    Love it!

Written by MD from Winter Haven

I had to get a new keyboard because I dumped a glass of water on the old one. If I would have known how much I was going to like the new one, I would have dumped water on the old one a long time ago!

    Amzing Product - 100 pros, 2 cons

    Written by JD from Houston

    Jun 6, 2009

Amazing keyboard, works perfectly with everythng, even in windows, it's so easy and feels so nice to type with this keyboard compared to common keyboards. Seriously there's no better keyboard in the world.

    However there are 2 cons,

    1) There's not a Wireless version of a keyboard with numbad like this one

    2) The USB power doesn't support many USB devices that don't have a DC current adaptor.

Since Electronics is my area of expertice, I know this is a hard issue to solve without have to, you know, plug the keyboard in a wall or waste 2 USB ports in the computer because there's not enough Watts in the +vcc and -vcc built in a USB port to support 3 unpowered devices that consume a lot of energy, but I don't know, either just make one built-in USB port that works with the majority of the devices or make USB port in the Macs with a higher current capacity.

    Cool but bad USB

    Written by CF

    Jun 5, 2009

The keyboard is very good to use, even better than the one included in my MacBook. But the USB is bad... it will support an pendrive or an camera, but those USB powered HD will fail. And unfortunately, that's my case.

I have Mighty Mouse to save in order to one USB port. But this keyboard is wasting that port giving me two low power USB ports. Bad trade (in my opinion).

    Elegant and Feature Rich

    Written by GL from Wendell

    Jun 4, 2009

First, I will qualify myself by saying I've used every Apple keyboard since 1985. That said, this is by far the best Apple has ever produced. Sturdy, minimalist yet feature rich, and beautiful sitting on your desk, this may be the first design I have used--Mac or PC--which doesn't feel like you are fighting it. Your fingers feel more 'connected' without having to push large bulky buttons, and the keys have a light surfaced texture, rather than a slippery polished feel. Finally the keyboard is no longer trying to be a typewriter. Everyone using an older model keyboard should look at this, especially PC users, because this design makes most PC keyboards feel like junk. You can pay a lot more than $49.00 for a keyboard, but you won't get one that feels better than this one.

    2 issues

Written by MD from Central Point

    Jun 2, 2009

The keyboard is decent, but I have 2 issues with it. First, why is there no black option? My chrome with white keys keyboard looks years old now, and I've only had it about 6 months. Second, there needs to be an ergonomic version. The MS keyboard I used with my PC was much more comfortable and never looked dirty.

On the plus side, the keyboard works perfectly and I like having the USB ports built in to it.

    Handsome but USB connection/detection problems

    Written by PL from CLEMSON

    May 26, 2009

This handsome keyboard has two usb ports. Sounds convenient, but if you keep a wired mouse plugged into the keyboard's usb port-- which is the device you are most likely to leave connected-- neither the keyboard nor mouse are detected when you plug in the keyboard. Therefore every time I re-attach the keyboard, I must first detach the mouse, attach the keyboard, and reattach the mouse. Perhaps this is the fault of my PowerBook G4, and its ports, but this now seems an unanticipated flaw with the keyboard.

    Happy with it

    Written by M* from Woodbine

    May 25, 2009

I've been using the Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad for nearly a year.

I don't have any complaints. The 'feel' of it is different from other keyboards I've used. This is something with which I've grown quite comfortable. I actually much prefer it to others now.

Would recommend this product to any interested party.

    Best keyboard ever!

Written by DF from East Brunswick

    May 20, 2009

I just received this in the mail today for my windows pc. It is the best keyboard ever! It's small, comfortable, and it works great. This is by far the best keyboard anyone could ever buy!

My only complaint though is that the bottom of the keyboard get full of dust and dirt very easily because of the material it's made out of.

The best keyboard you'll EVER use!

    Written by PO from Parksville

    May 19, 2009

When i purchased this keyboard, i thought I'd like it because i have a older macbook Pro. (purchased just before the current ones came out...man, was i annoyed) To me, it seemed the feel would be similar, and it is. I'd say the new keyboard has a little more spring to the keys though, they feel a little more firm, and i think that's a benefit. It took me a little while to get used to the key placements, since there are small spaces between the keys. I've only had it for a day or so, and its already made me regret not buying it sooner. Also note, if you plan to use a wrist pad or anything which will elevate your hands off the surface the keyboard rests on, be careful, i learned the hard way. This is designed to be comfortable on a desk, thus the thin shape, so if you're using it in a keyboard tray with a wrist rest, be prepared to either modify the tray, or use a book. My one complaint is the space bar. to me it feels a little soft. It doesn't have quite the spring and resistance the other keys do. It doesn't really change anything for ME, but if you let your thumbs rest on the space bar, you're going to overwork office's auto correct to no end. :)
I would also like to mention the the weight of the keyboard. In every other review its labeled as "sturdy". I would most defiantly agree. The bottom of the keyboard IS plastic, but it feels like its 1/8 of an inch think, it feels solid, rather than a piece of plastic with a thin piece of aluminum over it should. Its a beautiful design.
You know, if i was using a PC for some ungodly reason, i'd still buy this keyboard. That's how good it is.
Just remember, don't get discouraged jsut because it feels funny for day or two, you'll get used to it.

Better than keyboards costing twice as much

    Written by JO from Tacoma

    May 19, 2009

No keyboard can totally meet the needs of every user, but this one comes close. We have keyboards in our office that cost over $200 that are inferior. The only complaint I have is that moving from my Macbook Pro (silver Keyboard) to this one takes a period of adjustment with a lot of errors. The difference in key shape and spacing is very noticeable.

I notice some complaints here about this keyboard failing to provide sufficient power for some USB devices. I would like to point out that no keyboard will produce more power than the source to which it is connected. If you connect this keyboard to a low power source, you can not expect it to power a high power device.

this is a nice keyboard, lovely ... doesnt ever get that 'you need a hazmat suit to sit there' look to it .. BUT ..if you have an iMac and try to eject a stuck DVD or CD forgetaboutit .. it doesnt work. We had to schlep our iMac into the Apple Store after a very competent phone tech walked us thru several ejection processes none of which worked ... the genuis at the Apple Store on 5th Ave in NYC said 'you have the wrong keyboard, this one wont eject stuck DVD/CDs' ...HELLO .. Apple doesnt sell the 'old' ones anymore ... so Apple .. why doesnt this keyboard eject stuck DVDs??????????

    well worth it

    Written by DH from Phoenix

    May 9, 2009

Bought this about 3 weeks ago. I'm a PhD student so I type a LOT. Had a hard time deciding if I could compromise on the wireless and keep the num pad. In the end since the keyboard never leaves the desk I don't miss it. Turns out a wireless mouse to me is key, but a wired keyboard is fine. Using the laptop style keys has been fantastic. My typing is now faster and much quieter. The full size keyboard is a must for me...page up, page down, fwd & back delete, and nbr entry is necessary for me. Great keyboard, great quality, and USB ports to boot. Work the $. Giving it 4 stars only because I think Apple could have a wireless version of this but for some reason chooses not to. That would be a 5-star keyboard, to me.

you may have problems with the usb because...

Written by MH from Marco Island

    May 8, 2009

It clearly states on the mac website, when looking at a new mac keyboard, that the usb ports will not support iPods or other attachments that require more power than a flash drive unless hooked up to an aluminum iMac

So before writing a review, do your research.
