    Amazing but with flaws

    • Written by from Grand Bay

Love the function keys, design quality and feel. I can really fly on this thing! But it doesn't work with pre-OS selections like rEFlt or bios menus, despite the latest firmware upgrades. It's annoying to bring out another keyboard every time I reboot.

The USB ports on the side are almost useless, they supply inefficient power to the connected devices, so they're only good for charging and thumb drives if you're lucky.

Alas, its worth outweighs its faults, so I must suggest this product.

    Great keyboard!

This is a great keyboard. I have to have numeric for work and it is very easy to use like every apple product. No other keyboard can compare.

    Disappointed

    • Written by from DeWitt

My keyboard is just 2 months out of warranty and the keys keep falling off. Some of the buttons also get stuck so then I can't use the keyboard at all. I can't afford a new one so I'm stuck with a keyboard that doesn't function properly.

    The Apple Keyboard w/Numeric Keypad

    • Written by from seattle

I love the new apple keyboard. so thin my desk looks so uncluttered it's amazing. I don't mind the fact that it has a cord and find the numeric keypad very useful. I replaced my old iMac keyboard with it as soon as i got it and am now typing on it.

    Possibly, the greatest keyboard ever.

    • Written by from Prairie View

I have been through 4 keyboards for my custom built Windows PC. A Gateway, Logitech Classic Keyboard 200, Logitech Keyboard K120, and my best Christmas present ever, the Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. I'm using it now, and it's the best ever. Ultra-thin, awesome aluminum, thin keys, ergonomic heaven. This keyboard will help me get more homework done faster, and play online more. Thank you Apple, for descending from the heavens, and forming in 1976. To really reach your full potential with this keyboard and so much more. The only pain is I had to reconnect the keyboard a few times. That isn't even anywhere near enough to put a dent in the 5 star rating.

    don't like this keyboard

    • Written by from Dillingham

I have 2 of these keyboards and I find them very frustrating after a month of use. The feel of this board is good but the keys are too squished together. I have not been able to adjust to the key spacing and I'm constantly switching on the caps lock. I have trouble finding other keys - I'm no whiz touch typist but this keyboard is the most irritating I've ever tried since the first lap tops came out. I have small hands. I can't imagine how someone with large hands could type on these.

I don't like that there is no adjustment to the keyboard angle either, and that the mouse USB is at the end of the board - I get tangled in the wire frequently. Go wireless you say? No I don't want to support Duracell all the time.

Also I wish the caps lock indicator light was much larger. I've found in some light conditions the teeny light is hard to see and I've been stumped why I couldn't log into some stuff, to eventually see the caps lock on AGAIN! grrrrr.

Apple could do better just expanding this board by a few mm in length and width.

Love it... but why not wireless?

    • Written by from Austin

I use this keyboard with my Windows laptop at work. (I have the wireless version for my MBP.) With a key mapping utility, it works wonderfully and is one of the best keyboards I've ever used. My coworkers appreciate its quietness--I'm a keybanger, so I can also say that this keyboard is durable.

My only complaint about the keyboard as designed is the weird delay needed to engage the Caps Lock.

I would have paid $100 for a wireless one of these. Maybe more. Why, oh why, must I shackled with a wire just to get a numeric keypad?

    Excellent product!

    • Written by from Jacksonville

I purchased this keyboard to replace the bulky wireless keyboard that came with my iMac and honestly give props to Apple on this one. The keyboard is ridiculously thin and feels great to type on. The keys themselves are smooth, elegant and evenly spaced, a perfect combination for someone with large hands like myself. I was considering the other wireless aluminum keyboard, but it's no larger than a MacBook's keyboard and feels sorta funky for a desktop. In addition to this, the wired keyboard saves money on battery replacements, so it's a sound decision in terms of ergonomics and economics.

    Apple Keyboard

    • Written by from Lexington

Fabulous BUT..... don't discard the keyboard that came with your iMac. If you get into booting from CD or DVD trouble you just might have to hook up the original keyboard. Some keys on this keyboard don't work with the white iMac. Was my experience and others. Once you get things fixed you might be able to go back to this more fab Apple Keyboard.

    Key Mistake

    • Written by from Austin

Everything is wonderful about this keyboard except they moved some of the system control keys for no apparent reason. The disk eject and speaker volume was perfectly placed on the top right hand side of the old numeric keyboard. And the reverse, pause and forward keys rested perfectly over the other navigational keys.

To double up function keys F7 thruF12 and disrupt the natural flow of so many applications that already use this space is stupid. I wonder which designer made this unfortunate choice. I wonder what consumer has F13 thru F19 programmed for anything.

    Great Keyboard!

    • Written by from New York

This keyboard came bundled with my Mac Pro Dual Quad-Core Intel Xeon and I am VERY happy with BOTH. Ergonomics are Apple's goal and this keyboard doesn't disappoint. The right angle, the perfect distance key to key, the best font for key ID — plus two USB 2.0 ports? How can you beat that? Very elegant design by Apple. Love it!

    Where is the wireless version?

    • Written by from Concord

I own and love this keyboard except for one small technicality. It only connects via USB thus cluttering my desk with an extra unnecessary wire and occupying one the four USB connections on my iMac. The wireless keyboard Apple offers is totally useless for anyone who needs a ten-key for work or personal reasons. Why doesn’t Apple offer a wireless version of this keyboard like they did in the past for former keyboard models? Puzzled Apple fan.

Terrible. Failed after 2 years use.

    • Written by from Midland

Worked great for the first year and half and started having key problems (I never eat or drink anything at my desk. NOTHING was spilled on it)

The 8 key is stuck, cleaned underneath and it was already spotless, still the same problems. Now the o & 1 key doesn't work. Now am forced to use a hideous logitech keyboard as I can't afford 50$ for a new one.

    OK but not great

    • Written by from laval

My wireless keyboard came by default with my new iMac 27in system. I like the quality and fell of the keyboard. Its design is also beautiful. However its main drawback is that people like me, software developers, the keyboard is much too small, is missing page up/down buttons, and the location of the CONTROL key is just painful to use. CONTROL i s more frequently used than FN so I would have place it in the current location of FN, that way one can use the left hand pinky to easily reach CTRL-A CTRL-something combinations without doing a Houdini with the fingers.

    it just stops working

    • Written by from LAKE VIEW TERRACE

this is like the third one i've had to buy and now it's broken too.... all of a sudden the keys just stop working. one day it's fine next day - half the keys stop responding. i didn't wet it or drop it - it's just dead. i guess i'll go to a LOGITECH this time, even though i love the look and feel of this keyboard. at least it should last more than 3 months.
