Just like my original iPod earbuds, except didn't last

    Written by MV from Baltimore

    Mar 19, 2009

The sound on these is good. I like the way they fit. With the exception of the mic for the iPhone, these are just like the earbuds that came with my original iPod many years ago, BUT...they only lasted about 3 months before the sound in the left ear started to deteriorate! They have not been roughly handled or stored loosely in my bag. I don't even use them all that often. I'm disappointed and will go back to using my old headphones.

    Works OK but deteriorates quickly.

These earphones work adequately... but don't last long. It didn't took me more than 6 months of daily use before the right side stopped working. I wish Apple would provide us with a more reliable headset. I would consider using this headset, as long as it comes free with the iPhone. However, as an additional headset, it is clearly overpriced for an unreliable product.

These are the ones that came with the iPhone. Lasted just six months and one of the earbuds stopped working. Very poor quality.

adequate, but they hurt a bit in my ears

these earphones sound pretty good considering that they're ones that come with the iPhone, and the button works well, but the earphones are irritating and uncomfortable after about an hour of use. this would've gotten 4 stars from me, if only the earphones were more comfortable.

Perfect when new, but unfortunately deteriorates quickly.

Headset works well while it lasts, but I've bought four so far in the short year I have owned my iPhone--they just quickly become defective. So maddening. Why can't Apple make a headset that not only works well but is durable and reliable--you know, like the Mac.

    Better Than Nothing

    Written by AW from Reading

Here's the thing, the headphones come with the phone, are the same quality as regular iPod headphones, and double as a headset when you get a call on your iPhone. I'm not real sure what else someone could ask for in iPod headphones for the iPhone, you know? I personally like them, but I don't use them all day long. I think it's a cool idea, especially since any other phone won't come with a headset or headphones.

They are great headphones with a mic, except for the fact that they fall out way too easily

Other than that, I have had no issues whatsoever

    Irritating

    Written by MG from Limoges

    Mar 9, 2009

The original ear buds that came with the iPhone 3G worked beautifully for the first 6 months. I take good care of my things, but after 6 months the sound start to degrade and I could barely hear anything out of them anymore. I had to cup my ears to hear the sound properly. So I bought new ones with the integrated mic (the original ear buds I got with the iPhone doesn't not have the mic but you can still talk on the phone with them). The sound is much better, but people on the other end of the line complain of a buzzing sound that gets loud from time to time. That being said, I hear it too. I think it's because the mic clashes with the receiving end of the phone causing that buzz. It's really irritating.

The overall best earphones I have ever used.

    Written by WE from Hoschton

I bought these earphones two days ago for my iPod nano third generation do to damages on my old earphones. The quality of the sound is perfect, the actual material that covers the earpiece is very durable and soft to provide the ultimate comforting of the ear. Even though I can't use the microphone these are a lot better quality that the regular iPod headphones with the remote. I highly recommend it to anybody who needs a new pair of earphones even if they don't have a iPhone or iPod. They are also good to buy because best of all they come with Apple's Limited 1 Year Warranty just in case they ever become defective.

Survived Washing Machine and High Heat Dryer

Written by NP from Culver City

These aren't the most amazing earphones, but for $29.00, and give the fact
that they can apparently survive a one hour laundry wash cycle, spin cycle, and also a
one hour High Heat Dryer cycle - AND STILL WORK PERFECTLY! - let's say I am not
    complaining.

Apple has got to be kidding me!

Written by KM from Cle Elum

These earbuds are amazing except for one HUGE downfall. They last a week. Had em' for a week and they blew. Another set only lasted a week. These sound decent, nice fit and very slender. But they are the most unreliable SOB's I have ever come across. I ABSOLUTELY love them while they work. Both times it has been the right speaker to blow so I can't even use them in just one ear since the button/mic is on that side. They rattle and crack so bad it hurts my ears and they are only a week old. Nice attempt at a set of earbuds Apple, but try again. Will NEVER buy again and would NEVER recommend to anyone.

I love these headphones. I lost them and ordered another pair only to find out the original ones went through the washer and dryer. THEY STILL WORK!! I'm keeping the new pair as a back up. Definitely worth the money.

these headphones are junk the rubber comes off and they fall apart so quickly that you might as well order the zune ear buds which are far superior for only another ten or fifteen dollar

    Like them.

Written by MM from New York

    Feb 28, 2009

    Hi.
I have an iPhone 2G and x3 of these headphones.
I like them, because the sound is good (i dont really understand much of music, but as a average user they are good). In spite of the fact, that they are completly plastic, the headphones fits perfectly in my ear and dont falls even when I am running.
The mic is genius, so small and useful.
The problem is that they are really easy to be broken. On my first, second and now on my tird the left one begab to play really lower than the right .. after some incidents of course (not a big ones I think).
So I think now to try something different, Sennheiser probably.

But if you are not as bad user as me and you can care on the stuff you have, get the headphones :)

    Decent

    Written by CC from Monrovia

They work fine. But the rubber around the earbud starts coming off. Also, the rubber around the plug starts bunching up and needs to be cut off with a knife if you want to keep using them (for 2G). I am going on my third pair. They need to be replaced about every 6 to 8 months of regular use.
