Great new keyboard
Written by AR from Carlsbad

Apple has another hit on their hands and is definitely on a roll. I replaced my original apple keyboard with the new one for my Mac Pro since the original did not have a crisp enough key stroke...it seemed "mushy" sometimes...but now....amazing!

Apple New Wired Keyboard
Written by SG from Foothill Ranch
Aug 12, 2007
Hooked up the new keyboard today and its is a real site to behold. Very thin and lite weight. The new key design has a great feel and very large keys so you don't make many mistakes.
THE ONE PROBLEM I HAVE WITH IT IS the two usb ports will not support an ipod. I have the video Ipod and I get a warning that the USB power is too low to power the attached device. I bought this key board to clear away clutter on my desk and hopefully eliminate a few cords. Unfortunately its not true and I was disappointed. I am very much an apple fan but the low USB ports were a not as advertised on the website.2774 of 4372 people found this useful

For those of us who love the macbook keyboard, the new Apple Keyboard is an exact replica in size, key travel, and response. It is a joy to use and is now the most beautiful thing on my desk. I cannot wait to get the wireless version.

Today I went to an Apple store to check out the new keyboard firsthand- I immediately ordered one for my G5 iMac 20",which will keep me going until I very soon purchase a new aluminium 24"!
Great design and feels just right -Apple thankyou -another incredible product.4 of 7 people found this useful

Very impressed!
Written by RS from Bel Air

As a two-fingered typist, the new iMac keyboard was appealing to me as the space between the keys seemed larger than in other keyboards (a common source of typos for me). Thus, for $49, it was worth a shot.
My first impressions was wow!- really small keyboard-can I type on this thing? The answer is a resounding yes, and better than on other keyboards I have tried. My error rate is way down, the keys are quiet and very comfortable, and it takes up virtually no room on my desk.
I have not tried the upgraded software, as the keyboard works just fine without it. All my function key shortcuts worked without a problem, so I have to give this a very strong thumbs-up.

A nice addition
Written by SB from Santa Barbara

This ultra thin keyboard is absolutely eye-catching and does a great job at catching people's attention, "Hey, wow! Look at that keyboard..." Beyond the superficial, I appreciate it's low profile. As it prevents me from aggravating my wrists after a lot of work with less of a "praying mantis" pose and more of a natural hand position. And even though the spaced keys and rearrangement of keys (function keys particularly) are different, within an hour they feel right at home with a wonderful solid response. I am completely pleased with this upgrade for my Macintosh.

Lousy feel, poor redesign of the F keys
Written by MK from Jacksonville
Aug 13, 2007
The keys have a very soft feel and don't give enough feedback for the small amount they travel. The spacebar feels cheap and makes a plasticy click ever time I press it.
The placement of the expose, dashboard and volume keys is horrible. This isn't a laptop keyboard so why am I subjected to pressing the fn key to get to certain functions? Only buy this keyboard if you like the feel of a laptop keyboard, if you like the limitations of a laptop keyboard or if you just love pushing that fn key. It feels like a cheap toy and it is step backwards in keyboard design.29 of 57 people found this useful

Just shy of 5 Stars
Written by JM from Seymour
Aug 13, 2007
The sleek aluminum casing makes any desktop look great. That combined with its low profile keeps it out of the way, seeming to give you more desk space (although probably not).
The 2 side USB ports are great, easy to access, and easier to use then its predecessor which placed the ports in the back by the wire which made the original model very inconvenient.
This is by far worth the money, and is an excellent replacement to the other keyboards.
2 problems, decreasing from 5 to 4 stars:
1. They provided a USB adapter to lengthen the USB cord connecting to the back of the computer. Instead of providing a "universal" one to be used in the side USB ports, they made a small notch in the USB connection so that you can ONLY use it as a keyboard plug extension. This limitation was a disappointment, as you may want to extend the length of the peripheral you're plugging into the keyboard, not just the keyboard wire itself.
2. F3 and F4 functions are not working for me, even after the software update. These are supposed to be Expose functions, but do not activate "all windows" or "dashboard" as indicated. I have tried reinstalling everything, and hope that Apple will have a fix. The current fix would be to assign expose functions manually to alternate F keys.
Hope this helped!13 of 15 people found this useful

BUENO!!!

Overall it's a good keyboard. BUT I WISH THAT THE WIRELESS HAD THE NUMBER PAD ON THE RIGHT!!!! Some people use that thank you very much. That's my only nag. I would have gotten the wireless but i need the number pad so i got stuck with the wired. It's solid and types well. It take s a little getting used to from other mac keyboards (besides the Macbook). But that'll pass.

I love the new keyboard. But there is only one thing.I hate the white keys.Come on apple black keys would have been much better. At least give the customer a choice. That why i kept three of the old keyboards with the black keys.I hate white!!!!!!!!!But other than that its great. And illuminated with the ambient light like the mac book pro would have been nice.

Great but...
Written by AL from Warrenton

The keyboard is great. I like the feel and the key response. The only grip I have is the USB ports. They are on the side of the keyboard instead of the middle. It bunches up the mouse cable when it is in my keyboard tray. I also like not getting any junk between the keys with the new design (3 kids always eating while on the computer). Highly recommended.

Solid but the F keys are too small.
Written by TS from VALLEY VILLAGE
Aug 14, 2007
The keyboard is solid and well made but if you have large hands the F keys up top are just too small. I understand the desire to make things less bulky and more streamlined but they went too far this time. Their decision to combine some off the other controls (volume, etc) with the F keys is just not helpful for how I work.

Outstanding and Gorgeous
Written by MG from Pensacola

This keyboard is the reason why I love Mac so much. Looks and Quality. I am replacing the first FP iMac keyboard with this one. All I can say is, "No comparison".
The keys have a great feel about them. The low profile is nicer for typing.
The quality is second to none. Sturdy for such a thin keyboard.
The looks? A beauty to behold! I was at Office Depot last night and looked at their keyboard display. What a joke compared to Apple's keyboard.
Thinking of upgrading your present keyboard? Think no more. Go out and get one.8 of 11 people found this useful

OUTSTANDING
Written by SM from Port Coquitlam

Apple has outdone themselves this time. This is a true leap from the last generation of Apple keyboards. The new key placement is not at all a problem, but then I'm used to Jumping in between my MacBook and other iMacs. As for the USB ports it’s the same as the old keyboards, don't be surprised if it wont power your power-hungry iPod. C’mon' did you really think that splitting 1 USB port into 3 wouldn't make a difference?!
An outstanding product by apple, again. Highly Recommended!9 of 12 people found this useful

Nice addition to one's Mac.
Written by MS from Fort Bragg

Got the keyboard today, very sleek, very modern looking, all keys work well, for those used to laptop keyboards you'll feel right at home. The additional keys are useful. be warned this keyboard is THIN and sits low to your work surface. Nice USB ports on either end of keyboard also. Good job design team....me like it alot.
