Great as long as you don't workout at the gym with them

    Written by DB from Knoxville

    Sep 6, 2009

Specifically, if you do any cardio or other type of exercise where you sweat. I've gone through two pair now and I find that as your begin to sweat on your face it somehow gets into the inline controller and causes it to short out - no allowing you to adjust volume or change track. Once it dries out you're fine but you only get about 15min of a workout in with them on before your loose control of your music.

    fall out of ears

Written by MD from East Sydney

    Sep 6, 2009

These are the same as the ones that ship with the 3Gs - unless redesigned they will be a waste of money. The standard apple shipped iphone stereo headset will not stay in my ears.

I have never had this issue before & have had dozens of different styles of headsets. Either the shape is wrong or the curling of the cord in the pack ruins the positioning.

very poor field testing I suspect. I have heard that getting some ( not supplied) foam covers helps. Will try these & post again if fixes.

    Don't workout with this headset!

Written by LC from Lake Oswego

    Sep 3, 2009

I purchased a new iPhone and used it to workout. The volume down button on the headset shorted out and kept activating the 'Voice Control' over and over. Was incredibly frustrating.

After a replacement headset, I went jogging and 20 minutes into run, then same short happened. Don't use this headset when working out!

    Poor user features

Written by SN from Bloomfield Hills

Good sound quality, poor anatomical fit, rubber rings deteriorate quickly w/sweat and exercise, and short out with moisture. Would not rec. for continuous, or use w/exercise. Quality improvements needed in fit and design, applications. Steve, please replace ASAP, now that your back!

Earphones Fail in Sweaty or Moist Conditions

    Written by 2S from philadelphia

    Aug 27, 2009

Very disappointed. These earphones do not like any amount of moisture no matter how small. Often turns on voice command when slightly moist. Ridiculous. The premier workout device on the planet and they cannot take a little sweat. Apple replaced it for free and my second pair does the same thing. It recovers when dry and now the mike covered with a plastic sandwich bag and duct tape. Nice. Thanks Apple for these excellent headphones. When is the properly tested free replacement coming for us?

    Not very durable

Written by RS from Morris Plains

really comfortable, good sound quality and i love to control button, but they're just not durable enough. i started using them for my iPhone less than a year ago and I'm already on my third pair.

It is amazing that they even bother with these things

    Written by DN from Seattle

    Aug 19, 2009

I have yet to get a pair with my phones that are even reasonable. They generally buz or make strange vibration noises right out of the box.

Fair enough, I have been bale to exchange one pair, but I have given up and buy a pair of after market models. Which you may wince once you see the price.

    Fair sound quality, but uncomfortable

    Written by JB from Albuquerque

    Aug 17, 2009

A good bang for the buck. However, only the toughest individual will be able to withstand wearing this headset for more than an hour or two. Pretty good base, treble, and iPhone control for $30. It's especially a good backup set for those who invest in a high-end headset.

    Glad I got it!

Written by JH from Del Valle

    Aug 6, 2009

I read the reviews first, and must admit I was nervous about spending the money on something I didn't *need*. I just wanted it for convenience. But, I've been nothing but pleased by the product. They fit just fine in my ears, they don't hurt, and the sound quality and clarity is where it should be.

    Earbuds Don't Fix Right

    Written by CC from Orange

    Aug 6, 2009

I like the microphone/button feature but the earbuds don't fit right. They don't eliminate sound from the outside so if you are in a noisy area and using these you have to turn the sound up really high. Also they have a tendency to fall out. If I lean my head to the side they'll fall out. I may be looking for an alternative to these headphones.

    Ok but...

    Written by CR from Astoria

    Aug 4, 2009

I've never had any problems with the sound, despite some mediocre reviews. While it doesn't block out the external noise, it basically gets the job done. However, a month or two after my first purchase, the controls stopped working. I had to buy a new pair for $30, no free exchange, and then the controls didn't work. I went back to using regular headphones. When I suddenly decided to buy a new pair of Stereo Headphones a few months later, the control would never work. I kept exchanging for a new pair, and the same problem would occur. Note to apple technicians: please fix this problem.

    fall out too easy!!

Written by SL from Los Angeles

    Aug 3, 2009

My i phone is black but it comes with white earphone.
I don't know why apple has only white earphone.
Anyway, I don't have any complain of it's sound quality. but...
this earphone doesn't stay at my ear. It fall out too easily, especially right one.
I mean every time I move my head right or left, they just fall out.
that's the only one I have complain out this earphone.

    1 Star is Generous

Written by DD from New Castle

I literally just pulled these out of the box (my 2nd pair) and one of the speakers was distorted at 75% volume. Is this Apple's way of trying to encourage people to buy their $80 pair? Pathetic.

    What is Happening?

    Written by FA from danville

    Aug 3, 2009

I can't believe apple sold this stuff and make it a standard to iPhone 3g. This product never makes it's way to my ear and bad sound quality finished this thing-y to be stored in my storage room. What is wrong with apple? what is happening? my iTouch earphone is better than this???

i really liked the idea of these but i always turned the apple earphones a different direction to get better sound out of them but with the little controller on these earphone it always makes it fall down so i was really bummed about that since my regular apple earphones that i used broke. so i like them but only if i want to use them for background music.

Great little microphone, but totally impractical headset.

Written by HM from Nyjobing Sj

    Jul 31, 2009

The mic is great - makes excellent voice recordings on a Nano 4th generation - but it causes the right ear bud to fall out far too easily.
Nice to have a remote volume / pause button, but you have to grope for it - and pull out the ear bud.
The mic should have been separate and closer to the mouth, the remote switch further down and on the lead before it splits into two.

    ouch

    Written by NV from Philadelphia

    Jul 31, 2009

Why do people like these earbuds? Maybe my ears are different than everyone elses. These things are physically painful. I spend more time putting them back into my ear after they fall out than I do actually listening to music. Yet these things are ubiquitous....
