    WONDERFUL! !

    • Written by from Lyons

I sleep with these on because i suffer from insomnia and need to listen to music or podcasts to get to sleep, I don't even feel thee earbuds in my ears. The volume and pause function is great! The sound is cool. Too good at times when you get a podcast with bad sound.

I have bought 3 pairs for me and family members.

The case is not only handy, but very cute. All in all I would recommend for anyone.

I am a picky person, return so many things I buy, but these I've had for 7 months with no problems, so I'll keep them. :)

    Fantastic!

These are the best headphones you can have! They never blow out and since it blocks out noise you don't have to play them so loud. I've had mines for a year already and they never failed me. They are pricey but are worth your money! Too bad something happened to mines so I have to buy another pair ): BUY THEM! Trust me, they're worth it!

I love these headphones! They fit so comfortably (more so than any other pair I have ever worn and I have owned many many pairs of headphones)! The sound is great too!

its good but the line seems not good at all.

    • Written by from calgary

the sound of the earphone is really good but the line is always curly, it is really annoying when you put in your pocket, try to take it out and use it, it ties together. it always take me about 3 minutes to get it ready to use.

    DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

    • Written by from Berlin

I've had three pairs of these headphones, the apple store has replaced them twice but I have experienced the very same problems with all of them, and am about to throw my last pair away after writing this review.

    The probelms are:

    1. Small electric shocks in the ears.

    2. When using them whilst jogging/cycling after a certain time they randomly activate the 'voice control', fast forward/rewind music and randomly adjust the volume. This is really annoying if you use your iPhone/iPod for sport. Once the problem begins the headphones can't be used for sometime afterwards.
I am not sure if this has something to do with breathing sounds in the mic, or maybe sweat getting into the remote section on the cable. If it is due to sweat the remote should be made thoroughly waterproofed - especially for this price!
I have brought this up on online discussion forums (as have many others) and asked Apple directly but they have never responded, although they must be aware of these faults as so many people are experiencing the same problems.

    3. With all the pairs I have used suddenly the remote stops working completely: no volume control, skip function or telephone ability. Each time after only a few weeks of use.

    4. They are (like most in-ear headphones) supplied with three pairs of rubber in-ear plugs which fall off and get lost very easily. The supplied plugs are 1 pair each of small, medium and large. If you lose one you have no replacement in the correct size. Furthermore it is impossible to buy replacement rubber in-ear plugs in one size; they are all sold in pascks of S, M, & L. So you waste money and materials buying plugs which you cannot use.

    5. With two pairs I've also had this problem: Although plugged in correctly the sound comes from the iPhone speaker and nothiing comes through the headphones - so they are completely useless!

Don't waste your money on these headphones! The sound quality is good but you can get just as good sound quality and reliability at a better price.

    Not worth $80

    • Written by from Glastonbury

These headphones started off great. They had multiple attachments that fit perfectly in my ear, and stayed in. They blocked out other sounds and were a good set of headphones. Then in about a month after purchase, the attachments started constantly falling out, even when removing them from my ear, the gel would stay in. I had to find ANOTHER BRAND OF ATTACHMENTS that fit my ear better and stayed in. That worked fine until one day, I was listening to music, not loud or anything, and the bass became staticy and the entire sound in one ear gave out. That was 3 months after purchase. I tried using canned air to get possible dust out, but they still wouldn't work. Hopefully I can get my money back, because they are definitely not worth the $80 I spent

Keep looking - there are better headphones

    • Written by from Alexandria

I'm a fan of Apple's computers, iPods and iPads. These headphones are among the worst products I've seen Apple produce. For $80, you can get better headphones. And with $34.2 billion in profits in 2011, Apple should stand by its products.
It took a week for the flaws to show. The sound quality at first was disappointing but adequate. One in three sets of earbuds nearly fit. Then came the field test. Within days the tiny screens inside were collecting ear wax, dust and lint. I attempted to clean them, with limited success. (Even a few blocked or damaged screen openings will muffle sound.) Fortunately Apple gives you a spare set. Well, that lasts the week, and then you're back to cleaning screens and wondering why recordings sound so much louder on your old headphones that came free with your BlackBerry.
I used these for transcription at work as well as music. I thought my recorder had failed -- the loss of volume and quality was severe.
I didn't feel compelled to write a review until I began losing the removable earbuds. These fit the headphones nicely at first. Then the plastic stretches, and they begin to pop off with minimal resistance. A few weeks after my purchase, the only time the earbuds stayed in place was when I had them in my ears or hands. I've searched bags, shelves, under couches and desks, and across city streets, eventually finding them every time. Last night, I wasn't so lucky. I took one earbud out to answer the phone and knew right away it was gone. It disappeared in the dark on a busy walkway of gray granite. I never found it.
Apple makes a big deal of not letting you return these once the package is open. I wonder why.

    some good, some bad

    • Written by from Battle Creek

The good: Very confortable, good sound. The bad: the silocone tips fall off all the time, if you don't notice right away and find them- your out of luck as there is no apple replacement parts and no other brand I've found will work. I've replaced mine once, but won't again as I've researched other brnads and they have just as good of sound and are almost as confortable. Also, the inner ear part came off and there is a replacement for it in the initial packaging, so make sure you keep it!!

    Don't lose the ear tips.

    • Written by from Farmington Hills

These headphones are awesome until you lose the ear tips. Apple doesn't sell replacement ear tips. When you lose one of the ones in your size, you have to buy a new $80 pair of headphones. You can buy replacement ear tips on eBay but you're wasting time and money. They are poorly made and uncomfortable.

    Fine

    Great Apple's design!!!
Very small earphones. Good mid frequency and high, but low is very weak =(
For that cost can be better...
If you wanna more "live" and deep sound try another brand, like Sure...

    Cannot replace silicone tips

    • Written by from Los Angeles

These headphones work and sound great, except for two things- One, your voice doesn't loop back through the in-ears, so with the sound isolation it feels really unnerving, like speaking on the phone with earplugs in. This isn't the end of the world, but what's REALLY shameful is once you lose your silicone tips, you cannot replace them; you have to buy a whole new set of $80 headphones. There is no flange so they fall off easily. I have only had mine for 2 months and already they are useless.

good, but they don't fit well.

    • Written by from Edmonton

These headphones had some awesome sound, and I also loved how they came with a little case to put them in. The only problem I had was that they didn't fit my ears right. They would always fall out no matter what I tried. When they were in, they would block out any outside noises. But then they would slowly fall out. I ended up returning them for a refund because of that one little flaw.

    Not worth the price

    • Written by from Denham Springs

I have bought 1 pair of the headphones and the right ear gave out, so I bought another pair. The left ear of the second pair gave out. I spend WAY too much money for the ears to go out shortly after I bought the headphones. I think I will go buy a cheaper pair of in-ear headphones because I can't afford to buy the Apple hadphones anymore.

Plus side--They fit my ear and were a good quality sound.

Great Headphones Especially If You Have Tiny Ears

    • Written by from Newark

The sound produced by these headphones are tremendous. I had tried a few other brands but found that I was disappointed with the sound and that the earbud was too large for my ears. With the multiple choices available I was finally able to use a terrific set of headphones. The only problem that I have is that the earbud covers do have a tendency to come off very easily at times. It seems to be a sporadic problem. They do have to be kept in their case, but I don't find this to be a problem, as it does keep them protected. These are comfy enough that I have fallen asleep with them in and they were still in place after hours. I use mine with my iPad and iPod Touch. For the price they are well worth it.

I really really really wanted to LOVE this headphone. but it was just not for me. the headphone itself is extremely well made. it kinda fit okay. the medium plug is a tap small but the large plug was way too big. and the sound quality was not as good i have expected. I am sad and disappointed.

    Great headphones for the price!

    • Written by from Las Cruces

I have a pair of $500 Shure headphones and of course the sound quality of the in-ear by Apple isn't quite as good but it's darn close. These headphones are definitely a much more comfortable fit than the stock earbuds, and the sound quality isn't even worth comparing, the earbuds sound really bad, the bass response with the silicon in-ears is much better.

I have to say that I've had to purchase two sets in just over a year. These are not headphones that are meant to be stuffed in your pocket. Use the provided case and they'll last a lot longer.

For the price you really can't beat these headphones though. You can spend more money and you'll always get what you pay for (Shure replaced one set of my headphones free, and the Beats by Dre are flat awesome as well) and for $80 bucks these are really nice headphones. The fact that they come with a set of extra earwax grills is awesome. Wax is a true nuisance to any in ear headphone and these deal with it nicely. Just remove the set of dirty grills and clean with alcohol and use the spares in the mean time. No tools like a pair of Shure's.

All in all my only complaint is the fact you have to use the case, but that's the same as with all high end headphones so I can't fault Apple for that. If you don't care for your headphones they just won't live as long.

    Good sound and fit...bad lifespan

    • Written by from Marietta

I've had two pairs of these headphones, and they are absolutely GREAT while they last...however both pairs have broken within two months. At $80 a pair you would expect them to last long, but they don't seem to, at least for me. I would love these a lot better if they would last longer.

Best headphones if other earbuds won't stay in

    • Written by from DALLAS

I have never been able to wear earbuds because they always fall out of my ears. These headphones are perfect for those that are not anatomically made for regular earbuds. They fit in snug and don't fall out. It's almost like these were made perfectly for me. By the sound of many of the reviews if your ear canal is too small they may not fit, but if regular earbuds generally don't work for you, i.e. fall out, then definitely give these a try.
