Faulty Design. 2 pairs. Both died.
Written by BB from Miami
Jul 30, 2009
The inline button which allows you to answer calls or skip songs has an innate flaw. 2 pairs of these have both stopped working after normal use in a few months. The ear bud on the same side of the button stops working. If you mess around with the wire upstream of the inline button the sound returns but then goes away if you let go or move. Seems like there is a poor connection inside.

Impressive and Durable!!
Written by CP from Greenwood
Jul 29, 2009
I have gone through plenty of Apple iPod headsets, and just recently purchase an iPhone 3G. It came with a new headset that I was reluctant to use at first, just because I've had horrible luck in the past. This new headset is awesome though!! Easy to control calls and music, and i accidentally put it through the washer and dryer this weekend, and it still works fine!!! It's about time the quality of Apple's accessories have caught up to the quality of their other products.

I've got the same problem as others mention here: we loved each other, and then my right bud broke down completely. I've no idea how it happened, but it was suddenly gone.....

Written by ME from Crestview

Yes the headphones give good control over volume and playing music, and the Mic tops it off but whats the point of all of this if you cant enjoy it because the headphones break within a week. I bought 7 headphones all broke within a week. Don't buy!!

These headphones are horrible! They are too fragile and the wiring is very poor.. Apple seriously needs to revise the manufacturing of these headphones. We pay good money for the phone at least give us good quality headphones.

New Design Plez
Written by MM from Bell Gardens
Jul 22, 2009
I got my IPhone in March and my earphones are already useless. First my right one began to fall apart then the left and then the left one just didn't want to work anymore and soon after the right. Now I'm earphone-less and being a student I can't afford to spend $30 on a pair of earphones. I'm disappointed with the products Apple is coming out with, they are not lasting. =o( I did love the sound quality and the ipod features while they lasted.

right side gone...
Written by VP from PORTLAND

LOVE these headsets - when they were working at 100%. sadly, the right side has gone to about 10%. from reading other reviews, i see this is a common problem.
c'mon guys, the world's biggest portable music deliverer, can't figure out a way to also make headsets.
very disappointing...4 of 4 people found this useful

Gone through Two now
Written by JC from San Francisco
Jul 19, 2009
I actually really like this headset, unfortunately I've gone through already and for completely different reasons. My first pair, the rubber around the ear section started breaking off and now in the second pair, the left ear doesn't even work. It's quite convenient with the ability to listen to music or talk on the phone. Guess it's time to upgrade.

One month later...
Written by KK from Palo Alto

...The right side is gone. I am glad to read other reviews that say this happened. I am not alone. I've only been using these headphones for one month. I had my old iPhone (1st gen) headphones for 2 years and never had any problems. Apple definitely needs to improve these headphones!!! Very unhappy.

Great product.
Written by DW from Grand Rapids

The Sound quality of these things are great and as far as things go they last quite a while despite taking multiple beatings - For mine have gone through the wash 3 separate times and there has been no negative effect to any part of them. I even accidently ran them over with my car in a parking garage and they still work fine - no joke. I highly recommend these headphones to anyone. - Leave it to apple to make another product that doesn't break - GO APPLE!

Right side blown up
Written by GK from Paterson
Jul 15, 2009
Eventhough, the sound quality is good, the quality of the material is not good I think. It is only 2 months and I am using very rarely. So, right side has gone. Apple has to do something about this. Too many complaints like this.

Great accesory
Written by KP from okotoks

I was quite impressed with it. Easy to use and great quality. That thing has been working great despite my lack of care towards it. It has been thrown into my purse, my wallet, the car, in the rain in dry weather. I have used it in windy conditions outside and it noise and sound always comes in really clear.
I am very impressed with it and would highly recommend it to anyone.2 of 6 people found this useful

DO NOT STAY IN EARS!!
Written by RP from aurora
Jul 14, 2009
Ok, so I *just* got the new iPhone 3gs, and while I love the controls of these headphones, and *theoretical* functionality of them, they will not stay in my ears for even 30 seconds. Even the slightest jiggle causes them to effortlessly fall out of my ears. Seriously, they have NO hold whatsoever, and, as they are now, they are completely unusable to me. COMPLETELY unusable. I have not had this problem with other headphones of any type. My ears can't be that weird....

Don't do it!
Written by CC from New Canaan
Jul 12, 2009
The only reason you would want to purchase these headphones is for the controls. Even then i believe you can purchase other headphones that have similar controls. Do not purchase these if you are looking for a comfortable or quality pair of headphones. I have had these headphones for about two weeks and the left one has already blown out . I'm sure it is partly because i play my music loud but even still...the speaker is very fragile. Try to do some research before you buy these headphones. Don't feel as though these are the only ones out there because there are many headphones that cost less and are higher quality. Good Luck!

Written by FL from Istanbul

The sound quailty is good, but it falls down off your ears and it doesn't fit in. Good sound but not useful as it keeps falling down off your ears constantly. I Whish it would have a different and more ergonomic design.

Horrid little things, like stones in your ears.
Written by MJ from Craig
Jul 7, 2009
I think the title says it all. I never got to the audio quality part of this because these things are so horrid fitting into the ear. Within the first two seconds of having them in my ears they made them ache.
It's like shoving stones into your ear. Horrible little things, Apple, please save yourselves a few bucks and stop bundling these horribly awful things in with your products.
Apple does us all a terrible disservice by even including these incredibly horrible things. Then, having the audacity to charge money for these things standalone. They should pay us $30 to wear them.14 of 21 people found this useful

Painful!
Written by GC from Killeen

I have fairly small ears and these headphones just don't fit. They become extremely uncomfortable after only a few minutes and they fall out easily. The sound is pretty good but they are so unpleasant to use that it doesn't really matter.
