    This is Great!

Overall, this is great, but I would love to see more to it in the future. For individual it gives time, pace, distance, and they have someone famous in sports tell you ran your best time. Way cool! Makes it even more motivating. I wish they would come up with a way to tell you your heart rate and your steps took on this as well. Then it would be perfect. I have to say this worth the buy.

Nike makes good on sports kit

I love the Nike sports it! Motivates a "non runner" like me who is trying to get in shape and be healthier. I had some issues with battery life and the sensor not reading my pacing but the customer support email/ line was awesome and helped me resolve the issues quickly. Contact them if you have problems! They will make you happy and I will keep using this product because of the help they gave me. I think the feedback the sensor gives is very motivating because you can see even small increases in pacing.

    Nike Sports Kit

I'm not sure why so many people have experienced such low battery life with the sensor. I've had my sensor for nearly a year and a half and run at least 3 miles a day -- sometimes more. I am now replacing my sensor but certainly satisfied with its lifetime.

Inspires to run ... BUT only lasts 18 months

I love this accessory. Got me out running since I could track my progress, and show my friends online how I was doing. HOWEVER .. after 18 months the unit just stopped working .. I assume the battery went caput. Now I need to buy a completely new unit AND another iPod receiver for CDN$40. Maybe a small price to pay to get fit ... just be aware ...

    cool product despite inaccuracy

I haven't had any battery problems with my + sensor since purchasing it in March (125 miles ago). Accuracy has been my biggest gripe; despite calibrating twice, the distance is always between 1/5 and 1/10 a mile short per mile. I ran a 5K a month ago using my ipod and, thinking I was at 2.7 miles, was astonished to round a corner and see the finish line (lol). But seriously, at $30, this is such a bargain given its cachet that I can live with the inaccuracy, especially if I know the thing errs on the low side. Very cool product that makes running more enjoyable and exciting.

I like this product very much. I've had mine for about a month and it works great. I run cross country and this is the perfect way to help me prepare for a meet.

I have used this product for almost 2 years. It's had its problems but worth it to stick it out. When you have a problem -check with the nike+ community-they are a great help and also the people at nike. My husband and I both have nike+ and we run side by side and the mileage is identical, he has to calibrate his and mine is good with the factory settings.

I was shocked to read that people have had issues with the battery life of the sensor. I have had mine since 2006 and I never heard anything that said to ever turn the sensor off so I never have and it's still working. If I had not used this product already and I read these reviews I would not buy it and that's a shame becaue it CHANGED MY LIFE! Don't be put off, it's incredible and so motivating.

    It's a Love-Hate Realtionship...

I love running with my Nike + iPod Sport Kit, but I was very disappointed with the short battery life in the sensor(well below what I was told to expect-started using it in Feb. and it died at the end of May with hardly any warning). I was diligent about removing the sensor from my shoe after each run. I wish I could replace the battery rather than order the overpriced sensor. I also wish there was an off/on button or light so that I could tell if the sensor was off/on. I REALLY love using the product, but am disappointed with the short battery life and inability to replace or recharge the battery. Do I love my Nike + iPod? YES! Do I hate it? Well, yes...however, if Nike/iPod were to address the battery/sensor issue it would be true love!

This product has changed how I approach every aspect of my running. I now run with purpose and persistence. Anyone that runs, or wants to start running NEEDs this device! And yes, it's accurate.. I am OCD sometimes and I test it more often that I should.. accurate with a few hundred feet I'd say.

I thought this product was not well made. I used it on a path that I have measured out and the Nike+ipod gave me half the milage. It is inaccurate and really annoying when you try to rid of the software from iTunes after you return it.

It's really easy to use and the equipment itself is a source of motivation to go out there and start running and then get back home and appreciate your own evolution. Hardware wise, with a heart monitor it would be perfect. Software wise, the website where you track your perfomance could give even more information about running and keeping fit.

but it's just not very accurate. I have reset it a few times however the distance is always off. Hopefully that is not the standard but really not interested on buying another one to see if i just got a faulty chip or something.

It should have an easy way to fit into other shoes, but other than that I love this and the wrist remote control that also synch to it. Use the remote on the run or while driving in the car!

Also, you can buy extra sensors or replace dead battery ones for $19 bucks each from Apple.com!

Fantastic gadget, but it would be better if you could change the battery in it instead of buying a new unit everytime you wear it out. Not easy to find replacement if you live in an area that has active people that use this product. Great Money Maker for nike and applel

I got the Nike+Ipod back in June of 2007. I have to say I Love the product. Its a great motivater and helps you get through your run. Only thing I wish is that the battery in the sensor was rechargable. I have logged over 700 miles and havent had an issue with the battery yet but it is probally right around the corner. I would highly recomend this product if your new to running or just want to get motivation.

Battery dies and you have to buy a new Nike + iPod Sport Kit. I experience battery life similar to that of other reviewers. I ran < 100 miles and it died. Its a flaw in consumer's eye. Seems to follow disposable Apple model goes right to the bottom line. You have to spend 600% more, another ~$30 rather than ~$5 for a battery. I recommend Apple goes 'green' and cuts down on disposable electronics waste and saves customers $$.

I just bought the sport kit about an hour ago, hooked it up to my wifes nano (since for some silly reason you cant use it with regular ipdods...) and went on a run. about 1 mile into my run it needed to be restarted and this continued to be a problem for the next 2 miles. Im on my way back to Finish Line to get a refund. Idea is good, however apple's execution from paper to the street was poor. apple, 1. make it rechargable somehow or battery replaceable. 2. make it work for ipod video, touch and iphone (why not)
