    Good Headphones

    Written by NC from Lansing

I just got my iPhone a week ago...

    Pro:
    1. Great sound quality
    2. Great small mic
    3. The mic button thing works great for when people call you and your iPhone is in your pocket and all you have to do is click the button to answer and end calls when your headphones are plugged in.
    4. The button also controls your music: starts/stops and skips to next song.

    Cons:
    1. Will hurt ears after a while.
    2. Mic breaks easy if cord is pulled on. (you can hear the other person but they cant hear you)
    3. Mic picks up every noise in the background.

So far that's my thoughts on this product hope it helps :P

Apple Headset not up to scratch

    Written by SC from auckland

After using this headset ( similar to the rubbish headset supplied with the new 4gb shuffle ) i have to say that this is simply the worst headset on the entire planet.

Considering the quality items that Apple constantly produces i am surprised they are still continuing to produce this sub standard, uncomfortable, ill fitting, tinny sounding piece of equipment.

Back to the drawing board Mr. Jobs. this product is truly awful.

at first these headphones seem good. but they are very weak and have poor quality. i have a friend who has had one pair blown out and the other just fell apart. i dont even use mine. the cord on them is way to short. if you want a great pair of ear buds with a mic go for skullcandy iphone fmj's, they can play music without crackles or fuzz and have great sound quality and great bass. also they are made from aluminum which can take a lot more of a beating than apple's ear buds. the bottom line is just go for anything besides apple's ear buds.

    Piece of Grabage

These headphones are way overpriced for what you get. They have absolutely no bass response and even lack on the high end. if you want music that sounds they way they are supposed to I highly recommend apples other set of headphones (the in-ear model), sennheiser, V-moda (which is what I have) Shure if you really want top of the line sound quality and durability and maybe Bose. Also all the headphones I mentioned will reduce ambient Noise significantly so you can listen to your music on the subway without needing crank up the music but a pair of headphones that are going to last and sound great should cost roughly $100.
And if you have no interest in better headphones (apples in-ear are $60), than I recommend going to CVS and getting a pair of $5 headphones every few months.

    descent design horrible quality

    Written by MR from Spokane

I like the design and functionality of this headset, especially the ability to stop/play ipod and answer/end calls from the headset. However, I have had an Iphone for 6 months and my second headset is now worn out. I don't want to spend the money on a $100 set of headphones, but at this point it may be cheaper in the long run and that makes me really mad. How many headsets are Iphone users expected to pay for? I had one headset that the jack connection went bad on and the new set has had the gray rubber rings strip off. This is just dumb.

Love the headphones, hate the Durability.

Soft rubber pieces on earbuds stretch and rip off. I liked the older style iPod headphones (the all plastic ones with no rubber).

    Not durable

Written by DO from Garden City

    Mar 31, 2009

Mine basically fell apart after a year of infrequent use. The plastic sleeves where the wire meets the ear bud have come loose and now slide up and down the wires which is annoying. Now the wire is exposed just under the bud and above the plug. Judging from other reviews the Apple ear buds don't seem to be very durable. For $30 these ear buds should be a little more dependable, sound a lot better, and be more comfortable. If this product was cheaper—say $10— it might still be worth buying.

    Average

This is an ok set of earphones and there are much better buys out there, but there are some aspects of these earphones that may be better than others and if I could I would give these a 3.5.
First is sound quality. I have seen earphones with much better quality than these for around $15 less. The sound quality and bass are ok, but when you turn the volume up the quality of the bass decreases. I have gotten crunchy noises with other sounds as well.
As far as durability goes my pair has been ok. Not much damage has been inflicted on my earphones, but you just have to take care of them.
Last up is comfortability. These are some of the most comfortable earphones ever. Sometimes I forget that they are in my ear, and as a headbanger they stay in quite well. I never had to push them back in after rocking out to a song, and for me that is perfect, but as I said before these are average earphones and I suppose I would recommend it to you if you can't get any better.

    Falling apart

    Written by RP from Atlanta

I have had these headphones for a little over a year, and I'm very careful with them. The soft bands around the earpieces are already falling off. Shoddy craftsmanship and a big disappointment.

I was shocked to find out that everyone else had the same problem with the right side earphone going out. It seemed to work fine other than that. Apple should definitely make this right with its loyal customers. Fix this guys!!!!!!!!!!

    The worst product Apple makes

Written by RD from Van Nuys

    What the ****?
I love Apple. But WHAT THE H-E-double hockey stick!? By far the worst headset I've ever owned. The rubber comes off from around the earbuds, the wiring comes loose, the wire covering comes off, they eventually stop working at all.

Apple really needs to get on top of this. Selling them for $30 a pop and you need a replacement within 6 months!

    TERRIBLE.

I make hundreds of calls per day, these are AMAZING headphones

    Written by RK from Nashville

    Mar 24, 2009

I'm a business owner & am on the phone w/ hundreds of people per day. I listen to music in between each call, so basically have these things in my ears from when I wake up at 6am to when I go to bed at 2am.

I have small ears so every other headset has hurt my ears like crazy, and trust me, I've tried many many many of them in every different style imaginable...from over the ears, to in the ears, to bluetooth, to simply using speakerphone, or plugging my iPhone into a set of external speakers. I've tried Everything, period. NO other product has even compared!

These headphones are amazing not only for the sound quality of the music ( & I must admit I'm a bit of an audiophile), but also for the quality my customers & associates get on the other end of the phone with me. I've only had people complain of not being able to hear me when my 2yr old is screaming in the background :). BUY THIS PRODUCT! Stop looking at reviews. It'll be the best $30 you ever spent.

I guess these headphones should go in the "disposable" category. It's always the same problem - the right headphone starts getting quieter and then stops working. Thanks for the bad product!

    Adequate but ...

    Written by ES from Canton

The biggest problem is the sharp edges on the microphone. It catches on shirt and jacket collars. You would expect Apple to think through the design and make the edges rounded.

    HUGE step down from original

Written by CH from LOS ANGELES

    Mar 19, 2009

I hate these headphones! I have the iPhone classic and perhaps that's the problem.

Everyone who calls me hears an "echo" of their side of the conversation. When I'm on a call, the person I'm chatting with hears all alarms and call waiting beeps incoming to me.

The original headphones were $20 and had NONE of these issues. Very disappointing and frustrating. Especially since in this economy there is, unfortunately, no way I can afford an upgrade.

    What happened Apple?!?!?!?!?!?!

Just like my original iPod earbuds, except didn't last

    Written by MV from Baltimore

    Mar 19, 2009

The sound on these is good. I like the way they fit. With the exception of the mic for the iPhone, these are just like the earbuds that came with my original iPod many years ago, BUT...they only lasted about 3 months before the sound in the left ear started to deteriorate! They have not been roughly handled or stored loosely in my bag. I don't even use them all that often. I'm disappointed and will go back to using my old headphones.
