Apple World Travel Adapter Kit
Convenient but totally lacking labels
Written by CG from San Francisco
Feb 22, 2009
I'm happy with these adapters, they were expensive but I charge my phone, ipod, etc off of my laptop, and being able to just say, "oh, I'm going to Australia" and go to the file cabinet to get the right plug has been useful to me. They don't have a type D or F plug, which you should note if you need those. However, they have one horribly irritating flaw: the plugs themselves don't have any labels at all on them. You have to write the plug type in sharpie on them. Maybe I'm just not cosmopolitan enough, but I can't tell a type E (fat 2 pins) from a type C (thin 2 pins) without staring at both of them and at a website picture, and that's the last thing I want to do the night before I travel.

Like it But.....

I Really like the adapter I just wish that there were Labels on each adapter, SInce I travel allot to foreign countries, and I have to figure out which adapter is for which outlet, They are not labeled "UK" or "China", they have no label. I also wish that they could charge more than your MacBook or Ibook. There is the Wall Plug and the Charger Plug, you place the adapter to your charger, having to remove the prongs. Rather than just plugging the adapter in.

No plug for Switzerland
Written by RR from Chicago

Like many other things with the Swiss (the currency, EU participation, banking disclosure regulations, etc), they've decided to go solo with their choice of electrical outlet layouts. Unfortunately, Apple's World Travel Adapter Kit does not have this covered. UK - yes, France - no sweat, Germany - OK, Switzerland - Sorry. So, if your European travel includes a stop in Switzerland, you'll need to make other arrangements for adapting your power to the Swiss plugs.
I bought a US - Swiss plug adapter at a Swiss store and then had to modify it to accommodate my Apple power supply.
I sure hope Apple comes up with a Swiss adapter like all the other European ones.153 of 230 people found this useful

Not bad for the price

I am here in Germany and I just bought the adapter for Europe Continetal, a two round-prong type adapter. By itself this thing cost me 13 Euro, so that comes to about $16.00. So, for another $34.00 you are getting several more.
Of course you can always just buy one huge universal plug and carry that around with you.

its really a good thing, cause it helps you when you want to travel but i think that you should also have each adapter for sell separately, there's times that you only need one and you have to buy the hole kit

Planes, trains, automobiles ?
Written by MG from Voorhees

Wonder why the travel adapter kit does not have ways of adapting to Planes, trains, or automobiles (inverter).
I would find this very useful.
I have the kit, but it only helps once you are there. Not for the very long flights.67 of 99 people found this useful

Good, but ok

This work great, and the fact that they integrate into the white power blocks is fantastic. My issue with this set is that they only give you one of each, which is understandable, they dont know which one you will need. but what if i want two european ones? id have to buy to of these sets, 80 bucks for two, thats rediculous, they should all be available seperatly.

Worked well for me, but..
Written by JC from Dacula

I bought this kit before my month-long trip to England. The adapter worked very well for me. However, I wish they had been cheaper. Also, I wish that I could have just bought the one that I needed rather than the entire pack.

Apple World Travel Adapter Kit
too many connectors
Written by MA from New York

According to Rick Steves - the PBS travel show guy - you really only need 2 adapters to convert 110 volt devices throughout Europe. There's the 3 pronged scary looking one for the UK and a simple 2 prong one that's supposed to work everywhere else.
Wish Apple would sell these 2 separately. Has anyone needed more than 2?
