Awesomeness!
Written by YS from Edmonton
Oct 11, 2009
I've been using the same pair for about 3 months now and I don't have a single complaint. They work exactly how they are advertised to work. Not to mention, now I can use some of the neat apps that were previously only compatible with the iPhone, such as 'SmackTalk' (HILARIOUS!). I can make voice clips, and I even prefer these over my blackberry headphones for conference calling and basic phone use. Oh yeah... they're great for listening to music, too. ;) (And the pause, rewind/forward, and volume feature is a major plus!! I haven't had any issues with mine, even despite the fact that I've snagged them on numerous occasions. I would 100% recommend these earphones. :)

THEY WEAR OUT FAST IVE HAD 3 PAIRS WITHIN A YEAR
Written by JG from London
Oct 9, 2009
i just wish they would last ive had 3 pairs within a year the rubber stuff peels off and even caused me an ear infection a little piece of it came off and was stuck in my ear!! i just think they need to make that rubber stuff a bit tougher cause even the end were the jack is slips off all 3 pairs have fell apart on their own, however they have very good performance i will keep buying them i just think for the price we pay for them they should last a litte bit longer and rubber shouldnt be stuck in our ears from the peeling.. come on apple make your product a little bit better then this.. this is stuff i can expect coming out of a dollar store but not your company PLEASE FIX THIS!

breaks easy
Written by SA from Orlando

In the two years I have had my iPhone, I think I have exchanged about three headphones. Someone said: 'Apple is really good about replacing faulty items'. Why don't they just make their equipment properly in the fist place?

They're always breaking!
Written by JS from Lincoln
Oct 6, 2009
I've really liked the headphones, I know people have complained but to me they're comfortable, however, I've had atleast 5 pair of these headphones break.. and it's always one of two things either the right earbud (the one with the mic) goes out or a speaker gets blown.
At $30 a pair, I'm never buying a pair of apple earbuds again.8 of 11 people found this useful

Painful to wear
Written by RC from Santa Fe
Oct 6, 2009
As usual, Apple's earbuds hurt to wear. The hard plastic and large size combine for a painful fit not to mention how you can hardly move your head without one of them falling out. What a waste, especially since the sound quality isn't half bad. If these earbuds were made of a softer plastic and didn't come in a size that was probably designed by a 6 foot tall man with large ears, I would love them. In fact, I'd use them for my iphone and get rid of my bluetooth ear pieces. Maybe someday Apple will listen to the constant complaints about this issue.

Fallen Apart
Written by MW from Kelowna
Oct 4, 2009
Mine suffered the inevitable washing-machine treatment. This did not damage them at all. The microphone, button, and sound output still worked fine after a short time in the filling of the machine. I took them out before agitation began. So +2 stars for that.
However, the covers on the earphones developed small cracks along the edge. Soon these developed into large cracks, and eventually small bits fell away, and the covers could no longer stay attached to the back piece. The small speakers have come out and I cannot put them into my ear any longer. They are effectively broken. 12 months is all these have in them.3 of 5 people found this useful

Written by CJ from Pembroke Pines

i am already on my third pair and it poped after 2 months of use. Even if you use it with low volume it still pops. Apple, you make excellent products but these earbuds need redesigning.

Good but Hurts ears
Written by ER from Miramar
Oct 2, 2009
I wanted to buy this because of the built in mic and it works great so far. But the ear buds are the same as the other apple ear buds they both hurt my ear and make listening uncomfortable. They make them perfectly circular and no one's ear is perfectly circular. I think it is about time they change the shape a little at least. Also the price is too much for these earphones. I doo like the remote and the mic though.

iPhone Stereo Headset
Marginal at best
Written by BJ from Livermore
Sep 27, 2009
For a $30 set of headphones the sound quality is adequate and the microphone quality isn't bad either. As a hands free headset they perform exceedingly well, but beyond that they're marginal at best. The drivers produce sound of a reasonable quality; however, the shape of the ear buds do not conform snugly to my ear, so a lot of the richness of the sound is lost due to attenuation through the air. While running, they'll fall out of your ear a couple times before you can make it a half-mile. As far as durability is concerned, I'm on the fence. I say this because i've had to take super glue to the earbuds after they completely fell apart on multiple occassions - after that they were great. Now, the rubber cushioning is falling off making their use less comfortable.
Apple was clearly looking to design a cheaply produced headset with good microphone voice quality and marginal earbud sound while being durable, but not too durable. At $30 a pop Apple is probably making a fortune on people replacing their lost or broken headsets that came with their iphones.
Personally, I lost my first pair and purchased a replacement pair. Even though I wish they did more they still work well for my purposes. I commute to and from work and listen to audiobooks along the way, so the necessary sound quality doesn't have to be that great and they're convenient when I want to switch over and answer a call.10 of 14 people found this useful

Fine but short-lived
Written by DL from Philadelphia
Sep 21, 2009
I'm no audiophile, but I find that the standard iPhone earplugs work fine and are adequately comfortable & stable.
BUT, they only last about 2-3 months and then something about them breaks. Either one side starts to buzz or the controller breaks in some way.
LUCKILY, Apple honors its warranty. I stop by the ATT store and pick up a new pair. I've now done this numerous times.
I don't think I'm doing anything especially harmful to the earplugs, although I use them when I work out.18 of 25 people found this useful

The soft cover wears off
Written by NN from Dallas
Sep 9, 2009
The sound quality is not good when used as handsfree. The sudden ups and downs are disturbing and annoying. Listening to music is still awesome.
Worst of all - silicon soft cover wears off easily. My earphones are in good shape but without the earbud covers, it is inconvenient. Do i have to shed $30 for this???11 of 13 people found this useful

shockingly BAD
Written by HS from New York

One of the great mysteries of the digital age. How can a company that makes such outstanding hardware extend such a piece of trash design to the iphone line?
Not only do they sound terrible, they hurt and fall out of your ears. If only they had designed them to fall out as soon as they start hurting would there be any redeeming value to this headset.12 of 17 people found this useful
