Had to replace a battery that died and purchased this replacement. It is almost as bad as the bad battery. Out of the box, I'd be lucky to get 1.5 hours and a year later I hardly get an hour if I'm lucky. Apple told me to let the battery cycle instead of keeping it plugged in, well, I don't really have a choice with that short of life.

You'd think that with such a great computer the battery would be better than it is. I've bought 2 within a year and a half. The last one only lasted a few months. This is a serious issue and Apple needs to do better by it's customers, especially if they are exclusive in what they make. I nam disappointed.

I bought this new in May 2012 from the apple store because I wanted a quality product. It was more expensive than other brands, but I was willing to spend it. As of December 2012, the battery is completely dead. I'll be looking to another brand if I buy again.

I have had my 15 Inch MacBook Pro for 3 years now. I have probably gotten to use it MAYBE 12 times off the plug due to this disgraceful product. I have exchanged the battery through a local authorized dealer 7 times now because shortly after not being able to hold a charge, the battery puffs up and ruptures. This has happened on almost every battery that I have exchanged and each time, the dealer checks my computer and verifies that it IS NOT my computer and orders me a new battery (for free due to the 1 year warranty thank goodness). Apple should be ashamed of this product, as I am ashamed for them. When you buy an Apple product, you pay three times as much for the innovation, craftsmanship, and quality...not expecting to deal with one of the worst laptop batteries ever to be purchased by a consumer.

The original battery in my 15-inch Macbook Pro was headed into failure mode. It was replaced under Apple's "we won't admit there is problem, but here's a free replacement battery" program. That battery is now down to 85% of its original capacity and it is not reliable. When operating the laptop on battery, it goes from "full" charge down to about 80%, then the laptop shuts off with no warning or alert. Since I need better reliability than that, battery #3 will be purchased (using state funds, since this is a work machine); not the best use of our tight budget money. It would be nice to believe that this new battery will be better, but I'll wait a few months to see what kind of capacity drop-off I get.

I bought the Apple replacement battery thinking it would be a better value than the cheaper alternatives. Wow. What is going on with these? I'm back to using the original Mac battery because my "new" replacement is dead. Will try a cheaper one from eBay, but that's not want I wanted to do.

Battery life decreased 15% the first month, and now it is signaling for me to purchase another one? I hardly even use this computer, I've had it for only one year. Extremely disappointed, PC's hardly have this issue.

I purchased this battery in April 2011. It died in August of 2012. Expensive battery for just 17 months worth of use.

The last one lasted 6 months and 38 cycles before failing to charge. Love the computer, hate the battery.

purchased 3rd new battery last week, just so i can only have 2 hours of battery life!!!!
ended up putting in the old battery back into my laptop, now i have to find a way to return it.
