    This is not very good

    • Written by from KAMUELA

Easy to put on - but it ends there. This armband does not work at all if you use the Nike+ receiver with your iPod while you run. It works only marginally well without the receiver. I am a fairly frequent runner and have had my iPod fall out of the armband twice, once without the Nike+ receiver. The small plastic circle that was supposed to be covering the dial - MIA. Hard to get the iPod into and out of while running and really - this is not for use while running.

    Velcro wears out

    • Written by from Trumbull

Liked the armband at first. But for the price I expected the velco to not loose its grip so fast. I have "slightly" larger biceps than average and after a few months of use 2-3 days a week the velco is shot.

    • Written by from san diego

i like the design. but the velcro is not as agresive as the first week when i got it. tends to rip itself loose , when I place it too high the velcro pops loose. I have to keep re- tie it over and over. do not recomend it.

    So far so good.........

Before buying, I read that this band gets smelly from sweat and is hard to wash. I haven't had that problem yet and wear mine 5-6 days per week. Maybe spraying it with Febreze instead of trying to wash??
Pros: Easy to get on/off, stays on without slipping around, iPod is secure inside, great colors.
Cons: PRICE!! A little much for what you get. I think it should be about $14.99

This band has 2 or 3 Really Critical Flaws...

    • Written by from Atlanta

The Apple-designed nano armband COULD be the best of the available armbands on the market. It's light and minimalistic, a stylish one-piece item that functions well...IF you have tiny biceps. And trust me, I'm not Mr. Olympia, but this thing was cutting off my circulation. (Maybe they should also have an extra-large size?) Also, the velcro "dots" should have been a single strip because it felt like the strap would come off every time I did a curl. To that point, why is the material not more forgiving (i.e., flexible)?

Finally, it's surprising--particularly in light of the armbands that have come out since this one--that Apple has not revised the design to include a flap or some other means of protection for the screen. I never used mine much because, like I said, it was small, but I could see sweat or rain being a factor during exercise.

Looks cool, but doesn't fit well

    • Written by from Mountain View

My primary purpose in buying the armband was for working out. In my case, that means walking on a treadmill. In the past, I owned a different MP3 player with an elastic armband. The armband for that player was much better than this one. This one doesn't stretch much, so I end up tightening it so much that it hurts, and then the velcro gives way. If function is more important to you than looks, then don't buy this armband.

Their are no directions on how to wash it and it doesn't even completely protect the Ipod. It costs way too much money for what you get just like the rest of Apple's product line.

Well I bought one of these armbands! And i'm a little dissapointed due to the fact that in construction and use it for about 10 hours a day!! 6 days a week !!And the velcro is the problem!!! It sticks !!!!'BUT' tends to rip itself loose if I strap it on to loose then it holds but slides down to my elbow!!!!,And when I fit it on snug "just right" the velcro pops loose!!!! so I have to
re-tie it about 10 times a day and becomes annoying!..... sony first came out with the armband thing and also has the same problem!! so I hope Ipod either finds s different method or maybe needs to usea wider velcro band istead of velcro dots!! think about it hmmmm the velco band at the doctors visit when they check you blood pressure never comes loose maybe they have to develop something that works as good or better then what they currently use!! and they should also make it in black because when you sweat and work it gets all grungy with dirty fingerprints!! i spent to much on it
!! i have to put a clip on it so it doesn't come off and after a while the clip starts to dig into my arm!!! ohhhhwel!

    Smelly, but does the job

    • Written by from HONOLULU

I've had my pink armband for 5 months now and have been using it 3-4 days/week while working out. I've never had a problem with the velcro not staying put (I wear it on my forearm); however, after the first month it did start to smell. I read somewhere that washing it will take the odor out (I handwash mine in cold water with mild detergent and it does help), but the plastic cover over the dial came off after about 3 washings. Tried to use a hot glue gun to stick the cover back on but that didn't last long. Despite the problems I'm happy with it because it's so lightweight and easy to use.

    iPod nano armband

    • Written by from Ann Arbor

Not very functional for weight lifting. Armband is too small and does not fit around "slightly" larger arms, cutting off circulation or the Velcro comes undone.

Love it...red one not stinky at all

    • Written by

I was very surprised to hear other reviewers stating that their strap began to stink after they began to sweat. Is there one colour in particular where the smell is a problem?

I wear mine next to my bare skin (I wear tops with short sleeves, or no sleeves) when I work out. I have a sensitive nose and there is no odour from mine. I have the red one, and it looks great with my white nano.

The nano is secure and the armband is so comfortable, you'll forget you're wearing it. I wear it for arobics, and while doing my weights, and it never interferes with an activity, nor does it pinch or bind.

I agree that it is pricy. However, I did buy it, so I apparently the price isn't prohibative. I rated it 4 stars out of 5 for the price, otherwise, it would have been a 5 out of 5.

If the price were lower, I would buy a couple more in different colours.

All in all, I recommend this product.

    not worth the money

    • Written by

At the gym I was appalled by a bad odor only to discover it was me, my ipod cover. Immediately, I went to bathroom to handwash to help mask the odor and the plastic cover fell off. Would have been helpful to have a do not wash sign in the directions and maybe a here's how to mask rancid odor that wil occur. My second problem, I am a women without Hulk Hogan arms and I cannot get the velcro to stay put. I am in-between velcros to begin with and it seems everytime I am running on the treadmill I lose my ipod. I have tried going shorter and pulling tighter. It doesn't work. $30 was a waste of money... I had hoped a better product would have be put out by Apple.

    Allowed damage to my nano

    • Written by

The armband was fine for holding the nano in place, but it does now stink. The other problem is that it let sweat into my nano, the nano burnt out and now Apple say it isn't under warranty as the warranty doesn't cover water damage. I've only had it for 4 months. I am not impressed. Surely it should be designed to prevent that kind of damage.

    don't wash

    • Written by from Oklahoma City

great armband, but don't buy if you plan on doing any physical activity. because once it gets sweaty and stinky you will be tempted to wash it. do not wash it in the washer because i did and the window came off that covers the click wheel and then the whole armband distorts once you try and wear it without the window.

    Not worth the money.

    • Written by from East Windsor

I was very disappointed with this product. It doesn't offer any protection for the screen of my iPod, and since the iPod only slides into the top of this arm band I found that when I moved my arm around, even just running, that my iPod would start to fall out. I didn't feel that it was secure at all. I thought that a product actually made by apple would be better than this. I definitely feel it isn't worth the $29 pricetag. If you're going to get an armband invest the extra $0.95 and get any of the others that are available.

I received the armband yesterday and I started using it today while working at my job and I've received many comments from my other co-workers who also have the iPod nano and where to get the armband. It is really helpful in carrying around the iPod. :)
