This product works great with my ipod touch (2nd gen.). I just bought the extra sensor since my ipod touch has a built in remote.

I figured I'd like to try out this little gadget with my iPhone. Now, I'm no hardcore runner, and for the most part don't really have a desire to run more than a mile at a time, but this device worked really well while I was testing it out. Since I don't have Nike+ shoes, I carved a hole in my old, but in good condition Asics. The sensor fit snuggly in my homebrew "plus shoes" and the accuracy was within the 10% threshold everyone has been saying, but that was before calibration. It should be noted that this device is great for really anyone - those who enjoy running every day, or those who like to take the dog on a brisk walk, like myself. My only complaint is the fact that many feel turned off by the fact that it is designed to work primarily with Nike+ shoes. Running a high price-tag, those shoes can make this simple trying out of a nifty gadget a expense that turns off many who want to try this. Also, with attaching it to the back of your shoe, under the laces, or even inside the tongue, accuracy is reduced. The only way to get guarantied quality recording is to buy a Nike+ pair of shoes, or cut a hole in your existing running shoes - which is not for the faint of heart. Overall, I give this product a 5 on the grounds that it does what it is supposed to do under the conditions that it is supposed to function in.

The sensor could not connect to the receiver no matter how hard i tried and after extensive research online this problem occurred with many thousands of people online. I wouldn't recommend this because im out 30 bucks but im trying to save you the hassle.

    Great except for the battery

I love the technology and having it posted to facebook motivates one to keep going. The only bad thing is the battery isn't replaceable. Apple likes to be "green" but making a product that you have to throw away and buy a new one when the battery dies isn't at all "green". Furthermore, when buying new, not all batteries are the same. Some last a year. Some don't. Perhaps some are on the shelf longer and get moved around to activate their battery? No idea, but all sensors are NOT equal in their life span. Apple REALLY NEEDS TO USE A REPLACEABLE BATTERY!

Got it not to long ago and I've fallen in love with it!
It's the first thing I've ever bought that has actually helped to improve my motivation to go workout! The powersong function is great and I love how my stats are read out to me!

I bought this sensor a few days ago and I just love it. I can listen to my music, while my Ipod and my sensor keeps track of my running.

That means, that I don't have to pay attention to my watch anymore, because I just select the 30 minutes workout and my Ipod tells me, when I have to turn around.

    Terrible Transferability

This is a wonderful product until you try to upload your workout stats to your computer. Most of the time the moment that the Nike+ sync transmitter is disconnected from your iPod, all information is lost. If this could be rectified it would be stellar.

Honestly, I am quite puzzled to see so many negative reviews. I absolutely love this product. I am on my first replacement sensor and have been using the Nike + system for 3 1/2 years. My best advice for those who complain about inaccuracy is to make sure to "accurately" calibrate the sensor. For best results, go around a track. I originally began running to lose weight and now I am training for a marathon. This has been a great tool for me to utilize the data and train accordingly. It's amazing to see where I started and how far I have come. Also, I have had maybe 2 instances where I have lost my workout data. Make sure you have enough power to complete your workout or your data will be lost. Also make sure your computer is completely charged prior to sending your workout to Nike +. Other than my own stupidity and user errors, this is a lean, mean, fighting machine.

I've had no problems with the product but I must complain about a replacement sensor costing nineteen dollars when you the entire thing cost thrity dollars. It almost makes more sense to but everything again. This price point should be lowered.

I called and asked and was told you can, but you can't use it with the newer model. So I wasted money shipping it, now I have to ship it back.

Love this system. It really helps motivate me to workout. I have the iPod Touch so I only need the sensor. I have had my sensor for a year and it just died today - not too bad it lasted longer then I would have thought. I will buy another one and keep on going!

Was given one used (my co worker's watch failed) he got the iPhone 3Gs, did not use it. I got the iPhone 3Gs and wanted it. They sat for 12 months or so, already used. I have put 215 Km on them (that's over 100 miles) still going. Love them.

I bought my sensor and received it early this month (Jan. 2010) and have used it for six workouts, and I think it does a great job. I have not had any problems with syncing the device to my iPhone and I like the option to have spoken feedback whenever I pause my music or the workout. I do not own a pair of nike+ shoes so I also bought a pouch to strap to my laces, and the sensor works in the very cold, in snow, and when it's wet. I look forward to my workouts now because I know exactly how far I have traveled. Thanks apple and nike!

Still going strong after 700 miles

I have been using the Nike+ system for a year this April and couldn't be more pleased. As long as you read the directions carefully you should not have any issues. I have run over 700 miles with one sensor. My shoes have been water logged, muddy, and close to frozen but the sensor keeps going strong.

I've had it for a month now, it works well straight out the box, but even better when calibrated. Turning the sensor to sleep mode is not necessary unless you want to use your shoes for things other than running. Also you can get a strap so that you don't have to have Nike Shoes. If you want to run and stay motivated, get this for your iPod.
