    Don't Let this battery discharge

My Macbook Battery died about a year after I got the machine. I let the battery completely discharge (including the reserve charge). Be careful with these batteries and make sure you don't completely discharge this battery. Turn off your machine and plug it in if you're not going to be using it for a while. Any battery will lose charge overtime. If you leave the batter with only a little charge, it can lose what it has left. On the plus side, it looks nice. :-)

After chat with Applecare -here's tip for battery life

Last night I noticed that my laptop wasn't charging and even though it was at 15%, the green adapter light was on. So I called Apple care. If this happens to you, you can try shutting down computer, taking battery out, hold down power button for 10 seconds, put battery back in and see if that works, it did for me immediately. Phew!

Also, there were a few comments about whether or not to keep the charger plugged in or take it out until the charge is low. The nice guy at Applecare stated it is better to keep the charger in as much as you can because that issue was with older MACbooks but is no longer.

I've had a few issues since buying the MAC but the customer service is amazing both in store and out - totally worth the switch from PC. Now if Apple would just move the button to close a window to the right side! : )

All rechargeable batteries will start to lose their ability to maintain a charge after a certain number of cycles (~600ish i think). These are no different and need to be replaced after a while. Apple will replace your battery if it begins to malfunction prematurely. I have had many batteries for Apple laptops from the 2001-present and all have lasted about 1.5-2 years. My roommate had an MacBook battery begin to fail after a few months and was replaced for free.

I noticed a lot of people that have had a bad run with their batteries. I'll have had my MacBook for a year in two days and my battery health (according to iStat Pro) is at 90%. I followed all the tips that apple tech support gives and have never had any issues. I still get 3-4 hours on a battery using the internet. I'd consider buying a second for long trips and flights, but after reading some of these reviews I'm starting to wonder if I just got lucky with mine.

I've had my MacBook for almost 4 years now. My battery is at 871 cycles, and is still in good condition! I've noticed just in the past couple of months that it's not lasting as long as usual, but it's nothing significant. I might get another one just to have on hand if that increases, but otherwise, I'm happy as can be!

I have been using the Mid-2007 black MB model for over 4 yrs now. I have over 800 charge cycles on my battery. And holds around 90% of the battery power. I calibrate it every month. I at least use the computer for 12 hrs every day with 100% charge up and discharge.

My exhaust fan stopped working, hence got it replaced. during this recent repair, the service engineer informed me that the battery had started to expand and that it will only last another 200-300 charge cycle effectively meaning 9-12 months with the kind of usage I do. Others have mentioned $129 is steep. In India, the price is INR 8800 ($199). So what should I say about the pricing here. Hope to replace my MB to a MBP or MBA when the battery dies. Otherwise I had no issues with the machine. Have upgraded RAM and runs latest version of SL. Its been a work horse for me.

I have had my Blackbook for 2 years now and the battery has decreased in overall power (surprise surprise?) to 50% of it's original... but I'd kind of expect that. So I am definitely looking at buying a new one... just the price is a bit much =\ But! I think this battery has lasted fine for the 2 years I have had it and I only plan to keep the laptop another year.
