    Compliments Windows and Mac Brilliantly

    • Written by from Toronto

I just built a new rig running windows 7 and I was looking for a low profile keyboard. Needless to say, I couldn't resist the sex appeal of the apple aluminum keyboard. I'm happy to report that I plugged it into my PC and it worked flawlessly.

    Numeric Keypad in Bootcamp Vista

    • Written by from Eden Hills

I've read a few reviews complaining that the numeric keypad doesn't work in Bootcamp because there is no "num-lock" key... All you have to do is navigate through windows' clumsy start menu to find the "on screen keyboard" and click on the num-lock key on that.

With this little annoyance out of the way this keyboard is fantastic. I love the low profile keys because it feels the same as my macbook air keyboard.

    The Best Keyboard Ever!

    • Written by from Benton

This is by far the best keyboard I have ever typed on... Sure it has a few extra "F" keys but they don't really get in the way. I love everything about it, the construction, the look, and its a lot quieter to type on than a lot of other keyboards. Thank You Apple!

    Wireless Please?

    • Written by from Haltom City

This is by far the most well designed keyboard I have ever come across.
It makes all of the others out there look like something from the early 90's.
The ONLY thing I would want changed about this product would be a wireless option.
(or perhaps a separate, matching, wired or wireless numeric keypad for use with the more compact version)

    Excellent tactile feel

    • Written by from HOFFMAN ESTATES

Love the solid aluminum construction. The keys are actually chiclet-type keys that are silent, smooth, and great for touch typists like me. I actually enjoy using this keyboard! (I've been a PC user for 20+ years and switched to Macs recently). Love it!

    Smooth, Fast Keyboard

    • Written by from Oklahoma City

I just bought this keyboard a couple of days ago and it is, without a doubt,
the smoothest and quietest keyboard I have ever used. It's short key
travel makes it fast and responsive and a real pleasure to use. It is
so sleek and takes up a lot less room on the desktop than other keyboards.
Apple, you have made another great product to accompany your
    great computers! Thanks!

    Worth the price!

    • Written by

As a fairly new Mac convert, I am always amazed by the research and quality inherent in every Mac and peripheral. I know it sounds gushy to be awed by a keyboard, but this honestly is the best keyboard I've ever typed on. I have a 1.5 y/o iMac at home and spilled fruit juice on the keyboard (old style with lift off buttons and wedge-shaped plastic bottom). For months, I typed only being able to use about three-quarters of the butttons/functions. I finally gave in and bought a new one, glad I did and wish I had done it sooner. This keyboard has a light, airy feel and actually aids in being able to type faster. Everything lays nearly flat, which makes it impossible for a klutz like me to fat finger keys. My fingers glide over the keys, and, best of all, my wrists don't feel tired and overworked after typing long documents. It also comes with an extender for extra reach, which I don't use and thank goodness for that because my puppy has chewed it up! I highly recommend to everyone that doesn't own this keyboard that you spill fruit juice on the one you have then go out right away and buy this one! It's one purchase you won't regret.

    good-
looks great works great with windows. feels great and type a lot faster and the USB is nice but not great the metal keyboard just makes you feel like you have somthing and almost like you cant break it but dont go slamming it against the wall might not be a good thing to do

    bad-
the USB ports will only power a device that has another power divice but it is very nice to have.

    overall
just go buy this keyboard cause i think that you will like it very much

    Epic Keyboard!

    • Written by from rockford

This Keyboard is Epic for a Million Reasons. First, its USB. that means it works for My PS3 as well as my PC. Also, it has 2 extra USB ports so I can use my Flash drive without snapping my Spine Plugging it in to the back of my computer. it is also very lightweight and thin, making it easy to bring from the computer room to my Game room. last and certainly least, it has an extension cable, so even though my Computer is a mile below, I can still make that cable reach it.

    Awesome.

    • Written by from Linden

This keyboard is excellent....if you know what it is.

Its the same type of keys found on all Apple laptops (the chiclet-style keys)...just be aware that it is essentially a laptop keyboard.

That said, I migrated to one after years of hating laptop keyboards and it is without a doubt the best keyboard I've ever used....for Windows! I don't even own a mac (...yet?)

    Love

    • Written by from East Greenbush

This is definitely the best keyboard I've ever used. Some people probably don't like that it's so flat, but that's the main reason why I love it. It's almost flush with the surface, and yet it still has 2 USB ports. The keys are flat also, and are thus quiet. I like the dedicated keys for volume and playback, but I don't really use any of the other function keys. I hate going to work and using my Dell keyboard. It's so loud! I love this keyboard and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

    The Best I've ever owned!

    • Written by from New Dundee

I own 4 of these and love them. On my new iMac 24 I even selected this unit over the unit without a number keypad. About the only thing I can think of that may be an issue is the white keys need a little wipe after my kids use one of the computers since the white shows dirt easier. Overall I love this unit and the non powered USB is not an issue at all for me as I plug most of my USB stuff to a MacBook Pro.

Simply the best and much better than the last

    • Written by from ludlow

I used the a1048 keyboard until it drank a whole cup of coffee and simply stopped working. I really didn't care much for that one anyway, and bought a cheapo Logitech to fill the gap. Still dissatisfied, I sprung for the slim aluminum version and...WOW. It feels solid and has a little weight to it. The keys are responsive and quiet, and with the slight gap between them have improved my typing! The extra function keys for brightness and expose are great touches and work well. I was a little skeptical at first, but this is the most comfortable keyboard I've ever used...and I don't really care for typing on notebooks. I would buy it again without a second thought.

    NICE!

    • Written by from Phoenix

In traditional Apple minimalist style, this keyboard does not disappoint. At first, I was a little concerned about the fixed height, which is really pretty flat. My hands seem to like a larger slope. But then, I'd heard about all the ergonomic studies that went into this keyboard, and while it seems really pretty basic, it actually forces your hands to hover, which prevents carpal tunnel. The key presses are very short, leading to extremely fast typing speeds once you get used to it. There's also a handy little extender cable if you need more space than the default length -- something my previous keyboard was lacking. The addition of several new function keys is a boon, and the overall feel is so similar to the Apple notebooks that you can transition back and forth very easily, unlike the split-key ergo style keyboards ala Microsoft Natural. The only negative I have toward the keyboard is its price. At $50, it's not cheap for being a pretty basic board. On the flip-side, though, you'd probably be getting a plastic keyboard for $30, and it wouldn't have the same nice feel to it. For what it's worth, I did check out a similar board from Rocketfish, and it was actually even pricier, and felt a LOT cheaper. Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase. :-)

Great Keyboard. Very easy on the wrist.

    • Written by from Denver

The ultra light touch is a big relief for the wrist pain caused from excessive typing!!!

Liked it so much, took it to work and tried it on a PC running Red Hat Linux.

Worked great, getting another one for work.

I had to get a new keyboard because I dumped a glass of water on the old one. If I would have known how much I was going to like the new one, I would have dumped water on the old one a long time ago!

    Amzing Product - 100 pros, 2 cons

    • Written by from Houston

Amazing keyboard, works perfectly with everythng, even in windows, it's so easy and feels so nice to type with this keyboard compared to common keyboards. Seriously there's no better keyboard in the world.

    However there are 2 cons,

    1) There's not a Wireless version of a keyboard with numbad like this one

    2) The USB power doesn't support many USB devices that don't have a DC current adaptor.

Since Electronics is my area of expertice, I know this is a hard issue to solve without have to, you know, plug the keyboard in a wall or waste 2 USB ports in the computer because there's not enough Watts in the +vcc and -vcc built in a USB port to support 3 unpowered devices that consume a lot of energy, but I don't know, either just make one built-in USB port that works with the majority of the devices or make USB port in the Macs with a higher current capacity.
