I bought the adaptor MA126/A to fit the ipod classic 160GB late 2009 and IT DOES NOT fit. PLEASE REVIEW YOUR ONLINE INFORMATIONS AND CORRECT THEM.Stick to the exact code of the adaptor and SPECIFY CORRECTLY which adaptor code fits which ipod classic specifying the GENERATION AND THE YEAR of production.
Plus tell me WHY THE ADAPTOR FOR THE CLASSIC 160 GB is not contained in the expensive DOCK BOX on sale on Apple centres !!!
I CANNOT BUY A CLASSIC 160 GB BECAUSE IS NOT CLEAR WHICH ADAPTOR FIT IT.RIDICULOUS !!!

So first off, I'm a little disappointed that Apple stopped including docks with iPod. Lucky for me I had one from my old 40GB. However, the adapter that came with my 30GB iPod with video doesnt fit in my old dock. What did I do??? I stuck my iPod in the dock and lo and behold...it may not fit snuggly but it still gets the job done. I'll take my $9.00 to Applebees and grab some lunch instead...

A comment about the dock adapters, they are useful handy little things, that gives apple the ability to make more products compatible with the iPod's and since you get one included, at least I did when I bought my iPod video a month ago, it's really not a bad thing to have.

The iPod with video includes the adapter...

I recently purchased a 30GB "iPod with Video" and it included the dock adapter, so the previous review is actually misleading. Note, however, that the Universal Dock (which I also purchased) does NOT include an adapter for the "iPod with Video."

So, you only need to purchase this adapter if you (a) lost the adapter that came with your iPod with Video, or (b) want to use TWO Universal Docks e.g. one attached to your computer and one attached to your stereo/television.

All of that said, I agree with other reviewers that Apple is nickel-and-diming its customers by selling so many seemingly optional doodads separately. $8 seems a bit steep for three little pieces of plastic -- two of which will never be used.

What's that sound? That's Apple chipping away at your wallet! The new apple (I call it the "new" Apple because this is a complete change of philosophy from a friendly customer oriented company to, dare I say it, the new Microsoft in recent years) has each purchaser require a laundry list of accessories for their product to function appropriately. First the AC adapter for my new Ipod Video, now an adapter for the Dock to fit appropriately. This should definitely make any user think twice about upgrading. Why is a necessary plastic piece simply not included with the Dock? The hidden costs...is apple becoming a cell phone provider?
