    problem with photo retrieval...

    • Written by from Tracy

I love this thing and I had this for about a month now... The battery is holding off quite well, and I really like it's performance. One thing I'd like is for the drone to come with some extra propellers, but other than that, it's pretty well presented. After about two weeks or so, I noticed that when I try to retrieve the pictures I took, it won't do it; all it does is stay in the 'retrieving photos' stage. I don't know if it's a problem from the app, or if it's the drone, but until I figure it out, I can't collect the pictures I took. Other than that, the drone actually holds out really well. I have crashed it a bit, and the propellers hold out pretty well. I don't really mind about the charge time, but it would be nice if there was a longer-lasting battery type. It flies for a good amount of time still. I really like the Rolling Spider, and I would really recommend it to beginners. Grant that its a bit pricy, but once it's flown, it's really worth it. It's very stable, has a pretty average flight time for quadcopter drones, and is very easy to control. I would just warn to keep a look out for the glitch in the photo retrieval.

Everything is great until upgrade firmware.

Mine was flying great with no problem. Then I upgrade firmware from 1.0.80 to 1.0.103 then I can see battery life drops 1% per second. Don't upgrade firmware if it is doing fine !

    Great for beginners

    • Written by from San Jose

This drone is great for beginners, it is extremely easy to control, and the wheels make it almost crash proof. It is also very stable, to a point I can literally let go and it barely moves a centimeter even in high winds. Though I do hope there will be a better camera and the range should be better. I did lose it in my house just 2 meters from it.

    Parrot Minidrones

    • Written by from Houston

This product is a good entry point to more advanced Drone products. It's very easy to use with mobile app. However, the parts on the mini drone are somewhat sensitive and can break easily--i had to re-order one of the propeller motors.
I do recommend this product to other users starting on Drone products.

    Amazing

I gave it four stars because of the battery situation. It takes awhile to charge and you have to charge it in the minidrone so if you have two battery's you can't charge one while your flying it.

    Great Product, Some Takeoff Issues

    • Written by from Denver

Super fun and handy little product. Easy to learn, love the controls from an iPhone, and very fun to have around for kids of all ages. The only issue I've encountered is some takeoff problems where occasionally the Spider will just roll backwards until it runs into something and the switches off due to the collision. That happens about one out of every five or six takeoffs, which can be annoying, but once you get it in the air, its a ton of fun.

    Awesome, Entertaining

    * It's really fun to fly this little Guy. Initially had some difficulties controlling it but after some crashes got use to it.
    * Parrot will soon start selling its spare part and accessories. Hope with future firmware and software update this little guy will rock..
*Customer support from Parrot is not great. (They haven't responded to my message which I sent weeks before)
*Battery life depends on the Flips/Stunts performed approx. (5-6 mins).
*Camera is ok. If you decide to take Selfie then do it as soon as you take off.
*Motor gets heated very badly after approx. 5mins of flying.
*Not recommended to fly when the its windy outside. It is very light and can easy go along with the wind.
*Overall it is fun to fly but really want Parrot to improve its battery life.

    Cool little drone

Fun to fly but connecting and battery life can be a little frustrating. I'm sure these bugs will be worked out soon as Parrot is a very reputable company.

Thanks for making the mini drones!
