Just like all the other reviews, I had mine for about a week and the thing that sticks up broke off. It was actually cheaper to buy a refurbished ipod shuffle than a new dock. Guess what? That one broke off also. I now have two shuffles and no dock. What a piece of junk! I would give it less than one star but that's now an option.

This dock is possibly the lamest addition to the entire ipod fleet of products , mine will not charge my ipod am thinking it got tweaked a little. Feeling a little let down , don't recommend this shuffle because of the poor design and production of this flawed piece

Absolutely Terrible

It is impossible to use mine now. I've used it maybe 3 times, probably less, and I am unable to continue to use it. The only way to use it is to press down with immense pressure on top of the shuffle (which cannot be good for it) and eventually the charging light comes on. Basically, this product is terrible. If I could give this product 0 stars, I would.

It broke for no reason! Its a horrible piece of equptment! Not reccomended! The little mental piece just bent and now it wont charge.

I just broke my second one. I travel very often and am addicted to my ipod so the dock had to travel with me everywhere and with the vertical pin i broke it again. So if you are going to leave it safely on a neat shelf or desk you'll be fine but otherwise it makes the shuffle so not worth it.

Like so many others, I am very dissatisfied with the Shuffle. I bought it for my son for Christmas, and after 8 weeks, the docking jack broke off in the shuffle. So not only is the docking cable worthless, but, since I can't extract the broken pin, the Shuffle is as well. What a waste!

I feel the same as many people about this product. The dock broke after me having it for a short amount of time. Then to shove out 30 plus for a new one, that is half of what the shuffle itself cost me. Come up with a new design!

Like so many others this fragile device has broken. The pin has bent and it is unuseable and very expensive to replace relative to the price of the shuffle in the first place.

Another regret I have for sheepishly following the crowd and buying an Apple product. This dock is impossible to keep from breaking. Even sitting on my desk it got tapped a few times and just quit working. Thanks again Apple, first for the hundreds of dollars I flushed down the toilet on the ipod mini....now this

well the first one, was stepped on by my cat(my weakling 9 pound cat)and no longer worked, and my second one, just stopped working, no idea why. This product, really blows, my ADVICE: EVEN THOUGH THE NANO COSTS MORE, ITS WELL WORTH THE MONEY, TO NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS RIDICULOUS CHARGER, AND THE MILLION AND ONE WAYS, IT WILL CEASE WORKING WHEN YOU NEED IT THE MOST! I've spent 90 dollars in shuffles for my 50.00 nano, DO THE MATH THAT'S 140!! I COULD HAVE JUST BOUGHT THE NANO, WOULD HAVE SPENT THE SAME!

Simply terrible

This product is too delicate and much too expensive. I lost the first one to being stepped on, which is fair I suppose, though it's probably the only cable in my house that can be destroyed like that. I'd hate to travel with it though knowing that it was one accidental jam away from being completely non-functional.

I've lost a second one now in a move, and it's infuriating knowing that the cost of replacing this cord a second time will mean that I've spent more money on replacement cords than I spent on the original ipod shuffle.

For me, it is actually worthwhile to consider purchasing a whole new ipod for the cord, since it would only costs another $20, maybe keeping one mixed for exercise, and one for wandering/working/reading.

This should never be the case with replacing a product's cord.

I am normally a loyal Apple user, but will be looking elsewhere for a replacement in this instance, being afraid that if I purchase one here and something happens again that I will be out yet another $30.

Shuffle Dock Design Flaw

I agree with others, this is a serious flaw and one of the few examples of a poor Apple design. It is too fragile especially when considering many are purchasing the shuffle for children.

I own an iPhone, nano and shuffle - this is the only problem I have experienced - we dont even know how the prong came loose - regardless, this is not adequate, especially when considering the replacement is $29!

Please re-desin this immediately, thanks.

How can some say there is a design flaw? That is the way it needs to be, as any other design would need to increase the size of the iPod shuffle itself. I have a shuffle, as does my wife and daughter. Out of three docks, none have "broke" in two years.

This dock gets the music from my imac to my ipod shuffle um...100% of the time. I don't see how I can give it anything lower than 5 stars.

Mine wasn't stepped on because I didn't clean my room, I didn't leave it in my backback, etc. (someone snidly replied somewhere else about I guess the fact that we are careless people...).

Mine fell off the desk. The prong broke. Guess I should have used duct tape so it wouldn't fall off (I'm assuming the response from the other guy...)

Loved it while it worked. No fixing it after it's broken. I found a cheap "generic" one piece. Love it.

I bought my son the schuffle for x-mas and it worked fine until it needed to be charged the second time. I can not get it to charge or sync any songs.other than that it was a good ipod just very poor on the dock part.

Its a dock!, not a cat toy, not a backpack cable, not something you force an ipod on, geez... I have mine on my desk, its clean, simple, does the job... and had it for years since the shuffle came out... NO problems... People stepping on it? Omg clean your room!
