Disappointed
Written by DV from Newton

I love owning and using Apple products and I really want to write a good review, but I just can't.
The first pair of nicely designed earbuds that came with my super-cool iPhone only lasted a year before the sound went down to almost nothing.
So I bought a new iPhone Stereo Headset and they lasted three months before the left channel sound went way down and now a few months later, the right side sound is disappearing. I expect WAY more out of Apple products than this and I hate that I am now thinking of buying something non-Apple to work with my iPhone.
Consider buying two or three pairs at a time, or just try your luck with one of the more expensive and compatible products available on the Apple Store.

Unreliable Material quality and Horrible sound quality
Written by GM from Dartmouth

I already had two of these headsets since the always break down on me. Unreliable for daily use. For the sound, once you're in an area filled with noise forget using this headset since it does not emit sound as loudly as other aftermarket and even ordinary apple headsets. Overall, If you're going to buy this headset get at least 2 spares.

It's OK

I have the earbuds that came with the iPhone 3G. While the fit and build quality are commendable, the sound quality is a little bit lacking specially when itcomes to low frequencies. I can only compare them to a Bose full headset and my current Shure noise-cancelling earbuds. Both can produce lower frequencies and better overall sound quality.
One very convenient feature with the Apple earbuds is the built-in mic/switch. It also fits well in my ears, which allows me to were them longer than my Shure earbuds. It makes for a good backup earbuds.5 of 8 people found this useful

Lousy quality
Written by IA from Helsinki

This headset is totally not worth the price. The earplug don't fit at all and when walking on the streets or even on a bus you really have to turn up the volume to hear anything. This of course consumes more battery and can seriously damage your ears.

Depends on What You Need ...
Written by LH from Owls Head

You get what you pay for. This style of earbud has never worked in my ears, they just don't stay in. If this style gives you a good fit, you don't take good care of your stuff, you loose things frequently, and don't care all that much about sound quality these will work for you.
If you need some "isolation" from the noise around you so you can hear your telephone conversation, your music is encoded at 256 kbps or above, and your stuff doesn't regularly "go missing" ... spend the money and get a good set of in-canal ear buds. As for the one ear blue tooth type, I've wasted a lot of money on these, better to stick with wires.8 of 13 people found this useful

These truly are complete rubbish
Written by IC from Whepstead
Apr 19, 2009
I bought these having tried 3 different Bluetooth headsets to go with my iPhone 3G, but each one exhibited the same problem during calls - I kept getting louder and quieter, and callers complained. This happened with 2 different iPhones and 3 different headsets (that otherwise worked perfectly well with my older phones, so I just don't know what's wrong).
So, I bought these, thinking, well, at least if it has wires it can't be all bad - but....
They don't fit inside your ears (mine anyway) well enough to sound any good at all - they need pressing in with your fingers to hear anything below about 3K, which is completely impractical. Also, the lead is so short that when my iPhone is mounted on my car dash, the lead pulls restricting my movement. I know Apple are always suuuuper stingy with lead lengths, but this is ridiculous.
Add that to the other reports that I've read here that say they won't last 5 minutes (which I can believe from the feel of them) and they truly are complete rubbish - especially as I DIDN'T get a pair free with my iPhone and actually forked out to buy them.
Disgraceful Apple - you should know better (And I'm an Apple Mac user and fan since the Mac Plus in the mid 80's!)25 of 48 people found this useful

Re: Not too bad...

I have not been using head phones for a very long time, maybe since my teenage days. Am so used to bluetooth! i purchased the Sennheiser FLX 70 but to the biggest disappointment, iPhone's bluetooth software SUCKS!Cause the other party always cannot hear me clearly. So to my desperation and not wanting to waste my money on other stuffs (Wanted to buy the Sennheiser MM 50 iP), i reluctantly took out apple's iPhone original ear headset and tried. To my amazement, it is good! Good enough for me to hear my songs and videos clearly. Everything is just right, the wires are positioned infront (Those positioned behind tends to get stuck on the neck) and the mic is jus right near my mouth. Design is a bit losing out... Though the ear piece fits well in the ear but after a long period the ear tends to hurt due to the fact that the ear piece is made of hard plastic.

Okay, so I am reading other reviews about this item... and I totally don't understand why anyone is saying how they don't like them. Geesh! Send yours to me! I love them, sleep with them on with no ear pain at all. And now... they are MISSING! So that is why I am here to purchase some new ones. They work great.

I bough two pairs of these. Both failed within a few days of very light use. My Ipod touch no longer recognises these have a mic and the button to pause play no longer functions. Do yourself a favour and buy something else. Very dissapointed in the durability of these.

I can't go anywhere without them. I love listening to music with them and using them to talk is perfectly convenient for me. They sound great.

These headphones sit in a safe comfy place in purse and are used rarely but after 5 months they got a short in them. Worst ear phone to date, and the worst part is that any ear phone that fits into my iphone is twice as much.
