Even a tiny little bend and it no longer works. Mine don't even look damaged, but if you look really close they are bent.

I love apple products and I recommend them to almost everyone I know. However, since buying 2 iPod shuffles, I have to think twice before I tell anyone to buy anything Apple. This thing (dock/charger) is absolute garbage!!! I don't know how it broke! All I did was leave it on a desk and treated it with care. Did I mention this is my 2nd one and now I have 2 broken docks and now my sister and I are stuck with 2 useless Shuffles. Thanks a LOT Apple! You're name is on this and I'm thinking twice about buying anything Apple moving forward. I mean.. come ON!!! This thing is COMPLETELY USELESS. I guess this is your way to force people to spend more on the Nano, etc. sigh...

How can I have zero stars out of 5?

I hate this thing!the connector thing breaks way to easy. its just a piece of flimsy metal! and its way over priced. i mean come on! 30 bucks for a cable? thats a little pricey if you ask me.

My 10-year-old son bought his shuffle with his Christmas money. He had it for just three months when the dock broke. Also, just after he bought it the price was nearly cut in half. All in all, a rip-off! I found a secondary market charger on clearance at Circuit City that not only has a wall outlet charger, but also a computer cable all for less than $15. The replacement part from this site is more than twice what I paid. I think Apple owes all of it's customers a refund on this product.

This cable is GARBAGE. The connector bends too easily and breaks!!!!!!!!!!!!

(BTW, they review system censored my original comments and prohibited me from using the word "CRAAAAP".

I am very disappointed that my docking station broke, I love the Ipod, its great for my work outs. I must now go and purchase a new one.

As many people have pointed out; this is one of the most poorly designed accessories Apple has ever produced. The ease with which the main post can be broken off is astonishing. How many complaints does Apple need before they figure out a way to design a dock for the Shuffle that works and is somewhat durable?

Come on guys, you can do better than this!

Please find a way to improve your poorly design dock.I like the dock but It's kinda eas to broke.When I pulled my iPod, the pin accidentally remove.And Yet Please set up iTunes to Malaysia.

Like everyone here, I dislike the design of the shuffle dock as well. I literally had it for 2 weeks the upward pointed part of the dock that connects the ipod snapped when it was stepped on. I know it's not Apple's fault but its that everyone has that problem too. I agree with the other people here, $29.00 is way too expensive for a fragile dock. Just a suggestion, maybe Apple should replace the docks that broke. I recently bought a new shuffle charger on eBay for just 9 dollars. You could but 3 chargers just for the price 1 on Apple.
Disappointed.

I havent had this ipod for a month and the dock has already broken. This is a very bad design. Its very upsetting the cost of a new dock is almost as much as the ipod itself. This is such a rip off.

Look, I'm sure if you keep reading these reviews you will come up with the same answer, but let me save you the time and hassle.
The shuffle is amazing, has many light-wieght advantages and so on, overall we love the SHUFFLE. However, the only problem is the charge dock's fragile state. It breaks. Short and simple. It BREAKS, and for the price of $39.00 (30 for dock, 9 for shipping)
it makes replacing it an unescissary and painful.
Apple, We just ask for some type of return policy due to the fragile state of this peice of equipment.

Great product, it received bad reviews for damage after being stepped on! come on!! course it would brake. Simple product that does the job, i dont believe there is a better way of changing the design unless the shuffle design changes. Looks cool on your desk docked up.

I have had my ipod since christmas and the part that goes into the ipod was loose since i got it. strange isn't it? right now my dock doesn't work right now and i am not going to pay 30$ for a new part because if you were to just send the broken part back, you would only have to pay for the shipping cost of the broken dock. well good luck out there.

I know many people say this product is a waste of money, those people need to consider this: The shuffle dock is very delicate is isn't that durable. So if you want to critisize it know that we know it isn't very durable so saying that just makes it seems worse then what you mean. My dock worked perfectlty fine for months, the one problem is when i wasn't home my aunt came over with her dogs and they chewed on it. It looked fine but two things.There were small teeth marks and the pole that you plug it into was wiggly. The ipod dock you just need to be careful with it is fine, but i am just going to try the travel to see which is better. After i get it i'll compare the two so keep a look out for mine review

No Problems Here!

This is the first review that I have ever written, but I felt compelled to defend this product. This dock addresses one of the issues with the original shuffle in that it didn't have a dock and you constantly had to access a USB port. It is much easier to place the shuffle in the dock, update it, and go. Also, I find no issue with the construction of the dock. It sounds like the people in the other reviews were careless with their equipment. Come on people... its not Apples fault you don't know how to take care of your stuff!

Bought the shuffle for my 6 year old, and the dock broke within two weeks. Definitely not worth $30.00. Go to eBay...
