  • Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter

It doesn't connect to my 12 inch Powerbook as it says.

Come on Apple! I might as well throw it away. Since my ibook uses the same connector as the powerbook. One of the ends is DVI-D and the other is DVI-I. I had even went in in to Apple and and that's what they gave me.

(It made me rate it at one, But it's no star rating from me.)

    Clunky

OK, it works from my iMac Core Duo to a Dell 24" display, but the DVI connector pair makes quite a bulky lump hanging off the back of the iMac. Here's what I really want: a mini-DVI to DVI cable, sans adapter.

    READ CAREFULLY

According to the Apple description of this product, it is designed to connect a 12" PowerBook to an HD Cinema Display. The DVI has no problem with a hookup to my 23" cinema plug, BUT the Mini-DVI does NOT connect to my 867 MhZ 12" PowerBook.

Needless to say, I am very disappointed in the product. Be sure that you know what you are buying.

Does not work with Cintique Interactive monitor

On the Cintique DVI connector there are 2 pins on each side of the flat tap insert. The Apple adaptor does not have the pin receptacles required.

    Get the right cable

Does it's job well. Just be advised, it goes from mini-DVI to DVI-D. If using it with a KVM setup you will need to connect it to a DVI-D cable (Pure Digital Signal), not the common DVI-I (DVI plus Analog signal) cable that comes with most switches, as it won't accept the analog pins (the Belkin cable sold on this site is DVI-I).

Be careful - will not work with Belkin Cable

Written by GD from Los Angeles

This adapter's female DVI connector is missing the four holes for the analog signals.

Unfortunately, the male DVI connectors on the Belkin 10-foot DVI Display cable (TC377LL/A) also sold on this website has prongs for these signals, so the two cable ends will not mate.
