    The Best Keyboard

    • Written by from Wentzville

The Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad is the best keyboard I have ever used. It is very comfortable to type on due to its slightly angled profile and separated keys. Additionally, this keyboard is one of the best looking keyboards on the market—almost unrealistically thin and light, and made from gorgeous bead-blasted aluminum.

    Apple Keyboard w/Numeric Keypad

    • Written by from Duluth

I used to read these reviews and say "well that is not me" or "what a shame" but now I've been burned....my keyboard works fine but I have had my numeric key pad for exactly a year and today 3/28/14 it has gone bye bye...so sad...I love Apple products and this is the first product that has failed me...sadly disappointed.

Great keyboard at a great price

I prefer a wired keyboard over the wireless model for several reasons. First, it has 2 USB connections on it second, it does not need batteries and finally, your Mac never loses it's bluetooth connection.

    Keyboard fail

    • Written by from Chicago

The keyboard has lasted me less than a year. The space tab failed soon after I bought it and have been struggling with it since.

Cool, but junk. Keyboard worked for less than 9 months.

    • Written by from Ivins

I bought one of these in July of 2013 and yesterday it failed. It's a wired usb keyboard for god sake, how tough can it be to make it last more than 8 months?

How come there is no warranty information on this device? I had a similar issue with a wireless keyboard and it just started acting weird after about 6 months.

    Lacks Durability

    • Written by from San Diego

I've bought at least 10 of these this year alone, multiple computers of course in a computational environment. I'd guess half still work. They break in a few creative ways. One is only recognized after a ritual of (dis)connecting it a few times. A couple of others refuse to work with Cinema Displays. A few others have unresponsive keys.

These keyboards attract a lot of dirt. I recommend cleaning them to our staff, which is probably where I got it wrong. Cleaning seems to break them. Maybe they'd last longer coupled with a cover, but I hate those.

Probably go back to tried and true PC keyboards. Not as sexy, but I've never had one break. Ever.

    JUNK!

    • Written by from Gardnerville

This apple keyboard crapped on me in less than 4 months. Worked when I went to bed, wouldn't work this morning. Poof, gone.

What happened to putting out a quality product? Come on Apple, are you so focused on mobile devices that you're now blowing off us desktop users? Many of us have paid premium prices for many years for apple products which is what got you (apple) to where you are today, and you allow a piece of junk keyboard like this on the market?

I'm typing this on a 10+ year old Dell keyboard I borrowed from my wife.

Would give it five stars, but...

    • Written by from Birmingham

This is my second keyboard - the same model. Apparently I killed some keys on my first one by scrubbing a little too vigorously on a couple of keys - I'm really surprised that it was so sensitive!

I'll handle this one with a little more TLC - I was lost for the four days that it took to get a new keyboard: I have really become accustomed to this one and like it a great deal!

Good functionality, but keys come off

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I love this keyboard, but several keys are coming loose after I have been using it for regular desk work for a year and a half. The command key, which I use all the time, is held on with Scotch tape. The asterisk key on the numeric keypad, which I almost never use, is also coming loose, suggesting that it's not just from heavy usage but may be a design flaw. Not the workmanship I'd expect from Apple.

    Poor quality

    • Written by from Springfield

Beautiful but fragile. Better keep an extra on hand because you cannot clean them with a damp wet wipe. Never press too many keys at a time. The most rugged apple keyboard I've used is for a G4 (and older but they are not usb).

great design- sleek, w/2-USB ports, and comfortable

    • Written by from Tracy

I am an auditor and business grad student; I work a lot with numbers. This is the best keyboard w/numeric keypad that I have ever purchased. I have been a long time PC/laptop user and when I switched to MacBook Pro the keyboard design drove me nuts. This keyboard made the transition so much easier. The keys are not as bunched together so that typing for long hours is not a problem; the added bonus is that it has the numeric keypad, which is very important to me. It is sleek, light, and comfortable on your fingers, and it has two USB ports. It is so light I and slim that I can even take it to class in my backpack. In addition, one of my biggest gripes about the MacBook Pro was that it did not have enough USB ports; this keyboard solved that problem. Now if only Mac would design a standalone numeric keypad (without the full keyboard alpha keys, etc.) with the same look, feel, and functionality, I would be even more ecstatic!

They do not last long at all.

    • Written by from JOPLIN

After only 6 months this keyboard stopped working. The space, m, j, y, 6 keys all stopped functioning for no reason. Nothing was ever spilled on the keyboard, and it even had a protective cover.

Perfect Design, Impossible to clean without braking it.

    • Written by from LONDON

Originally i had a wired keyboard which were very expensive within one week i cleaned it with a damp cloth, not even that wet just damp. then half the keys stopped working.

i decided to buy another one and be careful when cleaning, this time i never cleaned it once, yet just now i dropped tear drop sized water on my new one by accident, and to no suprise broken again new keyboard broken x2

this is a joke. i think a newspaper can handle water better than this keyboard.
apple really need to sprt it out, maybe a little common sense like a waterproof layer under the keys maybe like what other keyboards a fifth of the price $5 do as a basic thing.

oh well back to my old keyboard, i will never attempt to purchase an apple keyboard ever again two broken in two months with mear drips of water, your having a laugh this is a joke.

    Best keyboard

    • Written by from Tarzana

Love the feel of it. Most comfortable keyboard I've ever used. After years of constant use works same as day I got it... Just don't spill coffee on it. It does not like liquids and will not recover after a spill.

    Love this keyboard!

    • Written by from Niagara on the Lake

I bought this keyboard back in 2007 with my original MacBook.

Still works like it did on day one. Easy to clean, looks great.

FANTASTIC to type on. The keys are perfectly spaced out so there's less errors when typing.

Also charges your iPhone / iPod, IF your Mac has high-powered USB ports.

There is no better keyboard for your Mac.

    Repeatedly fail within a year.

    This keyboard is problematic

    • Written by from Ellensburg

One of these keyboards came with my iMac. I really liked it. However, one of the keys became dysfunctional. So, the keyboard was replaced under warranty. After using the replacement keyboard for a while; one of it's keys stopped working. So, I pulled out the old keyboard that came with my G3 and used it. Until today when some liquid got spilled on it. All of the bottom row of keys quit working from z-m. If I could get a replacement to the old G3 extended keyboard, I would do it.
I am giving the keyboard 3 stars because I like the keyboard, it was fast and easy to use. However, I need a keyboard with built in USB ports and most of the Mac keyboards I've looked at do not have those ports on the newer keyboards and I really do not want to spend the money to get a keyboard identical to the ones that I had problems with.
