    Depends...

    • Written by from Austin

The product is great! It has about 2 months of battery max. if you use it for every day's exercise. Just make sure you get the right shoe. I got a pair that had the Nike Logo on the bottom, but Nike + iPod Sensor requires a pair of Nike shoes with a
Nike+ logo on the bottom of the shoe.

    Great for motivation!

    • Written by from Lancaster

I have had the Nike + system for years. I can tell you that the first few weeks of getting everything to work right was a bit of a hassle. I don't understand why people are not getting the appropriate battery life out of the sensor. I run about 12 miles a week and my sensors (I'm on my 4th one) last at least 8 months or more. Ignore the comments about inaccuracies in distance. It's not perfect 100% of the time, but it's about 90% accurate. The last I checked, that was pretty decent. You do have to take the time to use the product right and calibrate the sensors.

    iPod sensor

    • Written by from annandale

I am on my 3rd and the last two I was unable to use because as soon as I went to use it, I got the message that the battery was low! So $60 later, I have a record 2 workouts because that was all I was able to use! I really want to believe in this product and will probably buy another one. I bought 2 at Footlocker and 1 at the Nike store. I know that the sensor is "on" when you buy it. Perhaps the sensor should come in the "off" position so as to preserve the 1000 hours. I am thinking that they sit for so long and then when customers buy them the sensor is off!!

I love this concept and it really motivated me to keep up my walking program. Help me Apple or...

Can I get my money back!

    it works

    • Written by from West Vancouver

Please be aware that if you don't know how to work with this sensor, it doen't mean that it doesn't work.

I bought one of it and after I calibrate it, it works very well. but before calibration I was so mad, cos I ran like 1 km but it says 800 m. then I learned I should calibrate the device.

In other hand, your iphone must run normally. some of you have hardware or software problem with your iphone. so it's better to verify everything in your iphone before judge this sensor.

    I highly recommend Nike+ipod sensor.

    Good device!(:

    • Written by from houston

its a very good device, although I'm not very sure if its very accurate, but when doing distance and time it gets you motivated, specially when it keeps telling you how many calories you have burned! its works with the iPod 3rd generation and the forth one just fine. the battery life has given no problem at all, and i've had it almost a year!

To connect to your iPod u gotta be having it in your shoe and walking around when the voice tells you to do so in the nike app.

    Great WHEN it works

    • Written by from Yountville

This is great WHEN it works. It fails to connect to my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) 50% of the time. It's become a joke with those I run with because I spend so much time "walking around" to get it to connect. Turning off the iPhone and then back on, sometimes solves the synch issue.

Also, when a call comes in, even if I keep running or walking while talking, it goes into automatic pause mode!

Definitely one of the more unimpressive products I've bought through Apple.

    • Written by from Greenville

This product is pretty neat when it works. But I've had massive headaches getting the chip to work; getting the website login to work; getting runs to sync. I still can't get it working. I would still recommend the product, but just recognize that you're probably committing to spend time to get it to work as advertised. I hope mine might eventually work as advertised in the future.

    Rubbish!

Used it three times and then put it to sleep as directed, because I was not going to run for three days. It never worked again.

    flawed

    • Written by from Yorktown Heights

Bought the sensor in May 2011. It mostly worked well. It became temporarily unresponsive in July. Somehow I made it work again, but yesterday it seems to have finally died. I only run 1-2 times per week. Not sure if the battery is the reason. According to the manual, one should have received a notification if the battery was getting weak.

    Awesome Product!!!

    • Written by from Austin

First off don't be afraid with all the battery reviews. I have used/ran with this same sensor for 473 miles in a little over a year! So with some saying it lasted a month or 2?? I have no idea what they are doing wrong. It just really seems that the individuals putting bad reviews don't sound very tech savvy. -- Will you need to relink the sensor from time to time?? YES, if it's not performing to your standards (don't forget to recalibrate it).-- Will you lose data with switching phones?? NO. I've gone through a 3GS, iPhone 4 and now iPhone 4S and still tracking every single run I do. I absolutely love this product!!

    Not worth it

    • Written by from somerville

As someone else pointed out, I'm rarely motivated to write reviews.. but when things are this bad, you feel the need to warn other people. This product is great in concept, but the sensor is inaccurate (even when you calibrate it) and the battery life is pathetic.

I have had THREE in the last year and they have each only lasted a month or two. I thought it was me.. but apparently it's just a poorly made product. For $20 (plus $10 for the holster), you would expect this to last at least 18 months.. not 2.

NIke - if you're reading this, you should be embarrassed at the poor quality of this product. Step it up and stop wasting our money.

Good for iPod users but waste of money for iPhone4&3GS and iPod touch users

    • Written by from Normal

Works great at the beginning but accuracy seems to change as batteries die. With the Nike+ GPS app out there its a lot more accurate with or with out GPS and is a one time buy no replacement needed.

    Love this product

    • Written by from Tyler

I use it with my iphone nike app. I really wanted to start running and actually being able to hear in my headphones while listening to music how fast/far I was going pushed me to keep going. This is made for the Nike free shoes and they are super comfy. Thanks!

Great, but doesn't last very long

    • Written by from Toronto

I recently just started running and have heard this is a great thing to have. It works nicely with the iPod and it tells you the distance you've covered without having to Google map your route. But I've only used it twice and it's already died. Not sure if I want to get another one if it's going to happen again.
