Reviews for Nike + iPod Sensor

Same situation - bought the kit and liked it. What I did not like was that I had to replace the battery in the sensor right after the warranty expired.. $20 is WAY TOO STEEP for such a small piece of technology.

That's a real scam and I'm done w/ this product. Apple and Nike should stand behind their products and make us feel good as customers..

$5 would have been reasonable, $20 is not.

I like the chip in the shoe and have had no issues linking to my phone. The APP is what is terrible. It will pause and start your workout for no reason while walking. Also when you ge a call on your phone you have to stop your workout as the APP stops keeping track as well.There should be a way to configure the APP to not stop running during a call. I can walk and talk at the same time. Also need to make it so the APP does not pause with the slightest bump of the screen.

I bought my Nike+ sensor in May and have been on about 10 runs since then. It's October now and the battery is dead. I really liked using this product but now I'm supposed to spend $19 on a new one after just a few months? Apple, please come up with a sensor with a replaceable battery!

I love using the Nike + iPod to track my runs. It really keeps me motivated and I have told several of my friends about the product. My sister bought one based on my review. However, the short battery life is totally disappointing and I expected more from Apple and Nike. I bought the kit at the beginning of February and the battery ran out at the end of May. I removed the sensor when I wasn't running. However, after reading some of the other reviews, 4 months seems to be an average time for the life of the battery in the sensor. I went to two sporting goods stores to buy a replacement sensor (after realizing that the battery itself could not be replaced). I then went to a specialty running store to learn that the sensors could only be purchased on-line. $19 seems very steep...I expected $7-$10 at the most. When I purchased the kit, I expected to be able to replace the battery and not the entire sensor. This feels like a money making scam on the part of Apple and Nike and it is not environmentally friendly. I would like to see a sensor with a replacable battery. If not for the problem with the sensor/battery, I would have rated the product with 5 stars. I'm going to order the sensor, but I am very disappointed.

I've bought it 1,5 week ago. Worked out 4 times - no problem, then it just stopped working - Its no way I will buy it again - very disappointed

Works great at the beginning but accuracy seems to change as batteries die. With the Nike+ GPS app out there its a lot more accurate with or with out GPS and is a one time buy no replacement needed.

Nike + ipod is a great product with one major flaw, but it has a simple fix. Just make the sensor with a replacable battery! I have spread the word about how great this product is, but how absurd that the battery lasts only about a year or less before you have to buy a whole new unit. I did try to buy the sensor only, but no apple stores carry it.By the time I pay shipping I only save $5 over the full kit price. Seems out of whack!

App keeps crashing

I cannot recommend this product. I ran for just 20 hours in the last 10 months and the battery is empty now. That is 1$ for one hour of running (if you count the sensor without receiver) ... really not worth the money. And to build products with non-changeable/rechargeable batteries is not environmental at all (and this company claims to be).

The only good thing ... for the 20 hours it worked fine.
