My charger fell of of the table and broke...
One week after I got it!
These chargers are how apple makes it's money -
expensive to buy, break easily.
What a waste!

This sat on a shelf when not in use and I did not travel with it. It still broke. An Apple replacement costs nearly as much as buying a new shuffle.......

I'm a huge advocate for apple's products, but this charger left me disappointed. I didn't drop it or break it, but one day mine just stopped working. Apple products don't just stop working, so shame on Apple for not making a product that's up to par. And, judging by most of the other reviews here, most of the other reviewers seem to be have the same general consensus.

p.s. for the "take care of your stuff" person. Get over yourself. Apple's products are not divine and they do break sometimes. Go nag people who care.

I agree with all the reviews which indicate the charger breaks off easily. Very poor design.

By the way "take care of your stuff" reviewer, I already have a mom to nag me. Get a life.

I was really shocked to see so many negative reviews. I've had the shuffle for a couple of years now, and it works fine. The vertical piece that everyone seems to whine about has not broken. MAYBE, I treat my stuff with care because i don't know...i actually LIKE them and want them to work? not to mention i paid for them with my own money. So, no I dont travel with it around in my purse or bag where it can get dropped on or kicked, and I certainly don't leave it on the floor where a dog can get at it or someone step on it! The charger dock has worked impeccably, only now after two years is it starting to act funny, like not pulling up iTunes automatically right away. but give it a rest and its back to normal soon. it gets 4 instead of 5 because you do need the special dock to charge it, doesn't work with the other cables of the other iPod toys, and its starting to act funny after two years. Seriously people, take care of your stuff and maybe it might actually last longer than two weeks....

the ipod suffle is really great but the charger is not. i mean its been working out for me for about 5 months now and the charger is not working anymore. after about three moths or so, i had to press down on it for it to work.then it just broke. it wasn't my fault i guess it's not supposed to last that long. i do agree that apple should make a better charger but other than that the ipod shuffle is pretty good.

I get all excited to add new music to my ipod, but I find that the vertical stick in my Ipod is mysteriously leaning to the side. It was in my purse and I don't throw it around or mistreat it. So it must have broken from just setting my purse down.

I thought maybe I could straighten it and maybe it will still work, but now I'm without music and battery charging. How did it bend so easily?

I didn't notice how fragile it is, but I see that I have to pay 30 bucks out of my pocket for this cheapness.

I too was tring to charge my I-pod shuffle but the vertical part was leaning and it made my I-pod not able to charge. I am 12 year old and LOVE!!!! music. One day I took my charger to VA. and when I got there the tip of the charger was SNAPPED OFF. I would not suggest the I-pod shuffle it is a cheep peice of junk or at least the charger is

Once again apple comes out with another amazing product. If you don't take care of your things then how do you expect it to stay intact? Put your dock in area it's not likely to get stepped/damaged. It's common sense people. overall very good product and i recommend it to anyone who wants a dock.

Shuffle wouldn't play on Itunes

For the first few months I had the shuffle, its songs played fine on Itunes on my laptop with Vista. Then it stopped. I was ready to buy a new dock when I read these reviews. The one from KM from Raleigh dated 2/22 solved my problem. When I push down on the shuffle in the dock, Itunes plays it. Not exactly the best engineering, I guess, but it works again.

i agree with you guys the chager should be like just a chord like the other ipod chargers then that way it won't get broke...i've been with out music for a month and i love my music and now i want music i'm going crazy but ya change the style of the shuffle's charger!!

I just received my aluminum shuffle two days ago. As mentioned in prior complaints, the plug got bent and it won't charge. A new one will almost cost as much as the ipod. My excitement for Apple products has been greatly diminished.

It seems like I am not the only one experiencing extreme disappointment with this poorly designed piece of junk. I was able to charge and sync my ipod shuffle only once before the prong came loose and no longer allows me to charge my shuffle or connect with my computer.

It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to pay $29 + shipping and tax to replace this thing.

I think I'll just buy the 3rd generation shuffle (maybe Apple's evil design from the start).

Does anyone know if the 3rd generation shuffle USB connector is compatible with the 2nd generation shuffle?

APPLE --- YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS!

I've had the shuffle for about 3 weeks and already have to buy a new dock because the metal piece of the one it came with broke off in my laptop bag. I didn't put it at an odd angle either. It's not even sturdy enough for normal wear and tear.

We have had problems with regular iPods (they usually die about two months after the extended warrantee ends), and now my iPod shuffle is useless as well. I think the Shuffle still works, but I can't tell since the dock no longer functions. It wasn't stepped on, it didn't break in travel, it wasn't abused in any way. It stayed on a shelf with other computer equipment. But it no longer functions. Too bad, because the shuffle is a perfect running companion.

My BMW is a piece of junk too because every time I slam it into a tree it breaks. Gimme a break! Stop stepping on the dock. The dock does exactly what it's supposed to do. All these people are same ones who complain when they drop their iPod in the toilet and then blame the ipod for not magically fixing itself.
