the features you want for you mac. I just can't say enough about this keyboard it is FANTASTIC!!!!! I wish they were made for my PC at work.

All touch (I mean pound), no action

    • Written by from Dallas

LOVE the look, but give me my old key board back..... This is a keyboard that wants to be all touch, but lacks the sensitivity - drops letters everywhere. I would stay with the old deep seated keyboard until they get the action right. We have an office with multiple keyboards that have been replaced with the old style or (worst yet) MS keyboards.

    European keyboard

    • Written by from Phoenix

Since I communicate quite often in different European languages, I have always wanted a European keyboard but could never find one in the Apple Stores or at Apple. But, a friend in Spain sent me one for Christmas. I cheated and opened my gift early.

Not only is it esthetically beautiful and comfortable but, now I can write using all those accent marks and letters that we do not have in English. There is both a $ and a € symbol. Finally!

It has taken time to really use the keyboard. There are new keys and some keys perform 3 different functions depending upon whether the ctrl, alt or cmd key is depressed with the other key. It was easy programming the Function Keys and my e-Mac has never looked this good especially now that Leopard, i-Work 08 and i-Life 08 are installed.

It was odd to see the USB port off to one side but I do like the extension USB provided. It is easier now to use my USB Flash Drive.

It is so typically Apple! Well-designed, well-made, well-presented and so functional. I am one of those long-time Windows users who switched in 2005.

    Great design

    • Written by from Toronto

This is a great keyboard. I have been using it for some time now and have no complaints. I am a very fast typer and I have no problems with this keyboard. The spacing is correct and it is ultra easy to use. Apple once again you have done a great job! Thank you.

    Pleasemakethespacebarwork!

    • Written by from Greenville

It may be because of my typing style, but it seems I have to hit the space bar ridiculously hard to get it to register, and I often have to slow WAY down to ensure I don't get joined words. Other than that, I like it... but this one thing is pretty important when it comes to keyboard usage.

    Apple Keyboard

Hands down the best keyboard I have ever used. My typing speed has improved dramatically. You can also eat your danish in the morning without worrying about the crumbs falling down between the keys.

    Poor quality

    • Written by from Springfield

Beautiful but fragile. Better keep an extra on hand because you cannot clean them with a damp wet wipe. Never press too many keys at a time. The most rugged apple keyboard I've used is for a G4 (and older but they are not usb).

They do not last long at all.

    • Written by from JOPLIN

After only 6 months this keyboard stopped working. The space, m, j, y, 6 keys all stopped functioning for no reason. Nothing was ever spilled on the keyboard, and it even had a protective cover.

    Breaks easily

    • Written by from Hopedale

I have already gone through two of these keyboards. First the left Shift key stops working, then others follow. It also makes this terrible noise when plugged in and not being used. Almost like a key is being constantly depressed when it isn't. I'm not rough on keyboards so there is no reason I should have gone through two so far.

    THE only keyboard I use

    • Written by from Oakdale

These thin keyboards are comfortable, responsive, light, and easy to type on. I don't feel pain or discomfort in my wrists due to the thin design. I have two of these and use them instead of my laptop keyboard. Excellent in every way! THE BEST!!!

    Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad

    • Written by from Fresno

    PROS: Keyboard

CONS: USB extension cable. WARNING - for Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad ONLY !

A sort of proprietary USB 2.0 connection that will not fit any other USB device or cable. As a result physical damage can occur if connected ( I damaged a cable itself and a 4 Gb drive due to this)

Apple please provide an additional replacement and supply via store of extension cables alone. I will gladly pay to get a new one...

    Thank you

    At last the perfect keyboard.

    • Written by from charlemagne

I got this keyboard about a week ago, and it is quite possibly the best keyboard ever made. Well, not everyone will agree with me I guess. But if, like me, you're tired of hearing noisy keys, and keys with too long a travel, keys that get stuck over time because of poor plastic components, and keyboards that take a lot of space on your work area, then this one's for you.

This keyboard takes very little space, is virtually silent, keys feel great without too much travel, and it looks amazing too! The touch can be compared to a laptop computer.

I am not a pro, nor do I possess a professional typist technique, so I guess people who are used to "full size, standard-typewriter-type" keyboards will have to adjust a little, as the spacing of the keys is somewhat closer.

My only (small) complaints: the "return" or "enter" key is a little too small to my taste, and the two USB connectors provided are not powerful enough to use recharge my Ipad while I'm using it. They still can, however, recharge it very slowly if the Ipad is in sleep mode.

Overall, for me it's the best $50 I've ever spent on a keyboard. But I understand people who might disagree with me. So my best advice to you is to go to a store which has one on display, and try it out for yourself before buying it.

    Poorly designed USB ports

    • Written by from Barrô AGD

The Apple keyboard is a superb product except for the USB ports: they're underneath the keyboard so you cannot connect a larger pen disc. The USB slot should be located much closer to the edge of the keyboard, or on the back, as in previous keyboards.

    It's the BEST

    • Written by from North Canton

I got a new iMac at work 7 months ago and it came with this newer version keyboard. It took a few days to get used to, but I absolutely LOVE IT! I'm a graphic designer and have no problem with the design. In fact, I type faster. I have an older iMac at home with the white keyboard and will order this new design for home. The older style takes more "finger punch." I think it must be similar to the feeling Liberaci must have had when he practiced with weights on his fingers and then, when removed, his fingers seemed weightless and just flew over the piano keys. I have worked as a full-time graphics person for over 20 years and have no carpel tunnel problems. For those with problems with the tilt of this keyboard, you may want to look at the height of your keyboard in relationship to the degree of bend in your elbows.
