Wonderful set of adapters!
Written by KC from Falls Church
Jun 19, 2009
FYI, the manual included summarizes the countries for each adapter. A. 3 Prong Blades - UK, Hong Kong, and Singapore. B. Flat Angled Blades - Australia, New Zealand. C. Flat Parallel Blades WITHOUT Holes - China. D. Flat Parallel Blades WITH Holes - North America, Japan. E. Round Thick Pins - Korea. F. Round Thin Pins - Continental Europe. Hope this helps to clarify all the confusion out there.

All apple power adapters are built switch mode
Written by CW from Victoria
Jan 24, 2009
All of Apple's power supplies are 100-240Vac rated and use switch mode technology.
This means that the adapter is able to keep the output constant to your computer regardless of the input voltage from the wall.
MOST devices now days have this technology built into them.

Adapter yes. Converter?
Written by KW from Lebanon
Jan 3, 2009
I think this product is great. Just to let you know, the power cord has a built in voltage converter, so all you have to do is change the adapter. May have seemed obvious, but, not to me.

Apple World Travel Adapter Kit
Excellent product for frequent travelers and expats
Written by BB from Heidelberg
Aug 19, 2008
This set is particularly useful if you're living overseas or are frequently traveling there for longer durations. For shorter term travel, it's cheaper and easier to use the basic electronics converter (my husband does this for his PC). That being said, this set has been very useful to me. I spend a fair amount of time in Europe and it has been fantastic (and very convenient) to just switch out the plug rather than having to use a stand alone converter. It's a great product, but it's probably overkill for most overseas travelers.

Very Useful
Written by PM from Bethesda

This is a great product and did what I needed. The fact that it sticks to the normal charger is useful because when going on a trip to only one country I replace it before I leave and do not have to worry. Also, before I got this I was using a normal radio shack adapter. The problem was, that my macbook pro used to start vibrating and shocking me. The same thing happened with my powerbook g4, this product solved it. It can also be used with the iphone wall charger.

Exactly what I needed!
Written by LB from FPO
Jul 12, 2008
I'm in the military stationed in Europe and due to my job I do a lot of traveling. I purchased this kit 2 weeks ago before going to Africa and I was able to use it in 2 different coutries. My co-workers borrowed some adapters to charge their Ipods and were really pleased. I know I can buy other adapters that are cheaper but the Apple products are much better quality. Also, with non-apple adapters my power chord fits loose in the wall receptacle where as with my apple adapter is very sturdy. What can I say? You get what you pay for.

Not labeled?
Written by PS from Colorado Springs

They work just fine and if you're concerned about them not being labeled, then a Sharpie works quite well - Zen and the Art of Mac Maintenance.
It would be nice if they put ridges on the side so it's easier to grip when pulling off.246 of 405 people found this useful

They're great, they elegantly fit AC chargers. But $40 for a bunch of plugs is a rip off.

Apple World Travel Adapter Kit
It works perfectly & elegantly
Written by RC from Rye Brook
Apr 6, 2008
As someone who travels between the US, the Philippines, Australia, & Hong Kong; let me say that this kit works perfectly.
I just simply change out the default North American Non-polarized 2-pin plug with either the Australian 2-pin V or Hong Kong/British 3 pin. Made by Apple so I don't have to worry if some cheap hardware or airport gift shop plug adapter will cause any damage. Besides, it slips right onto either my Macbook power brick or my iPod charger so it looks nice & elegant.
And like everyone else warns, remember that this just changes the plug so that it fits the socket. It doesn't change the voltage. Make sure your equipment can handle the local electrical voltage & frequency. If it can't, you'll need a power converter/transformer IN ADDITION to the plug adapter
My iPod charger & Macbook brick are rated for 100-240V & 50-60Hz so I should be safe for normal usage in the areas I travel in.267 of 440 people found this useful

Works great in Australia!
Written by AR from LAKE VIEW
Feb 9, 2008
I travel from the US to Australia frequently and this plug adapter works great with my MacBook. I have had absolutely no problems from it and contrary to what I've heard from others, you do NOT need an additional power voltage converter. The one that comes standard with the MacBook does the job! Great investment!

Great product!

I just spent the past three years in Africa, with my iPod and MacBook (OK, only the past year and a half with the MacBook), and this was a godsend. I love the simple change-out system. The modular design for all Apple products is great. Having both European (two prong) and British (three prong) plugs helped immensely where I was. When I traveled, I just had to switch out the adapter.
Well done, Apple!322 of 626 people found this useful

Using the adapter kit in India
Written by DP from Seattle

@GC: I'm not sure where in India you were, but I'm just wrapping up a trip to Mumbai, where I found that most of the receptacles were of the UK style. I had no problem using my kit here.

Great Kit
Written by DS from Harker Heights
Sep 24, 2007
This travel kit is great and a good way to keep your thing from fryin' if you get a cheap power converter. It has worked great with no problems in the countries of England, Holland, Egypt, Jordan, America, Lebanon, and Mexico. We'll try a few other countries next year. But so far so good.

No converters required - Variable Voltage Input!
Written by EC from Windsor
Aug 24, 2007
In response to other reviews, no voltage converter is necessary--you WILL NOT fry your computer. This is because the transformer (the "white box thingy" on the cord) can take a variable voltage input. It says "100-240V 50/60Hz" -- you can use anything within that range and the electronics inside will figure out the rest.

Perfect
Written by EK from Bowling Green
Aug 15, 2007
I used this in Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Ireland, and Britain and it had everything I needed. Just change the plug and go. All you need to do is look at a power outlet on the wall to tell which end to use, and the variable nature of the power supply will keep your computer from frying due to too much or too little voltage. Definitely worth the cost if you ever travel (at least to Europe).
