    Horrible Sound Quality & Fitting

Written by AE from San Leandro

    Jul 24, 2007

I must admit that I've used these type of earbuds for over a year (The ones that came with the iPod) and I *thought* they were a pretty good pair of earphones because I never had anything else to compare it to... Now, I own a pair of V-Moda and Shure earphones and I can't believe what I was missing! You don't even need to spend big bucks to outperform these Apple earbuds. I would have given this a one star but the built in button which answers calls, pauses music, skips tracks, etc. is a great little feature. Nonetheless, I will not use these for my iPhone.

Work great, they just make your ears hurt

    Written by AJ from Wilton

The headphones work great and the call quality is amazing . My only serious complaint is that they just make your ears hurt after wearing them for a prolonged period. I am not sure what Apple did with the redesign but these things are considerably uncomfortable compared to earlier generations of headphones.

    They work for iPod too!

Buy these headphones even if you don't have an iPhone. They are very comfortable, and the sound quality is great. Plus they have a feature where you can greatly reduce the volume that make them great for listening to music while conversing with people!

Some good features, but doesn't last too long

    Written by RW from Austin

    Jun 10, 2008

Very useful because the headset includes a microphone for talking, and it can be used to Play/Pause the iPod or Start/End a phone call by clicking the microphone once, or skip a track on the iPod by clicking twice.

However, this headset disappoints me because it wears out very fast. I will need to replace this headset soon for a new one because rubber is coming off and wiring is getting loose. I have had this headset for only four months.

I would give 0 stars if I could

With such a stunning product as the Apple iPhone (and the stunning price of the device) it is very disappointing to see them add these huge earphones to the package instead of the newer earbuds.

The sound quality might be good, nothing compared to todays noise-canceling earbuds though. They will not stay put, constantly fall out of your ears and they will hurt after shoving them in several times.
You won't be able to move at all, it's so annoying.
I can't understand why they bother produce these things at all.

DON'T BUY THEM, NOT WORTH IT!

    Cheaply made

    Written by SA from mobile

The clicker feature is excellent, but I have gone through three sets in 5 months. The first set the wire insulation was pulled away from the wire at the microphone--leaving a short that cause headphone and microphone static. The second and third set the ear-bud fell apart. If they made these exact headphones in the same way, but durable, they would be great, but they only last about a month for me apparently.

this ear piece keeps falling out - causing me to focus more on the ear piece than on the music/video I'm listening/watching.

    Why aren't these in-ear, noise-isolating headphones?

One star for actually being quite good apart from falling out of my ears.

    Dont fit in my ears

    Written by MC from allston

    Jan 16, 2008

The headphones don't fit in my ears, AND the iphone's headphone jack is set in so that if you attempt to plug reagular headphones in it doesn't work. I wish apple would design a set of ear buds which features tapered rubber buds that are comfortable and actually fit and stay in your ears. I would buy them.

I go through a set of these every 6 months. Sound falls off in one ear and then they start dropping volume/quality. One ear eventually dies.

    HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTED

    Written by MS from CHICAGO

I have bought these headphones 3 times for my iphone and they are great UNTIL about 2 weeks later the right earbud falls out. This has happened 3 times and it has always been the right earbud never the left. After it falls out i would put it back in and it would stay but within a few days the wires ripped. I do not suggest anyone buying these. also, the play/pause button stops working under cold weather conditions.

    they don't stay in!

    Written by KJ

    Nov 26, 2007

i have enough trouble with the earbuds that came with my iPod. these are even smaller and do not stay in.
    at all.
i can't use them, and will need to get an adapter for my other regular headphones if i ever hope to use my iPhone at the gym. or even just to sit very still on a train.
no one should be buying these; either use your old 'phones and/or get a bluetooth earpiece.

Great sound and call answer feature but very Uncomfortable

    Written by DB from Orange

    Jul 9, 2007

The sound quality is exceptional and the call answer feature is great. After answering a call you pick up exactly where you eft off. The problem is the fit. I find the headphones so uncomfortable I don't use them dispite the great sound quality.

    My poor small ears

    Written by KP from Renton

    Jul 10, 2007

I wish I could use these headphones because I love the mic with the button that allows you to pause music, skip songs, and answer calls. I endured hours of torture trying to shove these in my ears, hoping I would find a way to make them fit. But, alas, they never did. Please, Apple, make some headphones that have adapters for different sizes of ears, and actually fit in better. I don't want to buy 3rd party headphones, but I guess I will have to.

    basically disintegrated :(

    Written by JB from Hyattsville

These came with my super costly iPhone and now after less than a year the rubber started coming off of the right ear bud and then the glue so now it is completely worthless. Bothers me that I have to spend another $30 for a replacement since all other compatible earphones are $100 or more.

    Not Durable

Written by DV from La Jolla

    Feb 19, 2008

I'm about to go on my third set.
My iPod headphones lasted during daily use until I purchased a new iPod.

iPhone headsets do not last. Both sets I had problems with the mic side earpiece not working. In the last set, the earpiece continually separated, until the wires broke..

    Durable? Not at all

    Written by WB from MANHATTAN

    Feb 18, 2008

I've gone through 2 of these headsets already. Apple kindly replaced my first one and after the second one I am ready to move on. Both times the left channel became super quiet so that I could only hear music out of the right channel, not fun for music.

    Written by MI from hastings

Good quality, not the greatest. I ran them through the washer and dryer and thus far they still work. I have one problem though, they are hard sometimes to pull out of the ipone without pulling out the wire with it. They stay in your ears pretty ok but not the greatest.
