I was reading alot of reviews of this product and i agree with every single one. the port bends/breaks way to easy and Apple should just make a cable with that piece at the end. My 10lb dog stepped on the dock and bent it...and that aint alot of weight

i have always been an apple fan.but this thing is the worst.i'm really dispointed in how easy it broke, my brand new shuffle is worth less now and a replacement is pretty outragiously priced since it may last a week before breaking.I had went out of town and it was packed with my clothing and still manged to break.the worst.

If you can find another dock than this buy it. I've had two and both have broke the connector is very weak and flimsy. Apple continues to get negative reviews, but refuses to change it. Doesn't deserve any stars. Hey Apple bigwigs / step up and fix this

alright i had this charger for a little bit and then the jack that goes in to the pod snaped off. This wouldnt have happened if they didn't make a stupid jack. what they should do instead of making a solid port they should make it like so you can plug it in like headphone and have a jake like head phone with out that annoying pieace of plastic. thats all you need, just someting that connects to the comp like it would connect to your headphones, with out the plastic stand

I have had my ipod shuffle for less than a month. My ONE YEAR-OLD (just over 20 lbs.) . . . stumbled over the cord to the dock and fell on the dock . . .bending the metal piece that imports songs and charges the ipod. It was not fixable . . . $30 later . . . a new dock. This is a poor design by Apple. The dock seems very cheaply made.

I had my shuffle less than a week before the dock was kicked and irreparably broken. Ridiculous. Even more ridiculous were the ipod store personnel who told us there was no replacement available (which I now know to be untrue). However, it's almost more cost effective to just buy another one of the darn things instead of the overpriced replacement. Boo to Apple.

love the i pod nano i have and the shuffle but ya think ya could make a straight line cable i mean comon it fell off desk less than 2 feet and poof have to buy another one nice get as much money as ya can im very disapointed and i have to buy a new one

I have recently purchased the new ipod shuffle and am EXTREMELY disappointed with this product(the dock). A while after using it, I found it on the floor, part of it snapped off. I immediately tried it to no avail. This product should have been tested and I think it is ridiculous that I must now buy a $30 replacement.

Someone has got to change this design. Was it never tested? How long until the fix comes along? You can best believe that I will steer everyone I know away from purchasing a shuffle...not because of the main equipment, but due to the dock. Can't wait to go spend $30...AGAIN!

i got my ipod shuffle for christmas 2007 (less than 1 month ago) and i was thrilled! i put a few songs on it and went to bed, going to let it charge. i woke up in the morning and found that my cat had accidentally knocked it off my desk. no biggie right? wrong. after a fall of less than 1 foot, the prong on my Ipod charger broke off. not bent. broke OFF. i mean, there are nothing but bad reviews for this thing. its like they are trying to scam you out of your hard earned money. APPLE, PLEASE LOWER THE PRICE OR MAKE A SIMPLE CABLE. a cable would cost less and wouldn't break as easily. but wait! then you wouldn't get thousands of dollars in replacements would you, cash cows.

I have 3 teenage children and therefore have purchased well over $1000.00 worth of Apple Products and this is the first time I could say that I feel very disappointed in the quality of a purchase. The replacement dock is very overpriced in my opinion. This item broke very easily in my own hands. I know you can do better.

I had the dock in my backpack and the prong just broke off and I had the Shuffle for just 3 months. $29 for replacement is too much. The need to make the dock a little more sturdy and cheaper.

Christams bought an ipod touch and a suffle for my brother being his older brother only two months flew by and now i cant charge his ipod because when i went to pull it off it broke off inside i manged to pull it out to come to a conclusion that i still cant charge my ipod and the dock cost almost half of what the ipod cost PLEASE APPLE LOWER THE PRICE OR RECALL IT TO A CABLE....................HEY APPLE I MEAN WHATS IT GOIN TO HURT IF U LOWER THE PRICE TO 15$ U GUYS ARESTILL MAKEING SERIOUS CASH ON COMPUTERS AND ITOUCH'S

Poor Design, Easy to Break

The prong on my iPod shuffle dock just broke off after accidentally stepping on it. It seems like it would be easier to just make it a cord rather than a dock. It doesn't really matter that much if the iPod is sitting vertically while I charge it. For a product that is meant to be portable, the dock should not be that easy to break.

my dock was in my suit case and when i pulled it out and the tip was broken. My brother just broke his because it fell on the floor and broke now we have two Ipod shuffles with no way to charge them. They need to redesign the dock and not charge half the price of a new Ipod.

MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER WAS THRILLED WHEN SHE FINALLY RECEIVED HER IPOD SHUFFLE. HOWEVER WHEN IT CAME TIME TO RECHARGE, THE DOCK WAS NOT CHARGING. I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THE PURCHASE OF THE IPOD SHUFFLE.

Easy to break

Mine broke, and I don't think I did anything bad to it. It was in a small pouch in my bag, now it doesn't work. I guess it got knocked? Nothing else in there is damaged, and I keep other electronics/CD/etc in there. It's a special pouch that's pretty much out of harm's way, that's why I put it there. Closer inspection shows it's bent, and refuses to connect to the computer. Why is a new one $30? It's so simplistic. Overall: boo.

Broke inside my ipod

The charger connection came off the base while I was charging it and stuck inside my Ipod. I took it into the apple store and was told that even though it was still inside the one year warranty period the damage was not covered. They claim that it's "unusual" for the connection to break but I've seen numerous complaints for the same problem.

When the charger connection was removed from my ipod it bent and pulled the back off-they quoted the repair cost at a few dollars less that I paid for the Ipod new!
