    WOW!

    Written by EH from Troy

this is amazing. the first time i plugged it in it seemed to know what kind of tv screen it was connected to (connected it to old fullscreen, it went fullscreen - connected to friends widescreen, switched to widescreen) the quality is a little poor but that can be solved by using the "Zoom" feature in Universal Access in System Preferences. one of the best twenty bucks i've ever spent!

    Barely worked

My adapter was a hassle to use. Only upon repeated adjustments would it finally work ( kind of like fiddling with an antenna ). Today it actually stopped cooperating, so now I'm replacing it.

After using the mini dvi adapter (which does work great on the tv!) my window is now stretched out and too big for my computer screen. How do I get it back to normal? Can anyone help me?

I have a 2 month old Macbook. I just bought this Mini-DVI to Video Adapter so I could view my Apple computer on my 27inch Sony TV. I have S-video input but I don't have a cable yet. I am using the composite (standard cable) connection. I am listening to the audio through the computer speaker, so tomorrow I'm going to go buy an audio wire too for my TV. I also bought the Mighty Mouse bluetooth mouse and the Bluetooth wireless Keyboard. All three items work great, and now I have a 27inch screen! If you're going to read a lot on a TV then I do not recommend an older TV like mine but rather a newer LCD TV. I can now watch streaming TV shows using my Macbook and wireless devices in conjunction with my TV. VERY VERY COOL!

    Worked, but sucked

    Written by JB from Westerose

    Apr 6, 2007

This adapter sucks. It's big and bulky, making it awkward to use. The resolution was horrible. It did not properly fit to my 27 inch sony (tube) TV. Then I bought an LCD TV and the same thing happened. Luckily my new TV has VGA input so I got the mini DVI to VGA adapter instead. I would say this product is useless but it worked okay for front row.

I bought this to watch movies on my laptop on my TV. Great product, works just fine. Just took me a moment to configure it correctly to use front row (I had to set the display as a mirror image of my macbook desktop in my display preferences). Nifty little adapter, well worth the money.

I ordered this product yesterday afternoon (1/11) and received it this morning (1/12) with only standard delivery. For it to get here that fast with processing and shipping is quite impressive!!! Works like a charm!

This thing does exactly what it's supposed to. I don't know why some people are having trouble with it. It fits perfectly into the Mini-DVI port.

Remember: make sure to pick up a video RCA cable and 3.5mm to RCA audio cable (only if you want sound, which you probably do).

i had that same problem with my vaio. double-check that both devices (mac and tv) are set to ntsc. Also go into your video card's settings to check everything there. do the same with your tv's settings (check all video menus and configuration settings).

    hope that helps!

After reading some of the reviews on the apple website,I was a bit skeptical about buying this adapter. However, after hooking it up to my shiny new macbook it did exactly what it was supposed to do. The macbook automatically went into dual monitor mode, I set the resolution to match my TV (which is an old-school tube tv), and it just worked! It does exactly what it says it does.

    Great product, but perhaps misunderstood...

    Written by NS from Fremont

    Nov 8, 2006

I would say that this product is mainly for previewing video projects on a standard definition TV. It's not intended for powerpoint or keynote presentations, and yes, if you have a widescreen mac, it stretches everything out and makes it look bad every time you plug it in.
If you want something to maintain the resolution of your project, perhaps when you are using a video projector for a presentation, then go with the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter, or even the Mini-DVI to DVI adapter.

Easy Plug and Play but resolution decreases

    Written by CF from Ripon

    Nov 1, 2006

The installations is pretty easy: Just plug it in! The only bad thing: the resolution changes everytime you plug it in. That means you have to unplug it everytime you just wanna use the built-in screen.
