They work for iPod too!
Written by MM from Bentonville

Buy these headphones even if you don't have an iPhone. They are very comfortable, and the sound quality is great. Plus they have a feature where you can greatly reduce the volume that make them great for listening to music while conversing with people!

Includes a call answer feature....
Written by CP from Jacksonville
Jul 7, 2007
These earphones include the ability to answer phone calls by squeezing the built-in line mic. That feature is very valuable. Most earphones for the iPhone lack this feature. This just goes to show you how superior Apple is with product design. I wish these earphones had a better cord quality though. They are tad too plasticky.

Exceptionally great features, but too uncomfortable to use!
Written by SM from San Leandro

I find these ear buds to be extremely painful, just like I did the ipod ear buds. Apple, why can't you make ear phones that go into the ear canal? Some of us have smalle ears that cannot accommodate these things!
I did get in-ear headphones some from Shur, and I can use them with my ipone because they do have a microphone, but you have to actually pick up the phone and do the slide thing to answer calls, which means you have to get your phone out and look at it while driving. The little pinch on the cord on the Apple iphone headset is so much better!
Please, Apple ... if you make them we will buy!34 of 45 people found this useful

Fantastic earbuds

They come standard, right in the box. They can control your music/video playback. They have a microphone, a tiny little microphone, that works perfectly, loud and clear. This product is excellent. And they come standard, right in the box. Sweet!

Great sound and call answer feature but very Uncomfortable
Written by DB from Orange
Jul 9, 2007
The sound quality is exceptional and the call answer feature is great. After answering a call you pick up exactly where you eft off. The problem is the fit. I find the headphones so uncomfortable I don't use them dispite the great sound quality.

Mic good, comfort bad
Written by DU from Platteville
Jul 9, 2007
The simple, intuitive design of the microphone to this headset is superb. The integrated software that makes the music fade out when a call is coming in and fade back in when the call is completed makes this headset an integral part of the iPhone experience.
However, the ear-buds fall out of my ears as they did with the iPod headphones. Apple should make a product that acts as an adapter to third party headphones that do not fit into the recessed headphone jack. This new product should include a microphone component which can be clipped on to the cord of the headphones. This would allow customers to have the microphone feature with their favorite headphones.16 of 19 people found this useful

These play music well. Not great, but well. The microphone/ controller is coolest feature, letting you answer and hang up calls without looking away from the road.
Overall, they're no noise cancelling headphones, but they do work well with the iPhone. My ears have no problems with these at all, and I haven't met anyone that has had any problems either.
I don't exactly see why anyone would need to buy these though... They do come with the iPhone.8 of 12 people found this useful

awfully designed

extremely uncomfortable to wear. Sound is very tinny to boot! It's like the mighty mouse of earphones. And where's the black version to match the iPhone?
When apple develops some decent black earbuds (in-ear) with the click mic, I'm there. Until then, I'll stick with my Sony fontopia earbuds.21 of 31 people found this useful

Work great, they just make your ears hurt
Written by AJ from Wilton
Jul 10, 2007
The headphones work great and the call quality is amazing . My only serious complaint is that they just make your ears hurt after wearing them for a prolonged period. I am not sure what Apple did with the redesign but these things are considerably uncomfortable compared to earlier generations of headphones.

Good for talking, bad for listening
Written by AP from Key Biscayne
Jul 10, 2007
This earphones are very well designed for the telephone feature of the iPhone. But for listening to music in the iPod feature, they are really bad, because of its poor capacity of isolating the external noise and for being too painful. Why don't you guys at Apple, being so good designers have not yet come out with a really, really good earphones?

My poor small ears
Written by KP from Renton
Jul 10, 2007
I wish I could use these headphones because I love the mic with the button that allows you to pause music, skip songs, and answer calls. I endured hours of torture trying to shove these in my ears, hoping I would find a way to make them fit. But, alas, they never did. Please, Apple, make some headphones that have adapters for different sizes of ears, and actually fit in better. I don't want to buy 3rd party headphones, but I guess I will have to.

Sorry but these earphones SUCK
Written by PR from New York
Jul 11, 2007
I don't know anyone that can fit these into their ears correctly. They're either too big or too small. I think you need to re-design them so that they insert into the ear better, and also, provide adaptors for different sized ears. Unfortunately all humans, girls and guys, don't have the exact same ears, and so to limit options to this is kind of silly. That aside all your products are amazing. I love my new iPhone, I just wish I could use the earphones that came with it!!

Disappointing Apple Product
Written by MM from Lake In The Hills
Jul 11, 2007
I love my iPhone. I love my iPod Video. For the life of me, I just do not understand how Apple can have world-class customer service, sell great products, but offer headphones that fall out of your ears constantly.
It's like buying a new Porche, and finding out you cannot drive it on sunny days.8 of 14 people found this useful

These aren't Bad
Written by SF from Huntington

Compared to Apple buds of the past, these aren't bad. The mic works well and it's kind of cool to talk with the buds on. Don't forget you can "tap" the mic for more functions!

I agree, the stereo headset is horrible
Written by CL from WEST ALLIS
Jul 11, 2007
Very uncomfortable. Right one always falls out of my ear. Sound for me is great, but when I turn up the volume to hear the person I'm talking to on the phone...they hear a bad echo. I turn the volume down and the echo goes away, but then I can't hear what they are saying. I think they put the microphone too close to the ear piece, and the folks I'm talking to hear their own voice as an echo

Earphones are decent.
Written by FD from Wichita
Jul 11, 2007
The Iphone isn't the first phone to come with a headphones/handsfree set. I had a Sony Ericsson S710 that came with them too. They had the same features (usable button on mic) as well. For something that comes with the phone, they do a decent job.
The Iphone headphones don't have that foam slip-on that always gets lost, and there is some rubbery cushion to keep the hard plastic from hurting your ears. I did notice that more ambient noise is apparent in the headphones (making me have to turn up my music more.) The headphones also slip out a little for me, and have to be readjusted every so often. The cord is a very soft pliable material which I am not used to... almost too delicate (compared to normal headphone wires.)
Phone conversation quality is fine. I'm glad they included this with the package (instead of making it a separate buy.)2 of 3 people found this useful
